Leicester look in trouble if they don't pick up from soon Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk

MOTM yesterday. Aston villa did not get a single meaningful counter attack because of him. He snuffed out every of their attack and turned it into possession for us. And he was spraying passes effortlessly
-
Almost like he was on a mission to cost us the game. Lost the ball 4 times leading to dangerous counterattacks. Doesn't look fit at all Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk

We didn't create anything. Why Lampard refused to start Gilmour whose presence presented a resurgence for Chelsea in our last two matches, I don't know Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk

We're dominating possession but haven't created much chances. The experiment hasn't worked well. Bring on Gilmour and pulisic immediately Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk

One good thing about him is that he creates many goals by himself not just scoring tap ins or giving easy assists

Exactly, we need him starting to continue his strong form which seems to influence the team as a whole against Everton and Liverpool. I would also want RLC to start but I dont know how fit he is since his injury so Mount should probable take the third midfield spot.

By far in my opinion. I thought I saw a great regista in Jorginho till I saw Gilmour Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk

Billy with 2 goals today against QPR. Who pulled out these stats

Gilmour has a lot of xavi traits in him. The way he dribbles out of pressure is sublime, elegant and fantastic to watch. Defenders and footballers in general love to play beside people like this

"It's also a bit of a paradox when you always talk about new signings and at the same time reduce salaries" - said Thomas Mรผller on a possible Havertz signing [bild]

He is going to be a great footballer in the future. In England deep playmakers like him are not appreciated much but I see a bit of Verrati/Scholes in him. He can tackle, run, dribble, pass and most importantly he has total awareness of everything on the pitch. He knows if someone is trying to close him down from the side because he takes a little look before the ball gets to him and gives the ball to the free man or dribbles out of the press. He is a managers dream, a captain on the pitch the way he controls the match. I would give my left nut to make him a starter right away from now. Even next season with all the new signings, if we can get super intelligent players like Gilmour and Havertz on the pitch at the same time, it would be on par with Mancity's KDB and Silva level intelligence on the pitch. We would be able to control matches where the team is better than us and totally dominate matches where we are better than the opposition (we saw this against Liverpool and Everton when Gilmour starts) Chelsea have a rare gem here. He's my favorite player at the club actually.

If we get him, then we are replacing Willian and Pedro with Ziyech and Kai. And Michy with Werner. Thatโs a freakinโ scary upgrade.
-
That sounds quite promising. I went back to look for some video's of him to understand what this hype is all about. He's a great passer with KDB type vision for runners and players in free space. How this has not translated into more assists is a mystery. He also has fantastic shooting technique (volleys, first time shots, Headers, shot power, chips, placement) Because of our previous failures in signings (cuadrado, Bakayoko, Barkley etc) I made up my mind not to be hyped about any players without a good goals or assist record. But with Havertz talent, he should have had far more assists.
-
Thats definitely a good point. We'll see how good he is in the coming games
-
Maybe I've underestimated him immensely. I have a phobia for very tall creative midfelders. I always want creative midfielders around kdb or david silva height I can tell he moves the ball with confidence and class, but you really hold him in high regard to be mentioning those greats. My only problem is how come his name was not widely known till after this pandemic.
-
Honestly I will only be satisfied with his signing if he is playing beside Werner in attack. Havertz is tall, and scores goals but his assists is not good enough to become the fulcrum of our creativity in attack, we have Ziyech for that. If we get him for 45mil, I would be elated with the signing, but if I see 75mil used on him, it would feel like we wasted so much money.
-
I must be the only chelsea fan not convinced by Havertz. He has some skills and is a good passer obviously but I've watched a lot of his matches and highlights now and I'm yet to see anything SIGNIFICANT he has over Loftus Cheek imo. He has 11 goals and 5 assists in 26 or so matches in the league, and people are saying he's a great passer? That assist record is too small to convince me, given how high up the pitch he plays. I generally am never convinced by very big creative midfielders (where is all the hype about savic now). He is worth 45mil but not this 75mil I've been seeing flying around. I hope we don't buy him honestly, if we have to get an attacking mid, Aouar from Lyon would be better.

Your missing one huge strength of his, which is his ability to play multiple roles. Lampard changed formations all season to cope with opposition tactics and Werner immediately provides so many different solutions including a two striker system which lampard tried in preseason but Batsuayi couldn't mend with Abraham, hence Lamps didn't use it much again. We could now play 4-2-3-1 very attacking against small teams with all three players behind Abraham interchanging Abraham Pulisic/CHO - Werner - Ziyech Kovacic - Kante OR 4-3-3 with Werner up top against big teams with space in behind Pulisic/CHO - Werner - Ziyech RLC/mount - Kante Kovacic OR 4-3-3 with Abraham up top and Werner playing the CRonaldo role while Ziyech finds him all day with exquisite long range passes onto his runs Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Rlc/Mount - Kante Kovacic/Gilmour OR 3-4-3 with Ziyech in a free role behind two strikers (This can only work if we have super attacking wingbacks on both wings) Werner - Abraham Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi OR 3-4-3 Conte style with Azpi back in his strongest position Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi

Strange video I found

Werner's best performance of the season. He practically has a free role, interchanging with players. Like I said, Abraham will play alongside him unless against big teams where there will be enough space to play the striker position alone.
