  1. Maybe I'm allowing my dislike for the fat one to cloud my judgment, but as soon as I read this I thought someone in his camp might have leaked it in order to try and impress the Chelsea fans with his 'tactical nous'. The fact is that it's not exactly revealing or in-depth.
  2. So is this one of those loan moves that you find 'fucking baffling'? :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
  3. Signing Butland would have made perfect sense, but he didn't want to sit on the bench which is perfectly understandable. As for this whole selling Courtois business, it would be a very risky thing to do. Yes we would have made a massive profit on him in the space of a couple of years but the possibility of transitioning from one solid keeper to another is something very few teams manage and it would've saved us a potentially massive headache somewhere down the road. But it does once again bring up this question of which keeper we go with. There is a very compelling argument for us to cash in on Cech in the next 18 months and go with Courtois. However I am worried that if we do get Mourinho that he will stick with what he's familiar with and go with Cech. That leaves Courtois in the wind, although I'm sure Jose is familiar with him to. This is one of the nicer problems we have at the moment.
  4. I believe it was me who said something similar to that, in a response to the notion that we couldn't replace Lamps. Do you have a particular problem with that or is simply that I might have impugned the glory of the 'magic Lamps' that I have drawn your ire?
  5. Would love to see Feruz on the bench for this, with Ake and maybe even Loftus-Cheek. Don't really care about the result in all honesty. Stupid tin-pot cup that's only going to be a distraction.
  6. Moses is not 'utter shit' compared to anyone. He's a Chelsea player, a very good one at that, and deserves a bit more fucking respect. Neymar looks like a great little player and he has potential, but he's only really done it in the Brazilian league so far. Until he actually does something in a league that's a bit more challenging there's some massive question marks over him.
  7. This season you're right but next season we will hopefully have strengthened that central midfield area and I don't know if there is a place for him. He's great in the games like Arsenal where we're playing with our backs to the wall (as in the second-half), but really we should be controlling the tempo of games better than that and I don't know if he's the man for it.
  8. I don't think he chose mental illness and alcohol addiction.
  9. Pathetic - still can't defend a point you made and lack the balls to admit you might have been wrong. In what way am I clueless on this issue? You think Bamford's loan has been pointless? What about the lads at Vitesse? Have they been pointless? On second thoughts, don't try and talk about football. Just call me clueless instead.
  10. Actually you said All Chelsea loans are fucking baffling and when you were challenged on it you just started bellyaching.
  11. If JT isn't ready I'd put in Cahill and if Luiz is 100% then I'd give Lamps a rest. Why?
  12. Completely different situations. As others have said, Cole is the best in the world at what he does and we won't have to sign a replacement for him next year. With Frank, whether we sign him or not we need to sign someone to replace him in the first-team.
  13. Apparently this is what Arsenal's 'supporters trust' do. http://www.arsenaltrust.org/activity/what-we-do And this is the United one. http://www.joinmust.org/about/index.php It's raison d'etre is apparently simple - We envisage a future where the supporters of Manchester United FC have a meaningful ownership stake in the club. That doesn't seem likely in our case so I'm still not sure what the point of the whole thing is.
  14. Turnball Ferreira Terry Ivanovic Bertrand Ramires Lampard Benayoun Oscar Marin Torres
  15. Is he our best player in that midfield two? Probably. But that's not a good thing considering the problems we've had in that position both this season and last season. We need to get a Modric or someone similar in so that this team can compete at the top-level. I think Lamps is capable of doing that against the likes of Stoke or Wigan (but admittedly he struggled against QPR, Southampton, Swansea and Reading) and maybe even Arsenal for 45 minutes but we can't go forward relying on him to be the go to guy in the big games anymore.
  16. To build success for the future. AVB had to go and Robbie isn't a top-class manager. That doesn't mean we should've hired Benitez but there weren't many other options. And when we signed Torres, he wasn't a flop. We didn't decide to sign a flop - that would just be thick.
  17. Signing Lamps to a new contract would be nice, but it has to fit in with the club's priorities and right now we need a deep-lying playmaker more than we need to re-sign Lamps. If both these things can be achieved at the same time then he's a great option to have coming off the bench.
  18. Things have changed. There's no reason to keep believing in something if it's no longer 'true'. I think we can use him for one more season as a bench option in the big games and a guy who can take the strain off others for 60 minutes in matches like today. Plus we're one year out from the World Cup and he'll need to be playing competitive football next season which means there's more pressure to stay in the Premier League. I really don't want him going elsewhere. This is all based on us getting a big manager in (ideally Mourinho) who can handle big personalities.
  19. He's played reasonably well in recent weeks, there's an increasing possibility that we'll get Mourinho and McEachran is almost certainly another year away from being ready for us. I don't think he's good enough to be a first-teamer every week but he'd be great coming off the bench if we're chasing a goal.
  20. Great finish today and a good performance. Maybe this is his level now, coming in against the Stokes and Wigans of the world who will give him time in midfield and fail to pick up his late runs in and around the box. But do I think we can win the league with him as one of our midfield two? Probably not. And he should be paid accordingly, but it's great to see him banging them in still.
  21. Great finish and a decent game today, but I really don't think he has much of a future on the right-wing and I've had reservations about him playing in midfield for a while. Not quite sure where he fits in the next 12-18 months.
  22. The result was very flattering and we had the same problems we've had in other matches. Wigan just weren't good enough to exploit our weaknesses like other teams have. Every problem again stems from the midfield failing to control the tempo of the game and letting it get away from them. We looked better with Luiz in midfield but the amount of shots he takes is getting stupid now. Again, he needs someone to play alongside him who can tell him to calm down, keep possession and not keep aiming for the top tier. Torres worked hard but whatever talent he had has just evaporated. He was given plenty of space today but simply isn't a top-class striker. The good points were the MOTM performance by Azpi (what a buy by the much-maligned board), Hazard's return and solid performance and the best performance by Oscar in a while bringing his Brazil form into his league games. But Wigan really are a pretty soft team and I think everyone was expecting them to score a second. Luckily Frank did what he does best and Wigan rolled over.
  23. I hit the road and came back. Have you managed to work out which loans are 'fucking baffling'. You said they all were, but are you still sure about that now that I've shown you which players the club has actually loaned out?
  24. I challenged what you said and once again you failed to back it up. You're a troll plain and simple.
