  1. Best piece of business we will do this year. Mata has been superb for us and fully deserves a significant rise. He leads by example and is a credit to the club both on and off the field.
  2. The problem is that although you and I think almost every striker is above Torres. Roman clearly wants his investment to pan out. He has hardass business mind that his investment can't fail and will eventually come good. It ain't all about Rafa, there's a lot pressure on him.
  3. Even if we brought Lukaku back he still wouldn't get a game over Torres. And even if he's a great sub, Torres will never be subbed while Rafa is there.
  4. They always raise their game at Stamford Bridge
  5. Hahaha that is literally the most absurd rumor I've ever heard. He was rubbish for the most part in the Bundesliga and he's older than Blondie. £30m ? £7m ? I wouldn't pay more than £0m for him.
  6. History suggests that this will not be the score, I would love it to be but for some crazy reason we always struggle against Aston Villa.
  7. Noprob. True, both are just as important as JT. They showed that against Leeds ! Guess we don't have to worry about the captain armband for a while now.

  10. For all those advocating the thought of playing Torres + another striker, he played for 13 hours with Drogba on the pitch, both 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, and he never scored one goal.
  11. Blondie will get pitch invaded if he scores a hat trick.
  12. I'd even welcome Grant. Seriously. Anybody but Interim. This is how bad it's become. But one of these days, in the not too distant future, I'll wake up, log on to this site & I'll see a thread with a title something along the lines of: Rafa Benitez - Now confirmed ex-Chelsea interim manager. Just a little something to look forward to.
  13. If we lose this one I whole-heartedly expect FSW to be sacked afterward.
  14. Not long to go.. Just 13 days until we get our shiny new Falcao to replace that worn out Torres doll.
  15. Torres : "So that's what team spirit looks like":
  16. To be honest I wasn't even fussed with that, we just made it so easy for them with some of the worst passing and displays of a lack of general control you could ever imagine from a top level side. Utterly disgusting in a game of this magnitude.
  17. If he gets banned for 3 matches he will miss our match. Great news !
  18. That Mikel story is complete bollocks. Is it the Guardian or was is the Fail? Look at how it's written.. to me it seems clearly made up to appeal to those who thinks he's a loose cannon. The quotes read like a pre-schooler's homework.
  19. People forget how good Walcott was (barring injuries) when he was alongside Fabregas and Nasri, players who were able to pick out his runs and made him dangerous. He also forces teams to play deep just by being on the field due to his pace. That being said he is injury prone and not of a position that we require.
  20. Ah, sorry for my mistakes ! and btw i'm a girl.
  21. My observations on Corinthians: 1) Their attack of Guerrero, Martinez, Emerson and Liedson is not to be sneezed at. Guerrero's off-the-ball movement will need to be watched, while Martinez is both quick and tricky. Liedson is a good finisher, but Emerson presents the biggest threat. He's tricky, reasonably pacy, fairly creative as a second striker and has excellent movement and has excellent off-the-ball movement. 2) I therefore suggest a physical approach be taken against these guys, to exploit their relative lack of strength and in the case of Guerrero, a volatile temperament. If we get up Guerrero's nose enough, then he may act out and get himself sent off. There is a good chance Azpi will get beaten if forced to take on Martinez by himself, so he will need some defensive support. That should probably come from Mikel or even Moses if necessary - I don't really like the idea of dragging our CB's out of position. 3) Tite, like many Brazilian coaches, favors a 4-2-2, or the 'magic box' notoriously used by Wanderley Luxemburgo at Real Madrid. This formation can be hard to penetrate because of the two holding midfielders in front of the two centre backs and is a pretty good counter-attacking formation because of the two centre midfielders are free to move forward, but for wide they rely exclusively on the full-backs. Their full-backs aren't as impressive as their attack, so if you stop them from coming forward, Corinthians would therefore have no width and would see relatively little possession. It would therefore not surprise me if Benitez deployed Moses on one of the flanks. On the other hand, Benitez may choose to try and simple overwhelm their weaker defense by committing Mazacar and maybe even Luiz forward. That wouldn't surprise me, either - it would distract Paulinho from getting forward, at least. 4) Corinthians were surprisingly mediocre against a modest Al-Ahly side. They need to play (much) better than that to beat us.
