The problem is not all attackers have goal scoring instincts which i think you are severely underestimating. Out of our midfielders, only mata and lampard have this goal scoring instinct like schurrle to get into the box and tap in goals.

He was fantastic in the first half, he was in the thick of the action. The yellow card made him more cautious and reserved in the second half thats really what happened.

Lampard is one of the most fit players ever to play football. He rarely gets injured, thats another attribute he has that is underestimated.

I thought he was excellent in the first half. He never shy away from tackles and was aggressive as i want my CM to be. (that's one of the reasons yaya was shut out) But he had a yellow card, so in the second half he couldnt risk tackling when we were getting dominated for a while so he was sacrificed.

Your wrong with your first sentence. You can check goetze's tackles per match last season to see how many tackles he had even though he had long term injuries. Everybody in dortmund tackles, that high pressure is the most important part of klopps tactics. If someone leaves space for people to run through, then that wont go down well with klopp. I read somewhere before that reus and goetze had a combined 91 tackles last season. Mata wont work with his tactics unless he puts in some hard work.
