No. You would get torn apart out wide in the PL, have a look at what happened to MUFC. This is a fast league, the wide players (both full backs and attacking wingers) will punish you if you only have 1 player out wide. Moreover, we need to add more width to our game. We need to get our full backs involved in the attacking half of the pitch too like Man City which is why we don't need to change formations, just replace the parts currently in it.

I'm not really angry at Ivanovic, angry at Mourinho. He's just not fit to play in the RB position yet Mourinho sold a proper LB (Filipe Luis) bought another (Baba Rahman) and still seems to think playing an RB out of positon and a CB at RB is the sensible thing to do. I don't think it is fair to criticse a player for performing poorly when he's playing out of position. What's incredible is we've paid big money for these LBs so they can warm our bench while we play a CB at RB..... That is like purchasing a giant LED TV only to keep it in its box while you continue to use your old tiny CRT TV set. Meanwhile you complain that your current TV's display sharpness is poor.

I agree with the last paragraph. It baffles me why Jose thought Willian would do a better job as a no.10 on Saturday than Hazard. On the odd occasions he has played as a no.10 for us, he's done incredibly well. We are wasting him by playing him out wide. We keep talking about that 'big tough' CM we need to partner Matic in big games, why do we overlook Ruben in that conversation?

One of the most important aspects of football is the full back bombing forward on the overlap and there is no way that can happen with this formation. We need to add more width to our game and going with 3 centre backs would be a disaster!
