  1. I sleep in the same bed as my brother many times... the mere thought of giving him even the smallest peck makes me want to vomit for a whole month. I know so many people that have similar pics with their brothers and sisters, maybe we're all incestuous around here and we don't know... lol But for real, for some siblings it's normal, although, of course, many others wouldn't be comfortable. Also, as far as I know she's trying to make a model/actress career happen. Oscar is her best way of getting exposition, but they're just affectionate.
  2. I'm talking about ratings and scores, do you know that right? I'm not talking about stats purely, but how they rate players in those sites. If that isn't a joke, then I don't know what is. And no, basketball isn't as complex as football, though I do agree it has more variables than baseball and American football. Let me just give one single laughing stock about those links. For Squawka Hazard, Eden Frigging Hazard has a 100 score for defending. Cesc Fàbregas has nearly -200. In what world does that make sense? But enjoy giving it any relevance. I never said stats are useless. They need to be contextualized. Around a year ago I even wrote articles for this site with contextualized stats... I love stats when they're used properly, the thing is, the way it's been designed so far, it doesn't tell the whole story. Which is what my signature says. It doesn't tell the whole story. So now I have to believe Hazard is thrice the player Fabregas is defensively because Squawka said so. Sorry, but I'm barely breathing through my laughs. Those ratings and scores are ridiculous, and I doubt a club pays attention to them. To better stats, maybe, but to scores and ratings? They aren't stupid.
  3. At least it wasn't Lampard, the title winner for some here
  4. Either way I'll keep the faith, the delusional dream they may drop two points there. Someday they won't scrap results like they've been scrapping. I hope said day is today
  5. both of which that are very inconsistent. There's a reason why Navas has never been an established regular in their first team. When he's on his day, he's amazing, but he has some horrible presentations too. Kolarov is no better.
  6. For someone that has been deeply disappointed by our kits this season (to the point I didn't buy any of them) I can't wait for next season to be here. You guys have no idea how much I just frigging love the home kit. I like the other two as well, but that home kit is all shades of perfect.
  7. I hate Monday football - which is why the thread is quiet, we're two and a half days away from our match I spend the whole weekend anxious, waiting for our match, and if our rivals win their matches, we even play under some pressure. HATE IT. That said, if Palace park the bus properly, I can see a goalless draw. Lampard or no Lampard.
  8. For you, Europeans (except from Portugal, Italy and Spain), it must look like something weird. For Brazilians... that's absolutely normal. We're way more warmer and engaged in touching and showing affection to friends, family and not only partners than your wildest dreams. The girls were probably working out and then they took the picture. I've seen much stronger displays of affections between brothers and sisters here. And maybe you've been watching too much porn too, lol. edit: Greeks are hot as well. I mean, warm
  9. Well, most people I know don't take those ratings seriously, and rightfully, because they're data generated by computers inherited by American methods - which works fine for the recreation sports they have there such as 'football' and baseball, that are very simple recreation sports, with few variables that don't show much variation. When you apply the same method to a sport much more complex such football, it loses all credibility. You probably just looked Hazard's ratings, and his aren't that bad (although some of his defensive ratings are laughable too) and overall looked who were there. But to each their own mate... there's a reason those ratings and scores are rarely brought into any conversation on the forum (if you ever noticed). They're worse than the stats I refer to in my signature imo (whoscored the worst of all). Also, except with Aguero leading them all, the lists themselves have a lot of contradicting. Yes, Hazard is top 3 in all of them, but if they were any accurate, shouldn't they look a lot more like each other? I mean, the players, the matches they're analyzing are the same, still they have some very different results. I prefer to base my opinion on what I watch and my perception of this instead of something that doesn't work for football.
  10. they simply celebrated the goal with Remy - and probably expected Shirley to do the same, as he got the rebound of Remy's woodwork... I swear those conspiracy theories get wilder and wilder as each day passes.
  11. Sorry, but I think those links were a disservice to your point - although I do agree with you he's on the same level as some of those players. Those ratings, scores and whats not these sites have are obnoxious. I laughed at some players and their ratings/scores. He's on the same level, but not on the same bracket as those guys because we aren't an one-man-team like City is (Aguero) or Arsenal (Sanchez). Eden is way more talented than Sanchez and more talented than Aguero, but he's a team player. Sanchez is a bit more engaged into the team, but Aguero is a separated 'body'. and they're major cunts. Silva and di María are very talented too (and not cunts), but they've been injured for a while this season... I prefer Eden over any of them, but those rankings are nonsense.
  12. I know Iva has some goals conceded on his account too... but I feel like Luis' mistakes are more eye catching and knowing the defender he is, you know those mistakes are probably because of adaptation issues. It's like he's still too soft for the league because he didn't make the same mistakes in UCL...
  13. My favorite jersey since I've been a fan. love absolutely love the 2010 shirt [emoji7] [emoji7] [emoji7] And mate, you're class, thanks for sharing the news even if I'm late to read it Damn, I have a boner and I'm a girl!!!!!!
  14. promoting and developing youth in an ongoing process that take a while, by the end of the season it won't be enough. If he stays 3, 4, 5 years, we'll have a better idea of how he handled it. I'm not saying he couldn't have handled better in those two seasons he's been here - he could - but I think the judge is out for him way too early. He brought them to the first team now, to be tutored by him, so, I think next season is when we should look at him and ask 'now that they've been under your wing for one entire season, how do you plan to use them?' I also feel like he has his hands full with our first team. Some of those guys just need to develop a winning spirit, a soul of a warrior, and stop bottling.
  15. Why 2020, when he'll be only 29, still looks too early? I wanted him to stay forever. Can't we offer him a 10-year deal at least? Seriously now, great piece of business. He's worthy every little penny he earns. I haven't been posting in this thread as much as I should - especially to retract my comments about his development earlier in the season. I'm the hardest on him because I think he's years light in terms of talent and ceiling compared to any other player we have. But to say I'm the happiest with his development at this point is amazing. I had major concerns about his attitude (not only his btw) earlier this season and I thought maybe that would detract him from reaching the heights his talent could take him to. But he proved my concerns to be unfounded, with all the lightheartedness that will always be part of him (and which I love, tbh), there's been a determination too. While I agreed with people he needed to improve his finishing, I was the most elated that he was taking the shots in the first place. There's only one way to improve finishing (and we all know he has a nice finishing, he was just going through a bad moment) and that's training and shooting in the matches. I don't know if he stays after training sessions practicing his shots (he should, that helped Cris a lot, and he still does it), but I felt like he just needed to overcome a block. He's been scoring now nonstop and while his finishing is better than it's been showing (the goal against Derby just shows he has a better finishing), he's scoring. I don't need him to score a lot, I need him to work on his game and that he's been doing. He's going to be 24 next month, he's got time to improve his finishing. His decision making improved greatly - another area I felt needed serious improvement. He's going for the link up, dribbles, and shots at the right moment and all of that without losing the joy of having some flashy links up with Oscar and Cesc. He's having fun, which I think is also very important to help a player develop because it means they aren't feeling the pressure. I think he's in route to become of the best players in the world, like very, very, very top, between the five best, not only in terms of talent and potential (one could argue he was already there in those aspects), but in terms of results. He's starting to decide matches for us routinely and not only once in a while. That's what big players do that many talented players can't ever deliver. They take issues into their hands, they win the matches and Hazard has been winning matches for us in a direct way. Many here already thought he was indirectly winning them earlier in the season when he was part of the goals we've scored early when the play started. That's nice (and even true), but to take the next step in his development curve he needed to be the guy who assists or who scores. He needed to be the guy that creates clear cut chances or that has a lot more shots for us, even if those don't end up in goals. He needed to be directly involved for the team to feel when things were tight and hard, he'd solve them. I think he's there. This season is definitely going to be the season he'll score the most for us from open play, I'm positive about it. He's becoming more direct and more decisive and that's why I think we should really reward him with a fat monthly check.
  16. let's just wish him the best recovery and better luck with tackles in the future? He IS a Chelsea player after all and he seems just like a nice guy and I see a lot of quality and potential there. I think that's something we can all agree. Injury prone or not, he's a Chelsea player, so let's just wish him the best. And I hope it's lesson learned from this. Don't ever loan anyone to the shit that is Milan AC - unless their name is Fernando Torres.
  17. I think he isn't there yet, and we can't afford his 'adaptation' with matches against those teams. He's failed in all goals we've conceded coming from his side while he was playing for us in the EPL. I understand that as a liability as it stands, it's completely different from the liability Cahill offers though. Luís is better than this and he needs more time. Cahill overachieved last season, when a setup favored him and covered his limitations. Luís can still progress, but as it stands now, even the five games he played because of Azpili's suspension showed he has a way to go before he can be played there for us regardless of who we're facing. Just because he's the most technical (maybe even the best) FB we have, doesn't mean he's ready to take part of the team in tougher matches. He isn't imo. And I agree, his Atletico days show us how much a good defender he can be. Many people in Brazil see him as a defensive FB - based on how our FBs normally play. He also sees himself as more defensive.
  18. but normally the argument is that Mourinho doesn't develop players. I read this here many times to know most of the people 'against him' in this discussion feel like that. Many of them wrote it with their own fingers. I think the way he's handling Zouma is brilliant - Strike agreed with me, don't know if for real or if he was being sarcastic (never know with written communication). I understand now better what you meant - which is a relief - because I was like, 'this can't have been written by Thomas, just can't'. So let's call him - and Aké - first team members. Still Mourinho was giving enough chances for Aké earlier the season (am I confused or he even played in the league? Or was it UCL?) and every chance he has to give a rest to either Terry or Cahill, he's been deploying Zouma. I think that's developing both players and at the end of the day, that's what matters right? That the young players (in age and in development) receive chances and are developed. Last season van Ginkel was very unlucky, I reckon he would have received even more chances than Zouma and Aké, although he's not that young anymore. I don't know why Salah himself hasn't been receiving a lot of chances and I even agree with you - and others - that I'd rather have one of the kids instead of him in the first team, but not Boga. I think some of the kids have been working hard for longer and I know pecking order shouldn't consider only this, but you guys maybe have never managed a team of people (I have for years). Sometimes you have to base your decisions based on what preserves the good environment. I'm very excited about Boga, VERY, but maybe it wasn't his turn this season yet ahead of others. Again, I understand where you guys are coming from, I just don't get the rush and the idea that José will never give them a proper chance. I think it's too early to have this predicament. The kids have time (most of them are 18 and 19) and Mourinho has time too. I deeply disagree with the argument some around here have that every season is crucial. This season the first team and Mourinho have a lot of pressure because neither have won anything in a long time. Do you think Arsenal have more pressure on them to win this year than last after 8 years without wining any title? The pressure to retain isn't the same as the pressure to break a trophyless period. Actually, many teams have hangovers after they win an important title. Until the next champion is crowded, they're still the champions in the following season. So yeah, I feel like this team (the first team) needs a lot of work in their attitude, they should be played the most possible (but also avoid exhaustion) because if the first team isn't ready, how can it have youngsters integrated? I'm not saying Ruben would have compromised against Sporting. He doesn't even play in a position he would have compromised, I just meant the first team players NEEDED to win that match convincingly. Mourinho needs to start recovering Schurrle's form because he's very useful for us and we are an injury away from having an AM problem if he isn't fit. If we move Cesc to #10 and Oscar or Willian to the wing, we create a problem in our pivot and we all saw how much we lacked wherever Mikel played for us. Bad timing, which sucks for the kids, but the Sporting match was something the first team players needed.
  19. Oh, how I wish I lived in England This cover for Chelsea Magazine edition is perf
  20. oh that makes a lot of sense because Salah has been playing a lot, right? It seems like you guys don't even make sense of what you want. And seriously, Boga? BOGA? I'm done with this conversation. You say you aren't saying that directly - and I know you aren't, after all, you're smart. But indirectly is what you wanted to happen. In a match where the players that have been playing needed a convincing win and therefore had to play for their own progress you wanted one of the kids to play against Sporting. I agree that the Derby match wouldn't be a bad idea, but then what? Let's say if RLC played half time, I think it would have been okay. But how is that integrating youth? When would he play again for us? That's gifting him a match to look pretty for fans like you - that advocate youth players to 'receive chances in COC matches' but it would contribute 0 with his development because we don't know when he's going to play again. I never meant you were attacking him, I just thought the van Gaal comparison was (still is) unnecessary. Different people, different managing style. You're the one that mentioned LvG more than once (although it wasn't you who mentioned him first). Also, come on, seriously, your argument that Zouma isn't a youngster because of his fee. I'm surprised and something else, that's the kind of argument I expect from a lot of people on this forum, not you. He's 19, he's not even close the end product, he has a lot of areas to grow and develop. You can say whatever you want, he's a youngster who could play for our U21 team if Mourinho didn't see him fit. Or he could be treated like Kalas was last year (although he had an injury)... Iva could be played ahead of him if Mourinho didn't think he was ready. Damn, even Aké - who's older - could have been played there if Mourinho didn't see fit, he does. But as he didn't come from the frigging Chelsea academy, it doesn't matter that Mourinho is giving chances for a 19yo. As I said to Strike, I'm done with this subject. Yesterday I agree the level of the discussion was good, despite my disagreement. Now the arguments are getting stupid. Sorry. It doesn't count, mate. Among other things because Zouma isn't a Chelsea academy product. He's not even a youngster anymore, despite being 19 and having plenty of room of development, being even raw in some aspects of his game. But, hey, he has a 12m pounds fee. That's what decides the age and development of a player around here, it seems. I'm so sorry, but that argument was one of the most stupid I've ever read here and I'm disappointed by it. wow... I'm definitely out of here.
  21. of course I'd be cautious because there's no reason to risk the kid feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders if he does something wrong that costs the result. Let them play pressure free for a few times and then start playing them in trickier situations. I see those kids as babies, that need to be protected from rushed decisions, here in Brazil is VERY common to throw the kids to the lions because the clubs don't have money, new talents rise here all the time and get their careers destroyed because guess what, they're still 18 to 20yo. If Mourinho had a problem playing players that age, Zouma wouldn't be playing as much as he has. He doesn't have a problem, but he feels like they need to be in a certain level before being integrated. I think Zouma is being integrated brilliantly. What does he have over our kids? French blood? No, his manager assessment that he is ready.
  22. I think I should add that I have absolutely zero problems if José gives a chance or two to youth players. I'm not against the integration, I don't think the time was the best at the Sporting match and Mourinho seems very invested in the League Cup (he knows the league title race as well as UCL will be tight and we may not end up winning either again, so he's probably thinking that it's better make sure he doesn't end trophy-less again). I praised Aké when he was played earlier the season, I was happy to see him in the bench for league games and I'm sure he'll be given more chances and I'll support him and Mourinho 100%. I just can't crucify him for not playing any of them for a considerable stretch of time in those two matches (Sporting and Derby). I'm positive at least Aké will play a few more league games for us (probably FA Cup too) in the following months if he's in form. I don't see the others being there yet. Although they've showed great flashes of talent, it seems like people's memory is short or selective. One name: Kakuta. Kids at age 18 and 19 may look years light ahead of others in the youth competitions but it doesn't mean it'll carried into their senior career. Talent is important, but isn't everything. If you have a chance to train with a high profile manager as José everyday (and some of the kids were promoted to the main squad after all), you learn and grow a lot and he gets to know you. That's the way to go. I like it better than van Gaal throwing Wilson against Liverpool, because that's what he did, he threw the kid there... although Liverpool's team is a joke and Falcao couldn't play even 45 minutes... He probably didn't have many options, but a lot of things could have gone wrong - or right - they were nothing though. The kid didn't do anything wrong, or didn't contribute a lot with the match. Good passenger presentation, but I bet he and van Gaal's and United's fans were all happy.
  23. I really feel for the kid because I saw a lot of glimpses on him to become a long term replacement for Cesc. I hope his luck turns around. There's a reason why I've always disliked Muntari... who hurts their teammate in training to this extent. I swear to God I hate Milan AC for some personal reasons (being an Interista the biggest of them), but now I hate them even more. They got a little of appreciation for me when they were stupid enough to get Torres, but argh, I hate Marco is going though this. I refuse to take part of a discussion about the definition of a term where the main source used is Urban Dictionary... But as we're here, let me share some UD gems So, as the site seems to be written by Arsenal fans, is no surprise it has the INJURY PRONE definitions it has. They're specialized in injuries as much as their manage is in failure. Yep, sounds right. If we're going to stick with this sort of source, let it at least be Wikipedia
