I used an individual stat of Mikel's to back up a point about Mikel. You have every right to point out what you think is the logical gap in my argument. While you have been (over, and over again for the past 5 pages or so) trying to make conclusions about Mikel based on a team stat. That is an incredibly flawed logic because there are tons of other variables involved as has been proved above with examples. You used a chart that showed where Mikel was standing and called it "action areas" and you use his pass completion stat as evidence he is a great player even though his passes are slow and negative . His terrible win play stats only back up the fact that when he plays we are likely to lose/draw. These are the reasons why without stats - Is what he does and what he is capable of enough? How does what he contributes effect the team and the results ? What did he do ,he had a 95% pass completion rate that slowed us up and he allowed Osman to waltz past him for the goal . I need him to clip a first time pass over the top now and again to stretch their back four ,I need him to crunch into a tackle and spring a counter . I need him to disposses Osman in their half like Maka used to and find Lampard like he did for that wonderful goal v Bayern Munich ,I have never seen him do it ? Maybe he has ,not very often though . Everything is slow and in front of the opposition ,they know what to expect ,it will be a slow build up with a couple of touches and a safe pass. I need him to not ball watch and to stay with runners,and be aware of what is around him . He doesnt do enough for me ,John Terry must have a 95% successful pass rate ,but is that all he has?

What? ,I think I said that Dave's stats may well have something to do with him not being in the team ,not one of our best performers for me and the stats back that up and hence he has not played this season . Now do me a favour ,put Lampard's stats up when he starts my reading of Mikel is not just based on stats ,there is also an opinion of what I see in him above ,the stats back what I say up ,especially with regard to his passing which is safe,slow,predictable and negative . I am of the opinion his inclusion in our team badly influences our ability to win matches that is what I see and the reasons are given above ,the stats ONLY back that opinion up.

CHOULOU saying stats are irrelevant now? Not as irrelevant as his graph that showed where Mikel stood on the pitch and he titled it "Action Areas" I suppose a 95% slow backwards and sideways pass completion rate that slows our counter attacks down do it for some ,not for me . What I want from my DM is someone who can close Osman down( and many others over the years) on the edge of our box and not let him waltz past unchallanged and create the goal . We need much more from a DM than slow passes that slow our counters down and is a terrible defender with NO awareness . And yes that stat on pass completion is the bigget fraud of a stat anyone can state.

Well lets have a look at the stas when the arselicking Lampard has played this season and when he has not? You are a disgrace son for disrespecting a Chelsea legend and sucking up to the Emenalo arse licking Mikel ,who else is picking a player who when plays ,we are likely to lose? If it is not his mate?

A very sad day for democracy ,thanks for this stat bleed-blue (Fellow Chelsea fan) the only stat that I see as relevant . We have seen such rubbish posted on here about action areas that were really an indication of where someone was standing on the pitch and a pass rate that slows us down and takes us nowhere. Watch Mikel again on the Everton goal on Saturday ,if that is a DM I am Roman Abramovich ,Mikel commits himself and Osman plays around him then he ball watches (he has a habit of doing this) and leaves Osman who then plays a simple one two around Mikel and we are in trouble ,a good DM does not let that happen and it happens a lot with Obi as the stats that matta show. The stats at the top of this page may not be a coincidence.

No you dont get it ,nothing to do with liking Mikel ,he is rubbish and is conning all of us ,passing backwards slowly and not defending like a good D/M is what it is all about ,when he plays we are likely to lose or draw,it is that I do not like .

Back in the deeper role now ,he would have dealt with Barkley yesterday much better than we did and driven him away from our goal with his ability to intercept and counter . He was looking very good in that role considering it was early days and when he wins the ball he is positive and our counter attacks are much quicker,this was obviously lacking yesterday and we were back to slow,slow and another negative outcome as result of that.

What do you want me to praise him for the games we win ,when he is absent? When he plays we have a big chance of not winning,what about that do you not understand? When for instance Lampard plays we are likely to win . Do you understand cause and effect? or are you in the 95/100 pointless passes camp?

Lampard has to come back we need goals and he creates as well as scores,the Everton game further proved that . Luiz is worth more starts in midfield, as first choice Rammy is suspended. The back four really picks itself now . You cant right Schurrle off after one bad game and Mata in for Oscar . Willian not ready yet?

Thought he looked good ,movement was way ahead of anything we have seen from Nando and he must improve with fitness and familiarity.

Cahill and Terry were looking good and building an understanding as defenders ,Luiz is unpredictable and briliant in the same breath ,when it comes to defending you do not need unpredictable ,Jose has said he sees Luiz as a centre half ,but he has a lot to learn in that role for now.

We lost 1-0 and difficult to score when you are on the bench,Lampard is never a passenger when he plays ,Mikel was ok for him ,but he is a passenger in the bigger picture. He played ,we lost again. Ramires,Mikel is a poor partnership but anyone Mikel is a poor partnership inc Lampard-Mikel. Lampard must be back for the Champions League ,my only take on yesterday was ,Jose was saving him after a tough week playiing for England and we paid the price again with another loss when Mikel plays. The stats do not lie ,when he plays we are likely to lose .
