New Deal for Hilario

Recommended Posts

Hilario has signed a one-year extension to his current Chelsea contract.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper's contract would have run out this summer but he will now spend a sixth season at Stamford Bridge, having so far made 33 starts and four substitute appearances in his role as one of the keepers supporting Petr Cech.

Last season Hilario played one game, the Community Shield match against Manchester United at Wembley. In March 2010 he made his one appearance for the Portugal national side.

I think this is a good thing. He is not worried about helping out the team when needed. He helps the lads warm up before the games even when he is not on the bench. He is also a top lad and always takes his time out to take photos with the fans.

I don't see anyhting wrong with the new deal. Hilario has been a magnificent back up goalie for us over the years and has stood up to the task against teams like barcelojna, man utd, liverpool et al. a true professional and no complaints here

For the most part Lionsden, he is better than Almunia and Kuzcack.

Not better than Given though lol.

yer my bad. I forgot spurs and Man city have singlehandely dethroned Liverpool. I'm still living in the past I suppose :whistling: :whistling:

This is a pointless contract extension. I've always said Sam Walker would make an idea backup while still playing reserve football when he doesn't need to be feature. We've got an abundance of goal keeping talent in our ranks. Hilario is not one of them..
