Good win today. We barely even got out of second gear and still comfortably won. Some key points: The bad: - Monterrey's goal. Not sure what happened. Luckily it meant more than nothing. - Is it just me or is Mikel getting worse? He just never does something that makes go "Wow, he's good". The good: - Torres scored again, that's three games in a row which is (I could be wrong), the best he's done in Chelsea colors? - Oscar was good. Not great, but good. Can't wait to see a 24 year old Oscar with experience. - FSW knows what he's doing. I hate admitting it. The great: - Mata/Hazard - Brilliant linking plays between the two. Hazard tore them a new asshole with his speed. Mata was Mata. which is awesome. - Cahill/Ivanovic - Solid defending. Held down the fort so damn well! - Luiz - I've been calling for a midfield role for him, and I think he just showed the haters what he can do. He's capable of great things and I thinks he has the potential to be a Chelsea captain and legend.

Corinthians arch enemies have produced a Chelsea/Palmeiras shirt.

Hope that the guys don't get over-confident from this game. Corinthians are no pushovers.

I was kind of hoping Frank might have got a start alongside Mikel or Ramires.

Completely agree but there are a lot of rumors going on about Paulinho. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/dec/11/chelsea-paulinho-club-world-cup http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-gossip-paulinho-of-corinthians-1484888

11M buyout clause. Bargain. Becoming a regular for Brazil in the deep midfield role and would know Ramires well from there. Well rounded DM from what I hear. I think Inter already tried to sign him earlier in the year. Another Brazilian, not quite sure he's what we need though, some people want a deep lying playmaker and some want a destroyer in midfield. Only January will tell.. Will like the club be watching him closely in our matches in the CWC..

I hope he can continue getting goals, but, perhaps most importantly , that if he fails to score in a game, he won't go back to a slump. I'd rather see him score goals on a regular basis than score four in two games, then go without goals for 4-5 games.

If we win this we'll most likely face Corinthians in the final. Are they THAT good or do people overrate them?
-
To be honest I'd be fairly happy if we just won this and got CL qualification this season. It's a transition season and I've accepted that.
-
The problem with Torres is his mentality. When the team is playing well he plays well, when the team is playing bad he is nowhere to be found.
-
Humberto Suazo. Top goalscorer in history of the team with 100 goals.
-
By some distance our best player again this season. He just gets better and better.

Any news about this Monterrey team?

It's a funny old world. Mata deserves it though.

The pictures of the players on the way to Japan.

Not to jinx it, but next week this guy could be National and Club, European and World Champion.

Against Nordsjaelland and Sunderland.

Anyone who want to lose this cup is mental. What is better to motivate your players against Southampton than winning a trophy? This is a little bit of history here and we might not have another chance to be World Club Champions. I think this is going to be a very important trophy in the future and it's vitally important to win it. I remember ManU dropping out of the FA Cup to focus on it. The global attention the competition receives will do the club a lot of good. And if we win this i'll take great pride in using the phrase "Champions of the World" as often as possible.

Seem to be a lot of people that thinks this is a bad time for us to go. I personally am really looking forward to this and I think a trophy could really give the players the confidence they need to hit the ground running in the Premier League when they get back. Bring it home boys, bring it home!

Let today, December 8th 2012, be declared the day that Torres finally found his pair of balls. I was wondering where they went!

No Romeu in Japan by the looks of it.. Quite a shame. He seemed so up for it.
