  1. keep in contact and hope one or the other of you can visit... Communication is key or you could risk it all and move to Canada (not necessarily recommending this!) My brother-in-law followed his girl to Australia (sold everything and bought a one way ticket!). Well his girl is now his wife and he is an Australian citizen! Dan is a very free spirit tho and not very attached to his parents or siblings. So his decision wasn't hard for him.
  2. Hugs, if it right it will work out!! I am so sad, I had to say good bye to my parents today GOODBYES SUCK!
  3. Kostas is right! I live in Memphis and I would say racism is worse from the black population to the white than the other way around. I will never forget the day I took my daughter to a park and a group showed up (all African- American (we look caucasian although we are also Native American)) and the leaders of the group asked me why we didn't leave.... I was shocked and asked them should I have? They responded that other whites would have left immediately! I shrugged and told them that I wasn't leaving until it was time to pick my son up. It was an experience I will never forget. The little boys were fascinated with my little blonde haired blue eyed girl!! She treated them like everyone else she's met... because I have taught my children that skin color is the same as eye color and hair color.... everyone is different and it is a wonderful trait of genetics
  4. Thanks all we are staying with my parents now. My husband will be back in a week and then we leave for China on the 24th. We have gotten the lane house we wanted (after looking at 20+) and we have sold our house in Memphis (after a little over a month on the market)! So things are rocketing forward. I hope everyone is doing well!! Miss ya'll
  5. i had a sony mp3 player and found that it was a pain in the butt to deal with. I wouldn't trade my ipod for a sony product!! but that is why we have so many choices in the world.
  6. Thanks all I will try to get on as often as I can but they packed my computer today and the modem gets packed tomorrow!! Take care all, I'll be back as soon as I can
  7. i don't have much of a choice since I will be living in Shanghai in one month!! it's really tough i don't have much of a choice since I will be living in Shanghai in one month!! it's really tough
  8. Hey all, most of you have heard that the family and I are in the middle of a move from Memphis, Tennesse to Shanghai. So I will not be on a whole lot. The good news is that TalkChelsea works in Shanghai so I will be able to keep up to date!! If anyone is headed that way let me know!! Take care and stay safe ((HUGS)) Kerry
  9. Until the defensive line improves I don't see the US winning any championships. But who do we have waiting in the wings to take those positions? There need to be major changes before Brazil 2014.
  10. they blew a 2-0 lead at half time to lose 2-4!!! You've got to be kidding me!!! This is why I will always support club before country and since none of my club players are on the US team.... how the heck to you blow a lead that badly unless you STOP playing!!!
  11. or mine!! Right now I can't complain it's on 35 this week but we can get to the 40's or 50's!!! Especially our heat index. I am exhausted!! Last week we helped host a team from Germany that was here for the week. I had two 19 year old boys staying in my house, which I thank goodness that they were the two oldest boys on the team and very well mannered but still we had to drive them all around town and get them to their games and practice on time. The boys were great, very sweet and thankfully not messy since my house is for sale and I have people coming to look at it. Next week will be just as busy even tho the boys are gone! in one week I will have nothing left in my home and the kids and I will head to my parents house in Michigan for a week or so to visit before we come back to Memphis when my husband returns and we officially move to China!!
  12. I just got the home jersey with Terry on the back My husband told me that everyone will think they have had my name (Kerry) wrong all this time! LOL
  13. Stay strong LDN and try to concentrate on the happy times with your friend. I pray the note he left behind will give his family some answers/closure and not more questions. I wish I could take some of your pain for you, I know how difficult unexpected deaths are and this kind is the worst. Know you aren't alone and if you need some one to "listen" you can contact me anytime. ((HUGS))
  14. Oh sweetie, I am so sorry!! I know it is difficult. Sometimes people hide their depression very well and so that others don't see. Just keep his memory alive and help others recognize the signs of depression. ((HUGS)) I am saying prayers for him and his family!
  15. i was hoping to catch a game in Hong Kong but with the move date set for July 21... It just isn't possible and with my luck Chelsea will tour North America next summer!!
  16. If you make it to the US, put Orlando on your list of places to visit. I would offer to have you come stay with us but since we have 40 days until we move to Shanghai... it'll have to wait a few years until we are back in the US. It was fun, but two days at Universal Studios was more than enough for me. They are quite small and the waits are very long. Disney doesn't have as many big coasters but their fast passes are free and cut down wait time a lot and the parks are much bigger... oh and the food is better! LOL
  17. Sad my sweetie is leaving for Shanghai in the morning and it will be 6 weeks until I see him again.
  18. 4 tickets to Universal Island of adventure (specifically to see the Harry Potter area) Bath fizzies, after sun body butter, and hair soap and conditioner from Basin in Orlando... their stuff is wonderfulTwo Gryffindor t-shirts at Universal Studios' Harry Potter gift shop unfortunately neither fit me!! 4 one-way tickets to Shanghai in July.... today was sad, we sold my Nissan Murano so for the next 40 days I am in a rental... but at least one with style...An Audi Q5
  19. I made it through the first 3 of Martin's books and then got bogged down!! My favorite fantasy series is by Melanie Rawn ... her Dragon Prince books (there are 6) and David Eddings books that start with Pawn of Prophecy. but my favorite is Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", what can I say I am a romantic at heart!! I have also read most of Jeffery Archer's books, but "Cain and Abel" remains my favorite
  20. Thanks Alex. It makes me feel better about sending them to the British School than to the American school. Honestly, I thought the British school just presented itself much better and the atmosphere was better. The American school was amazing as well but the atmosphere and attitude was not what I want in a school. They also have no dress code (at least none was evident and as a teacher and a parent I was a little aghast at what some of them where wearing (or how little they were wearing!). My kids go to a Catholic school so wearing uniforms is normal to them and they don't mind it (Nathan says it means he never has to think about what to wear in the morning... and since he is not a morning person that is a good thing!). Of course, I almost laughed at the American schools admissions person when she proudly stated that they use the "Iowa Curriculum" because I have no idea what that means. We live in Tennessee and curriculum in the US varies state to state and sometimes school district to school district! Which is why or education system is a mess!! How am I feeling?? Happy!! My sweetie came home last night after 2 weeks in China and we are going on vacation next week!!
