  1. "Chelsea NextGen coach Dermot Drummy believes there are insufficient opportunities for academy graduates to make their mark in the first team." http://www.soccerway.com/news/2013/March/31/drummy-not-enough-opportunities-for-youth/
  2. Ow ok, wouldve been cheap then, especially considering Porto's transfer policy
  3. For our linkup play i would only consider Luiz tho in that situation, especially if oscar is not playing.
  4. Moutinho for just 25M? Doubt Porto will accept that, 40 at least.
  5. If i had 80-90M (in case we sell/loan out for full wages... players like Torres, Benayoun, Malouda, Ferreira, Essien, Kalou, thats very doable i think) i would get 3 players: 40-50M allround quality CM with good defensive quality's that played some games at high level already (assuming we stick with a pivot) Italy: Vidal - Juventus They are looking for money to get Sanchez, a very "aggressive"/good tackler, has an average of over 5 per game, with good technique and what not. Regular at Chili NT. Germany: Lars Bender - Leverkussen 4+ tackles/2+ interceptions (which is twice as much as mikel fe), would be pretty perfect for us since offensively he's also quite good and can also dribble a bit (get him instead of shurrle if you want to pay lots for a leverkussen player board...), he's also getting his caps already at german NT. 15-20M Central defender Alderweireld - Ajax / Can also play as right back if needed. Well same club Vermaelen/Vertonghen come from so you can be sure his distribution will be decent, he could become better than them defensively, Vertonghen is better in offence for sure tho. I expect Tottenham to make a move for him this summer to partner him with Vertonghen again as they were in Ajax, wouldn't be good if that happened, would instantly make them one of the best central defences in the PL in the long term for just 25-30M, especially in distribution. Godin - Athletico 8 clearances / game -> better than ramos/silva/terry/kompany there.. same as ferdinand. Would be great next to Luiz i think. 20M Striker (if we ever decide to sell both torres and ba i would get both) Lewandowski - Dortmund Lamela - Roma 10 goals in 17 matches this season as a forward, he can also play as a winger so you already know what type of striker he is, lots of pace/great technique, him and Lukaku could possibly give us one of the best possible strikercombinations in the long term. And perhaps a 4th luxury/bargain/unneeded CM signing for squaddepth, depending which of the above we would be getting: 15M Midfielders (best one's i know we can get for 15M/we can use) Nainggollan - Cagliari His stats are great, same for his skills, juve/inter are interested tho and i think juve would get him to replace vidal anyways so we will have to act fast if we want him. Van Ginkel - Vitesse Very promising and we could prolly get him rather cheap there. Cabaye - Newcastle Well would be bit more expensive prolly. Gonalon - Lyon Offensive not that good, but very solid defensive, 3 tackles/clearances each game ratio, promising, would be good competition for Mikel (perhaps better already). Strootman - PSV Think Van Bommel Who would you go for with a budget of 80M this summer?
  6. lol those dreamteams aren't quite balanced 2-5-3 Jordan Lukaku's: Marcelo - Vermaelen / Di Maria - Schweinsteiger - Ozil - Alonso - Bale / De Bruyne - Lukaku - Ronaldo Thorgan Hazards: Kompany - Ramos / Iniesta - Witsel - Xavi - Fellaini - Ribery / Hazard - Falcao - Neymar
  7. I think its the first time i am comparing him with Messi, and even so i think this one is righteous/doesn't say in any ways he's as good as messi (doesn't mean i might think so!!! )?
  8. Too expensive and too much of a risk in comparison with Cavani. Last months he hasn't even been that good (reason why real madrid withdrew). Lewandowski for me anyways.
  9. If we sign a striker i prefer lewandowski, he should be more than good enough. Falcao and Cavani will be too expensive.
  10. About some of our loaned out players, I do think some will be able to make it into our staring 11 instantly already, their stats/how they are playing at their clubs prove so. Youth players, We should add some in our first 25, those that are proving themselfs in the next gen tournament fe, who knows, some could already be ready to sub, play in cups... Signings I only see 1 must here, thats at least one allround high quality CM (24-26 years would be perfect) that can pass, has creativity, is strong, wins a lot of duels, can tackle or makes a lot of interceptions. Someone established with experience at high level $$, the central midfield and central defence are the most important area's to have experienced players in anyways,... i dont even mind us using our whole transferbudget for this. (but well we should have more than that anyways i guess ) All other positions we have loaned out/youth players that have a good chance on succeeding. Perhaps also a quality/talented central defender (preferably one that can also play as a back) & striker that will not cost "much" can also be considered since that would lower the risk of us lacking one in case someone flops/loses form/gets injured. If possible, english. Even without signings you can already see we should make it atleast in top 2/3 with a bit more luck / better manager / a team that will get more used to eachother, especially in the attacking area but to make us one of europe's finest again certainly a quality CM suited for or pivot is needed. And a board that has patience would also help here... so we can work on our position/linkup play, a great manager can still combine both (winning and building squads) but it might take some time before we get a balanced/attractive playing team.
  11. "Hazard said: I am playing all the time, which is what I wanted." Yeh he's kinda like messi there, physically he's a player that can play everything without getting injured, this year he had to adapt so that did'nt go aswell also because of the amount of games we played, but he always said that at lille before his transfer. I think he would rather play all the games at lille fe than join a club where he can only play 30-50% of the games and earn (a lot) more because of his love for football.
  12. Yeh that would probably be the only positive thing about not finishing in top 4, more chance for our players on loan/youth due to less big signings. And perhaps more time to train and work on our positionplay and what not what most of our players could really use.. But with a proper board/manager that shouldn't even make a difference tho.
  13. @leif, dont always agree with him, he's kinda weird at times but his stuff is usually interesting/good to read 1 thing tho Leif, you gotta reply more often when someone makes a reply on something you said to defend yourself if he doesn't agree with it, its easy to just ignore it then.
  14. Anyways i feel we gotta defeat them at home...
  15. Well was looking at last few months before that they won 6 and 1 tie + i think their players were getting tired, 4 of those 8 were at EL tho and were quite unlucky in those pl defeats
  16. Tottenham are also flying atm, Bale/Vertonghen have been in very good form lately, our game against him at home will be crucial i think.
  17. we better win now! expecting azpi cahill luiz cole mikel ramires mata oscar hazard ba
  18. dude it is, with this selection a top 3 is a must.
  19. Ok so we've seen some crappy/unexplainable decision making already by Benitez, Like ramires/lampard midfield against manchester united (FA cup) + no Hazard in start 11 (after playing him in EL) and several other cases come to mind. And you would think he figured out by now you cant play with ramires/lampard in pivot but nooooo... the tard now subs hazard for marin (ok good, now we can start playing) but then goes ahead and takes of mikel (ok he didn't have a good game but we need him unless you sub him for luiz) for ramires and oscar for Benayoun?? We're done then against a decent soton side. On top of all this he starts with marin/moses & oscar -> that's never going to work, or you add hazard (mata seems to be sick) in the mix or you leave oscar out, put lampard further in the field, and make it a battle at midfield by adding luiz/rarmires. Now you have oscar who can do shit (not his fault), flanks that are no good and a hopeless targetman, how do you expect to score like that... And all this while we couldve really used the 3 points in our battle for top 4 (heck we couldve ended as 2nd) just because Benitez started with a fucked up lineup against manchester united to begin with, whom we will have to play again in 2 days because of him. If the board has any dignity left after sacking DM like that, they sack Benitez now or they are just a bunch of friggin hypocrits. We cant do worse without him, just make the youthcoach orso manager for the time being. As for the game, Our wingers/"striker" couldve pressed/hold the ball more, mikel really shouldve used his head more dont know what he was thinking at times, one of his worst games this season he prolly had no clue what to do, and our fullbacks were also clueless after a while. Do we actually have any plan if we arent dominating games i wonder?

  21. didnt know they were thefront 4...? and to regain possesion when they lose it
  22. Front 4 has to press more, make more space and hold the ball longer Mikel has to start using his head... But seriously this all fsws fault You are playing with 9,5 man here, oscar can do shit (not his fault) & torres Or we strengthen (literally) our midfield (move up lamps, bring in luiz in pivot) Or we get hazard/ba on the field 6 shots on target soton, 1 for us,39 possesion seriously...and fsw didn't sub yet, can someone fire him already seriously how can keeping him be fine and saccing DM that fast?! bunch of hypocrits at board
