If we are to have a chance this year it needs players like Lampard ,Torres and Drogba returning to their best form . It needs Mata to provide what he showed in his cameo debut. I am sure that Frank's International career is coming to an end . He has been unlucky to have been selected as the scapegoat for England's failure by the more moronic of England (or Liverpool's) supporters. The question is really how long Frank's career with our club will last . The end of his England career could prolong his Chelsea one . Conversely it could hasten it if Frank decides to retire still at the top of the tree. I believe this would be a pity as I think he has still much to offer even if not as a starter in every game ...but his experience used wisely and sparingly.

I think the problem arises in match day threads ...members do tend to use emotive phrases when things are going wrong . It happened a lot with Ballack in his last two years .. Most players get stick on here when things are going wrong in games . We have relied a lot in the past for Frank or Drog to dig us out of a hole At one time a Frank free kick might be a point winner. I think when there is a lack of respect is when things cool down and people use expressions such as "he is shit". Incidentally I think the "Kalouda joke " is past its sell by date .. Seems some members find it a must use phrase in every thread.

Well said . Seems too often we see vitriolic criticism of our players . In truth though we have missed the pre injury Lampard. I had hoped a long summer break would have solved last seasons problems , alas that doesn't seem the case. I hope I am wrong but I worry that his career is in decline . No longer have I the confidence that in a tight game "Frank will save us"' Still he will remain a true Chelsea legend and his goal scoring from midfield probably will never be seen again ... Don't mean this to sound like an obituary ..just recognising age does catch up eventually.
