I don't see what Kovacic has offered thus far to warrant a permanent move. Buying someone like Icardi would show intent, though. Kovacic whilst he hasn't been amazing is an absolute quality player, signing him fattens the squad with quality. The striker situation should be paid for by offloading shite deadwood.

We need to spend big and buying Kovacic and a striker, that's a sign of intent.

An under-performing player should be benched, it's really that simple, that's how it should always be and how it was years ago. That's whether it's Hazard, Kante or Rudiger, nobody should be allowed to under perform as it's detrimental to the teams progress.
