  1. Eto'o not scoring on his debut makes it feel like Chelsea is cursed with our strikers. He scored in every other debut in the pass couple years (Inter, Barcelona and Anzhi) and supporters probably thought he would do the same here (not taking into consideration adaptation to the English League). He put in a good shift (positioning, passes etc) and I definitely expect to see goals from him soon
  2. Yes he said it.I'm taking it to mean that he fielded several players that are 22 and under rather than selecting a more "mature" team. I doubt Kalas will start as Mourinho will be gunning for a win here off Everton's defeat and may be less likely to sacrifice defense. Definitely hopeful for Van Ginkel. His four players might be Oscar (21), KDB (22), Schurrle(22) and Eden(22)
  3. Reminds me of Hazard's goal at West Ham last season
  4. Since most of these squabbles started there is one thing I can't fathom and that is members bring the general chat forum into the discussion. Yes this site is a football site first and foremost. People come here to talk about football but people also connect on different levels hence the reason for the general chat forum. It helps prevents the football threads from being derailed unnecessarily by banter. It seems that some people are unable to understand this concept. It's not the general chat threads that are causing a problem. It is posters who think that they are above others, that their football opinion is gospel. So football gospel triumphs general chat in some posters mind. If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Each poster on this forum needs to take responsibility for him/her self. None of us are children, we have the sense to know the consequences of our actions. Being a bystander is also part of the problem. Being an instigator is definitely the problem. Being self-righteous and opinionated. Some of these issues are trait related so its not something you can get away from. Some of these problems are based on inclusion versus exclusion again something you can't completely stop in group dynamics. Some members need to grow up, others need to suck it up. Put on those big boy/girl underwear and keep it moving. It's a forum the administration is trying to run not a small country. Making most things less democratic isn't the way to go neither is making it more. Transparency begets problems. Same goes for the opposite. I would say scrap the MOTM awards since its promoting the creation of so much discontent. Enforce rules strictly until people realize that they can't get away with breaking the rules. I think it's because some members have realized that bending and sometimes breaking the rules result in no consequences that the current atmosphere is how it is. That might mean losing some posters and giving off an authoritative aura but its necessary to rid the forum of its current cancerous nature. No one should be above the rules. That means mods and administrators need to also watch their interactions with other members. A holier than thou attitude is not what we're trying to achieve. This isn't leveled at any mod or admin by the way but just warning as a discourse. The long term goals need to need to override the short term gains. Advance warning of a new system so members understand that they need to ship up or ship out. That there would be no mercy for the blatant disregard of the rules. As always this is my opinion and everyone has the right to agree or disagree with me respectedly.
  5. Ozil was promising for Arsenal. They're probably bubbling over with hope right now
  6. It will just make our victories sweeter. That's football for you. We definitely need to work on our finishing for sure. It's kind of depressing to think that Eto'o scored on his debut for Barca, Inter and Anzhi but couldn't for us. Makes it feel like we're cursed.
  7. We have the same amount of points as the typical contenders. There's no uphill struggle as yet as there isn't a big gap between the clubs. It's early in the season we have a lot of opportunities to pick up points and the other clubs have a lot of time to drop points. This season looks to be a great transition period for a lot of teams and looks to be a great fight for everyone. A bit too early to be so down
  8. Poor finishing all around. We allowed too much chances to go unpunished. It's early in the season so no worries. Mourinho better start whipping the boys into shape though!
  9. I say Eden the same. I heard Courtois as Cur-toy. It was far different (and made more sense) than my Cour-toise
  10. @Barbara I find it more hilarious that he actually likes it!!! @Belgiannutt seriously!! How hard is it to pronounce Eden!!! (Unless I'm pronouncing it wrong I only just realized I was pronouncing Courtois name wrong) screw you Belgians and your ridiculously hard to pronounce names
  11. Faroe island was pretty ok against Germany (despite losing 3 nil that is).
  12. Pretty horrible situation for Klaus. It was mighty sweet of the players to escort him off the pitch. Ozil even posted get well wishes on his facebook
  13. Hmmm, that would be unreasonably harsh seeing that Mourinho approved him taking the penalty. I sincerely doubt it's any part of the reason for his move though. I believe the Ba story and getting more play time story more. Truth is we may never really know all the factors though.
  14. **Off-topic: I didn't know he had a child. Cute kid!!
  15. That was when we lost the Club World Cup
  16. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Thank you very much for that laugh!!! Anyway I've had my say, enjoy your battle. Ciao
  17. This thread is an utter disgrace. Just reading this makes me feel to leave TC because it illustrates the general trend the forum has taken in the past couple months. A bunch of petty nonsensical arguments over opinion which is subjective!!! Everyone has a right to an opinion! It's human nature to have differing opinions. Opinions are not fact! Yet this seems to be the general trend of things. It seems that someone has declared Marshall law on the forum where some opinions need to be more valid that someone else. Every thread is a freaking argument and frankly I am personally getting irritated by it. Grow up! Accept that others are going to have a different opinion on things and that there is no need to act self righteous about your personal opinion. To make things clear I am not even discussing the MOTM issue, I'm not discussing Gif posting, I'm not subtlety directing this to any one member who have posted before me. I do rarely post in "football" related threads and that's frankly because I don't want to be assaulted by someone who disagrees with what I stated. I don't mind disagreements as I stated before that's human nature but what I do mind is being attacked for having a differing opinion. Also someone else would have already posted what I would say often times better that I would have. With that in mind, the like option should be kept. I "like" posts that follow the general trend of my own would be post. To me it doesn't make sense to rewrite something that someone else already outlined but that's just me. Yes I do post a lot in general chat and before anyone attempts to align me to that newly acquired tag of pubster and accuse me of voting for "pub friends" allow me to mention that I've never voted or nominated anyone for MOTM. It's not that I don't think anyone deserves it, a lot of people do but I knew from that start (of joining here) that it would lead to controversy. This is probably not the place to voice my dissatisfaction over the current trend of the forum but frankly I'm tired of all the shit. Inflated egos and general rude behavior. This is not the reason why I joined TC. I joined to commiserate with like persons of Chelsea's joys and heartbreaks. This atmosphere is so toxic.
  18. Awwwwwwww!!!!!! We want you too David!!!
  19. I wouldn't have fussed if we got Ozil over Willan or Schurrle even Van Ginkel but as a fan I'm not throwing Mata off the team like that especially since he basically carried the team most of last season and even the season before that. Mata deserves a little bit more respect than that. It's yet to be proven how effective Mourinho came assist Mata in becoming. Now if Mata wanted to leave that's another story.
  20. Of all the English teams in the league why did he have to chose Arsenal though :eeww:
  21. Nothing is a guarantee in football imo
