Guest justin_3d
A lot of people in the world are racist.Weather be in USA, Spain, England, Serbia, Italy, Russia, Argentina, Mexico etc etc.The reason to hate against a group of race is strong.Environment contributes a lot to that as well.I am from NYC and is very diverse, so i never have problem with anybody from color or religion.Plus being in the military, where you work with everybody gets you thinking away from hating a person from a different race. Kojo 4,676
I know i'm not, my best friend is black. I know a lot of people who are racist, and i find it odd how they are like 'come into our country and steel our jobs', when it's not there country and there not steeling any jobs there just working harder than you. But i don't think it's bad to be honest, there's not to much fighting about it, i would say the positives outway the negatives about racism, at least the government cares and were living together. termninja 5,290
ON a serious note ... Tribalism is worse than than racialism. In present times has caused more misery and deathsYa know what's worse then a person who is a racist? If that person is a both racist and a Tottenham fan
HRiver 1,512
Torres and Drogba might be, considering that they don't get on that well with each other. On the pitch at least. Nah, just kidding.Personally - I'm not a racist, I'm not a nationalist and I'm not religious.

TacticalBlues 2,817
Come on, if you are racist then you must hate half of the Chelsea team. Besides there are different forms of racism, I'm sure nobody here is overtly racist ( I hope so) but implicit racism is rife amongst the majority of the people e.g. unwittingly walking away from a hooded black guy in the middle of the night. This is all mainly due to the biased crap printed daily abundant in the media.
BlueLion. 21,491
Interesting topic. You could say I am a little racist, in an English way. It's all token racism though, such as a mock hatred of the French and Germans that you casually go along with. In truth I am not racist/xenophobic to anyone or anything. Drogba11CFC 108
On the one hand, you could argue that I am because I tend to read the Daily Mail, vote Conservative and think that immigration should be controlled (though only a few people, all of them internationalists, one of whom was incredibly racist towards white people, on another, very left-wing forum, so I don't think that counts). You could also argue that I'm not, because I'm not the kind of person to show hostility to people. I guess that like BlueLion, I tend to make jokes about German tourists and sunbeds.Of course, I'm half scottish, and we Scots hate a lot of people. The French, Germans, Americans, and other Scots. Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland! On a more serious note, falsely accusing others of racism, or throwing accusations of racism around, is just as bad as racism itself. Henrique 9,133
Yes, I'm racist. If you are not brazilian then you are not my friend. This poll is really funny. Its a shame tha in USA some people even say in polls that they are racist, I mean, they are racist and they think thats normal.I mean, in USA you even have movies for black people, music for black people. Thats weird. You a blonde girls is singing soul, then its "blue-eyed-soul". USA is really segregated. Its not forced, but its voluntary, but Its not better than racism. Madmax 9,219
I'd say Indians are racist, to an extent. The way Africans or Blacks are portrayed in the media gives away the fact that some Indians consider them inferior because of their skin colour. In Indian movies you'd often find Blacks playing the role of mafia henchmen or other such anti-social elements. While we have an obsession with white skin and fairness creams for example make a fortune selling their stuff here. There's a very popular brand "Fair & Lovely" - I guess you know what I mean when they immediately follow the word 'fair' with 'lovely'. White people are obsessed with Tanning products, machines, parlors, etc. What does it prove? It works both ways. Brown people are obsessed with wanting to be fair although alot of Indians are quite Fair specially as you go up north and Fair people wanna be brown, cus thats "Sexy" according to them. Blue In Green 86
Personally I'm ashamed how segregated the US still is...it's 2011.Then again, people were still being lynched for being black in the 90s. Having a black president is a huge step forward, but that woke up seditious right-wing elements that had been dormant for some time. Those of a certain age can remember the era of the "Dixiecrats", when the George Wallaces and Strom Thurmonds gave fiery speeches in front of Confederate flags and when the National Guard had to force certain Southern universities to integrate. The tea party movement would never have started if President Obama had lost the 2008 election. They never exhume President Bush's economic policy, yet they freak out when President Obama does the same things. They tell Latin Americans to go back to their country, yet are unwilling to do the work they do. Fox News and the conservative talk radio windbags are as popular as they are because of their willingness to twist facts, statements and scenarios into shocking, revolting "stories" eagerly digested and spewed by their ignorant rural, racist, sexist, jingoistic Gawd-fearing audience. I live alongside some of them, and the things that come out of their mouths are stunning. It's as if they want to live in 1875.

And either way, it's really not as bad as in India where if you go into the interiors or even in some of the 'big' cities, you'd find people unwilling to marry a dark-skinned girl, for example. Or being given lesser preference than a lighter-skinned girl based on no considerations other than skin tone. You'd find matrimonial ads looking for "thin, fair and beautiful" brides from " a good family", immediately implying that dark ones are all but those things. We as a nation are obsessed with white skin. I'm aware this isn't prevalent all throughout the country, but it is an alarming situation, imo anyway. warnie_666 1,081
I never dispensed your argument that we are obsessed with being fair. All I am saying is it is not fair to call the Indians racist just because they want a fair bride (although this happens with only narrow minded Indians. Not all Indians are like that). White people are obsessed with tanned skin. So? It's a human tendency to want what you don't have. Why do you see people sunbathing?India is a racist country no doubt but to say they are racist because they are obsessed with being fair is Wrong.90% of Indians would go bezerk if someone in their family married a white girl or had a white girl friend. That proves that they aren't obsessed with Fair skin. You know what racism is? Hatred against ones race. What you are talking about is people wanting something they don't have an tag them racist. Which is Wrong.
