I see Torres as a cancer that is slowly eating away our club. How we're so dependent on this flop goes beyond all logic. I'm not saying this as a result of today's performance, it's what I've felt for a long, long time. Mainly, because we all know he CAN'T do what we expected him to do for the price that was paid. For whatever reason, his legs are shot. His style that made him so successful was centered around pace, movement and reactions; he no longer has any of these attributes. An injured Kompany out-paced him today for God's sake... When I see Torres, all I see is a flop that has cost(s) us: 1. £50 million - Enough said. 2. £150k a week - Anyone know how much we've given him in total? I'm actually terrified to find out. 3. 3 managers - 1 in Ancelotti who is world class. Including all of their compensation fees. 4. 2 Strikers - Anelka and Drogba. Not including the likes of Lukaku going on loan. 5. Super Frank - Let's face it, as much as I am a fan of Oscar and Hazard, they were brought in for Torres and now Lampy has been sacrificed with those acquisitions. Call me sentimental, but today's type of game needed Frank. (I know he's injured, but perhaps he wouldn't be with more playing time) And most importantly of all I feel: 6. Time - We have wasted an awful lot of time on such a magnificent flop. From time on styles of play and formations etc., all attempting to get the best out of HIM, instead of the TEAM, to time that could have been better spent by giving players like Studge, Lukaku or youngsters a chance. Now we are about to waste more by adopting a style of play (Mikel doing very bad Alonso impersonations etc. etc.) that just won't work because it is to suit the Torres we paid for, not the one received; not fast, indecisive and timid. I know that, the way things worked out, we won the CL, which I wouldn't change for the world. However, if this guy is still here at the start of next season, Roman is either the most stubborn bastard in the world or he needs to be checked into some sort of institution, because the whole world can see we don't have a forward. The sooner he's gone and replaced, the better for the club. I'm not sure about Falcao, because people are saying he needs a certain style of play, one we might not be able to supply. But what I do know is that we need someone the opposite of Torres at the current moment; someone who is adaptable, plays to the TEAM's strength, young and hungry to succeed; be it Falcao, Lukaku, Cavani, Lewandowski etc.
