So his brainfarts are his 'style'? Who gives a fuck what he does for Brazil....this is Chelsea, not Brazil. This is amongst the silliest things I've read. You clearly don't understand the mental aspects of sport and how important they are. Ergo, I won't bother responding to you further on this topic.

I hate playing Liverpool. Have done for years, hate their fans, hate their self-pitying bullshit (expecting black armbands all round for Freddy the Chicken who found his way into a bargain bucket on Friday) and hate matches against them. I would rather us play any other team than this lot. They won't have played a team like us all season though. We won't give them space to get behind, we'll close the lines that Suarez finds so much fortune in and we'll look to hit them on the break. Set-pieces are going to be massive for us and I predict a tense, horrible game decided on fine margins. Jose needs to work his magic on these cunts.
-
Fantastically talented but has issues. If we played 433 then he could be a player for us but not sure if he's quite so suited to the double pivot. Having said that he's young, he's out of Manchester and maybe Jose could be a positive influence on him but he's by no means a no-brainer like Luke Shaw.
-
Brainfart moment....for some reason thought he was at Inter. Time to put the mulled wine and sherry down.
-
Hate the guy but if he's available on loan in January and he isn't cup tied.....we're desperate.
-
Possibly. Personally I'd just ask Oscar to sit a bit deeper and work his bollocks off.
-
I think it'll be this, although if we went with Essien in a 433 then I wouldn't be surprised.
-
You're completely missing the point. Technique is important but so are the mental aspects of the game. I've seen you denounce these aspects of the game so many times, yet they're fundamental in EVERY sport. It's got nothing to do with you being Brazilian but having a complete lack of knowledge of top-level sports. You can go through any sport and see that the BEST were almost always mentally stronger than their competitors (Jordan, Russell, Manning, Brady, Schumacher etc.). David Luiz is a technically brilliant player but lots of us have concerns over the mental aspect of his game and rather than defend it, you'd rather marginalise it's importance.

I used to say the same thing about Tony Adams. I didn't understand the hype about him until I saw him playing in front of the Shed one day and my old man just said to watch him. I've been lucky to see the same thing for the last decade with JT, this amazing reading of the game to be in the right spot so you don't need great pace to get there.
-
He's been dropped TWICE this season. John Terry, Azpi and Ramires are consistent. Then you've got Hazard, Mikel, Cech, Oscar, Willian and Ivanovic who are fairly consistent (plus Mikel in a 433). Under that you've got our strikers and Luiz.
-
I actually like his workrate. Against West Brom he sprinted back in the 89th minute (ish) to help defend a counter-attack....but that's been the high point of his time here. I don't blame him because he's 32 and chased a cheque all the way to some Russian shithole so is out of practice but his signing sums up everything that went wrong at this club over the last decade. He's reminiscent of the George Weah signing, but not as good.
-
He's 59 and won fuck all. Thank god we didn't end up with him. You're going to have to show me the part of the table where it says how you won a game. You still get 3 points for a win and to be honest I could give a fuck what fans like you want from a team. You bitched and moaned after the Arsenal game when the vast majority of supporters saw what a good point that was in context. Just change your name to BluePellegriniKing and go to Bluemoon. Of course we can.
-
He's a striker. Even some of his passes were wayward. We bought a striker out of semi-retirement at the age of 32 and he's not that good anymore. Why is anyone surprised? It's not his fault. The problem is that we loaned out a hungry young striker a couple of days later. Eto'o isn't the problem, but he's a symptom of the problem.
-
He also conceded 3 at home to Arsenal (should've been more), 2 away to Fulham, 1 away to Southampton, 2 away to West Brom, 3 away to Cardiff, 2 at the Bridge.... He's got a fantastic squad with great strikers who will bail him out. As for Malaga, if they could defend a lead for 5 minutes then they'd have gone through. So yes, luck.
-
Pellegrini is just Keegan with more money. The guy can't organise a TEAM (teams defend and attack). You've won a charming carriage clock for being the one millionth person to say that in the last 12 years. Congrats.
-
Oh look, calling people retarded. Have some respect for your 'fellow Chelsea supporters' (it's Christmas so I'm being kind). No-one here hates him, they simply wish he'd live up to his potential and become someone we can rely on. When you spend £20 million on a defender then you want a bit more consistency. That's what 'turns the lights up on him'. As for him being here to stay, I'm not so sure. I think there are other options out there who are potentially world-class, just like David Luiz is and if a big bid comes in for him then I can't see the club dismissing it out of hand. Not in the slightest is it underrated. In fact I've seen people laud his number of interceptions in a match even when he hasn't made any. You'd expect him to make more than other defenders (although he recorded the same number as JT did yesterday) because of the way he plays, but if it doesn't come off then he leaves gaps behind him and that's happened a fair few times too. I think everyone here understands the appeal of David Luiz. He does have world-class potential and he's technically one of the best defenders around. Plus in a world of social media where funny hair and mannerisms dominate the discourse, he obviously will attract a lot of devotees because he can make a funny Vine clip. But there's a lot of people who value the mental aspect of the game and think that David Luiz is still erratic despite being 26. If he could sort that out then he'd be a nailed-on started in every game.
-
Torres has also started in games like Spurs and Arsenal away where he was a lot more isolated than Eto'o might have been in games like yesterday's, They're both varying degrees of shit, but Eto'o's signing was a disgrace when we subsequently loaned out Lukaku. The expectations for him were low, and he's still failing to meet them.
-
Don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I'm a Chelsea supporter first and foremost, not a Gary Cahill fan. What's the matter? You seen a gap open up as forum gimp since ChelseasMessiah left and you're looking to make it your own? One more waste of forum space to add to the ignore list since they offer fuck all insight on this club and it's players.
-
Becoming a match-winner for us. Needs to do it a bit more consistently and against the big teams, but he seems to be steadily improving.
-
Exactly. We defended AS A TEAM. All 11 guys getting back and then working their bollocks off to get forward and support the attack. We seemed to want to be first to every ball, be it Mikel's tackle on Arteta or Lampard getting to the knockdown first for a shot. This was a great foundation that we need to build on. The lack of a clinical striker is all to clear though and we need that threat up front to keep defences honest, but last night's team was the type of team that can scare oppositions.
-
We played some good football today.
-
If we had gone for it and lost (which was entirely possible because Arsenal are a good team) then people like you would have been the first ones moaning. The fact is that we negated Arsenal's threat and created more chances than them. That's how you win leagues.
-
Absolutely fantastic today. Showed some real steel, passed it nicely and really added something to his game.
-
So we should rely on luck. So you want more attacking players and maybe a few luck rabbits feet then yes? All this tactical bullshit is just a waste of time...let's just 'ride our luck'. You're not disappointed with the result, but you don't like the way we achieved it. That's a little ungrateful isn't it, especially at this time of year. When our shape did break down, Arsenal created chances. This was an absolutely fantastic display of discipline in horrendous conditions against a team that plenty of people thought would turn us over. And the fact is that we created more chances. Yet a small group of fickle fans are moaning about the lack of ambition. It's fucking laughable what some people come out with.
-
You're going to have to explain this 'park the bus' stuff. We created more chances than them, had the better chances and this was all done away from home. What exactly do you want?
