I dont think well add any more strikers to the squad. Drogba being named by Scolari himself as a man he wants to keep at the club and Sheva not being allowed to leave. Defence wise were sorted, so I cant really see anything other than a bit of width being brought into the team Dunno where Robinho would fit into the current squad if we're to go with his favoured 4-2-3-1?

The club website probably just posted up the important stuff, this remark he made was more off the cuff. He was talking about his first day at the training ground, getting to know the players, JT came to introduce himself. I havent seen the website content yet, but Scolari also said that a few years back he voted for JT as his player of the year, and a also Drogba 2 seasons ago and he is happy that he has both of them now as his players.

I was very impressed by him. He also mentioned that he will wait for a few days yet to get to know the strength of the squad before he decides where he needs to add. I laughed when asked if he reguarded himself as a "special one" as Jose described himself when he first took charge. Scolari looked the guy straight in the eye and said......."YES"..There was a few laughs, but he continued he was special to his family and friends, nothing more. Also mentioned that JT came to his office and knocked on the door and said...."Hello I'm John Terry", Scolari I know who you are, come on in All in all, He put himself across very well and spoke quite clear considering he was thought not to be able to speak English.

Chelsea Reject Inter Approach For Frank
Aesthetic Relic replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
How long has this whole Lampard saga went on for now.....2 years ? Its dragged on too long now for my liking. I hope things are sorted out over the next week or so and we can have closure on this drama one way or another. -
Aint got Chelsea TV ,but I'm gonna watch it in a minute on SSN

As Esk says, it didnt work out for him due to family reasons. Great player or not he didnt do enough to be a legend.

Pracidelli tips Blues to shine
Aesthetic Relic replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'm actually very excited at whats in store for us this season. Scolari's known for his attacking flair, and we have plenty of players capable of playing that way. The last few seasons we were solely relying on Joe COle to unlock the defences, but now that we've added Deco and possibly Robinho to the mix we could well see some exquisite play going forward. We know we have a pretty good defence, its the lack of goals that hindered us last season. If Drogba is to go, I wouldnt rely on anyone else we've got to be the main striker. We still have to get that goal poacher to get the scrappy goals imo. -
Hall of fame ? I wouldnt offer him a seat on the bus. In all honesty, he didnt do anything worthy enough to be reguarded as a Chelsea legend.
-
Should have sold him instead of paying half his wage or whatever deal was going on with Inter. We get nothing now.........right?
-
Edited..... Is it just me or is anyone else worried that were taking other players cast offs and not trying to get players who'll benefit the club in the long run?

I sense some sour grapes from Wrighty..... If a certain young lad called Shaun was a regular I'm sure he wouldnt be making the same comments.

Pizarro ready for Scolari chance

He's as reliable as his next interview -
Someone made a valid point on another forum about Arshavin. He had a fantastic few games against Sweden and the Dutch who both came out and played football. That allowed him to make hs runs and take control of the game. When he came up against the Spanish who were more organised defensively he went missing. He's 27 and only really hitting the headlines now. Where has he been for the past decade ? If he were to come for us I fear he would go missing as he did against Spain. Very few, if any teams come out at us and have a go, giving us the opportunity to play the game the way we want. He would be playing against well drilled defences week in week out. Is he a player worth taking a risk on after a few good games in a tournament? Baros and Poborsky are two examples of players who have a good tournament, get the big move and flop big time.

Chelsea TV Stupidly Reveal Deco Signing
Aesthetic Relic replied to DavidEU's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Its a step sideways imo. Not overly impressed. He can do a job for us I suppose but it remains to be seen wether he can be the player we've been lacking in midfield. Someone who can unlock defences. If Lamps goes....so be it. Chelsea moves on. Obviously I'd love to see him stay, but we'll just have to wait and see. Doesnt look likely now though. -

Mikel not scared of competition
Aesthetic Relic replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
He'll have to work on his shooting cause its horrendous His presence I'm sure is frightening to opponents, knowing he's thundering into a 50/50 with you would make the hairs on your back stand up. -
Mikel not scared of competition

He's certainly had his ups and down Mikel, but most of the time I do feel he's been harshly treated by referees due to the fact of his sheer size. He's more than shown he can become a top player in the future and I'm sure he'll be around for a good while yet. With Maka due to end his career sooner or later he should have no problem slotting into that holding role. I'd rather have him there than Essien as I feel Essien offers a whole lot more going forward and when he's restricted to a defensive position we lose some of our options going forward and dont look as effective. -
Scolari calls Chelsea stars back from holidays early
Aesthetic Relic replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well he's due to officially start work on the 1st July anyway, so its hardly shocking news, he'll want to grips with the squad asap to see what he needs to do to rebuild/reshape or whatever he has in mind. Also it'll give the press an opportunity to create all sorts of rumors that he's axing this player or that player -
