the club is already thinking about next summer for sure, we apparently started thinking about/discussing with havertz more than a year before signing him, don't see the harm in discussing rumors from trustworthy sources, even if they relate all the way to next summer, especially in the "chelsea tranfer pub" forum... as to romano, you mentioned the rumors being based on a haland quote and I corrected you and brought up that the trustworthy romano has talked about it. You may not care what he says but he is usually spot on and doesn't often peddle BS stories like some others do so when he says something like this, it has some weight to it for many (myself included). I'm sure there are plenty of ways of fitting Haland and werner into the same line-up, be it 442, werner on the wing, occasional 433 or 4231 with rotation... Again not saying it's gonna happen that we sign haland, just find it funny when people (not you necessarily) dismiss this out of hand as something that won't/can't happen...
-
The players we've signed all said he was a huge factor, if Haland already admires lamps, I don't see how it wouldn't be a factor but agree to disagree I guess. I am however very happy that roman seems to be much more ambitious than you are when it comes to going for top generational talents lol
-
maybe, maybe not... but now what we do have to attract more young top talent is a core of top quality top talent already at the club. IMO this will make chelsea a very appealing proposition next summer, if we perform this year as our talent is capable of.. Matt Law already stated that we will be going big next summer again so who knows, maybe the same/similar situation could even happen again, one where we are willing to spend big but some others aren't. Again don't necessarily think we will sign rice-gimenez-haland next summer but I could see us getting 2/3 (or some other top CB target other than gimenez) if we manage to sell some of our surplus players for acceptable fees.
-
ummm because haland is a generational talent who has all the tools to become one of the greatest strikers of the modern era...? as good as tammy is, he is not in haland's class unfortunately As to playing fifa/football manager, you would have probably said that last April too if someone told you we were about to sign havertz, werner, chillwell, ziyech, silva, mendy etc and yet it still happened. Not to mention that Matt Law already explicitly said that for phase II of this chelsea revolution next summer will also go very big as we did this summer. Yes Lampard already sold his vision successfully to two of the most sought after young attacking players in the world in havertz and werner, and with Hlanad who is already a huge admirer of his, he has the opportunity to do it again... I really don't see why haland being a huge lampard admirer "will not be a factor" as you claim. It's ridiculous to claim it as a fact that he's going to one of the manchester clubs, if you say it's a feeling you have or hunch, sure, but to state it emphatically is ridiculous imo.
-
it's not based on a quote (although he did say that), it's based on fabrizio romano's latest podcast episode... Don't see why we couldn't get both next summer, especially if we manage to sell some unwanted players like jorginho, alonso, palmieri, michy, barkley etc... (not saying it's gonna happen but it is in now way beyond the realm of possibility)
-
and now rumors of much higher quality (fabrizio romano) are saying we want to sign him so.... We would let go of Tammy in the blink of an eye if we had the chance to sign Haland. (love Tammy but the truth is the truth) And of course being a huge lampard admirer plays a role lol. Did you not listen to werner, chillwell, havertz, silva who all credited lamps as the main reason they came (among other reasons of course). Of course neither of us know for sure where he'll end up but to categorically state that "Haaland would end up in one of the Manchester clubs" is ridiculous imo
-
based on what? we have as good a chance as them if not better... he's already on record as being a huge lampard admirer

according to 90min twitter account, spurs won the transfer window [emoji1787] probably a bad case of recency bias, in terms of just seeing spurs demolish MU the other day lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

because he’s an amazing young player who is captain at 21, good technically and has good physicality (something we need), is used to the PL, is a great leader, already in the England starting XI, fits our exact needs in terms of dm/cb and is a lifelong chelsea fan too... seems pretty obvious to me lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

true but could he play lone DM in a 433 with two #8s alongside him? not so sure... I think ideally we would want a player that could but at least partey would make us more solid in a 4231 if he were to play alongside kante instead of kovacic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
he’s more of a box to box player and not a true dm so he wouldn’t really solve our problems... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

need to keep CHO but... no offense to those saying that lampard is the one pushing him out but that’s laughable and has no substance, it’s obvious lamps doesn’t want to sell one of our only 2 wingers available... CHO has seemed very non-committed to Chelsea ever since before even signing his new deal... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

hope we don’t settle for a back-up option and instead wait to sign rice later this winter or next summer... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wouldn’t even mind jorginho going to arsenal that much tbh, psg preferable of course but I don’t feel another slow player in their midfield will help arsenal significantly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

rice has already proven he’s a very good premier league player though, he would be useful for future managers too... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ruben did have that season with sarri where he was actually our best player in the second half of that season... but yeah, because of his injury, I doubt he’ll reach those heights again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CHO was pretty bad yesterday and I thought mount showed why’s he’s consistently picked ahead of him despite not being a winger... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

despite not scoring a couple of chances, mount was great... set up havertz, almost scored a wonder goal and was great at moving the play along to final third and switching play to find free space on the right... CHO was pretty bad against weaker opposition and some will still be fuming that he’s not starting in tougher games [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe but I still feel his skillset and characteristics are much better suited to serie a Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also: Lampard would favour selling Jorginho rather than Kanté. [@JacobSteinberg, The Guardian] #CFC 100% percent agree with lampard on this, kante still ahs a lot to offer as we saw in the france sweden game a few days ago while jorginho doesn't fit the style we're trying to play at all..
-
apparently we received a bid of brozovic + cash for kante today and we turned it down... Reports claim inter will probably make one last straight cash offer before window closes.. Also: Lampard would favour selling Jorginho rather than Kanté. [@JacobSteinberg, The Guardian] #CFC Completely agree with lampard on this... anyone who saw how amazing kante was recently against sweden knows he still has a lot to offer
-
I see your point and hadn’t really thought about how much worse NT managers are... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rice could slot in at CB and DM when needed, jorginho at DM in the PL is a disaster... IMO, ideally we sell jorginho, keep kante and buy rice... hopefully we can find a suitor for jorginho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree with this but in the context of England results in WCs for previous 25 years before that, semi final was a decent achievement (even if the path to SFs was fairly easy) But yeah he needs to go, the line-ups he’s picking recently are horrible and so was the game v. Iceland (lucky not to draw with them missing a penalty in the last minutes) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
