  1. The best salad ever invented (a.k.a. Tabbouleh) You should try that ASAP if you have any Lebanese or Syrian restaurants around. I love Tabbouleh! But so rarely find it in Shanghai! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  2. My kids both have a similar Nokia! They do not need smartphones yet! I just upgraded to the iPhone5 have not activated it yet Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. UGH! It is Florida, that has a long way to go! Don't blame the other 49 states for what happens in one state! This was not a federal case and individual states have their own laws. Most are very similar but they can and do differ widely! The trial was not to establish whether he was guilty of shooting Trevon, but to establish his motive and if he truly felt his life was in danger. The Florida law is written in such a way that if he believed that he was in danger and believed he would be killed then he can use deadly force to defend himself. A lot of Southern states have this type of law in regards to handguns but the distinction is that it has to be in your home, business, and/or on your property. Please don't jump to the conclusion that I agree with the verdict, I don't. I think the case was screwed up from the beginning. Examples of how: 1. The police did not arrest him when they should have, but waited until there was an uproar from the media. 2. The concentration that this was racially motivated. it was nota out race, it was about an idiot with a gun who wanted to be a policeman so bad that he convinced himself he had authority to act as the one in his neighborhood. 3. The moment they tried to twist this into a racially based case was the moment they stopped looking at Zimmerman's state of mind. 4. The focus should have been on Zimmerman's belief he could act as the police and why. 5. I believe the man is mentally in unhinged or at least has delusions of grandeur Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  4. My favorite time of day is when I first wake up and all is quiet, I know my kids are safely tucked in their beds and my husband is still asleep. For those few moments life is peaceful and perfect. It doesn't happen often, usually my husband wakes up earlier than I do, but that is my second favorite time. He will bring me a cup of tea when he wakes me up. Such a simple treat but it makes me feel loved because he took the time and effort (4 flights of stairs to bring me the tea) just for me. 5. It's not for everyone but everyone should do what makes them happy. I've been married, but it was to the wrong person for me and I the wrong person for her so we got divorced. It's good when it works tho. The movies and tv shows are like the newspapers, they think misery sells better so tend to stray from the good things in life.in reality it's better to be with the right one rather than a hundred meaningless wrong ones but that is rarely portrayed in the media. I have to agree with Duppy. Ends, I wish you the best of luck and as some one who has been married nearly 20 years I will offer two pieces of advice: communication and having faith in each other are musts for a healthy marriage. My husband and I still set aside one or two nights of a month for each other. We turn off the electronic gadgets and just spend time together. It keeps us connected. 10. Apologies. The way you put that message made me thought you were asking if it's about love. Send me a PM any time you feel the need to talk, I am the "old lady" around here but I have lived enough to understand a whole lot! Tom is good for the truly educated advice. I am freakin' exhausted! Being with family is so stressful, especially my sisters. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  11. Quality over quantity I knew I adored you for a reason! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  12. It's not THAT serious till I have to talk to a professional. And nope, it's not love. Just something related to studies and future working career. I'm here if you want to talk Chuolo was right... I was not asking if it was love Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  13. Will remember that next time ma'am! Although, Stingray's second rule is after thinking about the females, write it anyway! We are such a minority the lads often forget about us ladies! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  14. You will win it.. I will step up my efforts month after month! Enjoy your summer BluesChick! :-D Thanks, I am trying. It is hard being in my parents home as an adult with children! but next week is the train concert with my big sis! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

  16. Ah, my mother also needs them to rest her eyes. I need glasses because I'm very near-sighted, so I generally need them to drive and to actually see the board during classes. Yea, I'm also planning for contacts down the line. But first I want to get used to glasses. I'm a bit afraid of putting anything on my eyes Get the daily wear that you replace either weekly or monthly. I have Bausch and Lomb topic contact lenses that I wear each day for a week then toss out but since I don't wear them daily I can make 3 months worth last me a year @Chuolo and Barbara, diet is just die with a t at the end LOL but seriously, I don't get them either. If you are going to starve yourself or deprive yourself you setting yourself up for failure! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

  18. Thanks, Ankit! Yes, I am on vacation, well our once a year home leave I will be in the US until August 12! I am enjoying it for the most part but family gets stressful after a week or so. So, I try to visit a lot of friends. so I can reduce the stress of being in my parents house constantly. It's weird being back as adult and a parent myself! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  19. Congratz! Math final tomorrow !! @bimtf Congrats @yuvala Best of luck, get sleep tonight! And a good breakfast with protein in it tomorrow you need your brain rested and powered! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. I survived the inquisition.... I mean visit to my in-laws. I really don't like going there without Doug, his parent's stress me out with their constant questions. Most of the time there are no answers to the questions (ex. When are you moving back to the US? Where will you move?). And then there is the attempts to guilt me by making statements about how long it will be until she sees her grandkids again and wondering how big they will be. The guilt might have worked a little if they had not turned down our offer to buy their airline tickets to come visit us in Shanghai! My head is still aching LOL Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  21. Yeah, I've heard they aren't as good as well. Still going to watch it though! My kids are sticklers about movie adaptations and will point out every single error! Having not read the book, I thought the movie was decent, but not stellar. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  22. Well i am sort of voting with tounge in cheek but after the scandal that was WHS winnimg it last month, anyone can win it despite how active they have been. DDA does nominate me most months <3 but I think it is sweet! @CFC Lucas, I have been gone and will be gone most of the summer as I moved at the end of June and am in the US visiting family for the first time in a year. I think the nomination is more out of a desire to see me actually make the poll or win (**gasp** what a shock that would be!). I honestly never worry about it but I adore DDA for the dedication @Stingray... Congrats Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. My kids liked the books so much more than the movie! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  24. I had to read it in high school... In 1984 LOL Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
