We have been so used to and for so long watching a striker he couldn't be that aware anymore let alone look dangerous. Right now there is no better striker around that is as sharp and consistent as Costa.

Carragher is spot on, playing a lone roll as a striker you have to be ready to put everything on the line to succeed and win out. Take Costa v Sporting the other night, he wasn't amazing but he was effective. He dropped deep and gave it easy as well as fetching others into play- He also hunted down brilliantly....Balotelli didn't do that and doesn't do that. He's already cutting a frustrated figure up front and it's showing massively. This was a poor signing and I say that even at this early stage.
