I dont think he's an out and out striker, but he would certainly add something more creative up front. He has been a bit hot and cold this season, but he's getting into a bit of form now and could throw a strop to get a move if we make our intentions known. Being proven in the Premiership isnt gonna guarentee that he could be a hit here too. Its getting the right sort of player to fit into the team shape, I suppose we could sign anyone and they'd fit in atm, cause we dont really have a shape

Grant: We Are Still In The Title Hunt
Aesthetic Relic replied to Steve's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Difference being last season when Terry was out we hadnt any defensive cover so we had to use Essien at CB and a;so we had Bridge AND Cole out too for some time and used Ferreira at LB for a time too. WE've been fortunate this year to have either Bridge or Cole fit to play, Have Belletti to play at right back and also Ben Haim and Alex to cover at CB. We didnt have that last season, plus, with losing Essien from midfield took a massive chunk out of our midfield and not having him there was a major reason why our performances weren't up to scratch. Of course we're going to compare between Jose and Grant, especially when he continues his back handed comments about "HIS" style of football is more attractive and effective than his Joses. He brings most of it on himself, so its there to be debated. What exactly are Grunts positives ??? As far as I can see he's been fortunate to get as far as he has due to the depth of the squad. He's been found wanting when its mattered against so called title "rivals". When the crunch comes to the crunch he hasnt got it. More and more fans are cottoning onto him after giving him a chance to prove himself. One day you too may see the light  -

The thing is.....everyone knows that the ACON is gonna happen in January. We knew we would lose these players once the tournament begun, so its a bit stupid to come out now and say its "crazy". Jose said he no longer wanted to sign African players. I doubt for one second he was being racist, but more thoughtful in his quest to have a balanced team all season. Scandanavian ( I think ) teams are well into their season by the time the C/L qualifiers kick off therefore giving them an advantage on fitness. Is there a call for this to be stopped....NO. The main reason for the ACON goes ahead in January is probably to do with the weather and time of the year. If they were to play in the summer in 40+ degrees then players would have a serious health issue on their hands. In January the temperature is not as warm and seems the right time to play. In turn it provides a stumbling block for teams who will lose players because of this mid season. So really....are we in a position to complain

Well, judging by Grants antics on the touchline during a game where he continuously stands there with his hand on his head looking bemused by it all. What sort of message is that to send out to the players looking over at him for inspiration. You need someone who will yell and scream at the players, telling them to move here, do this, do that, etc....I have yet to see Grunt do this. OK he may not be that sort of manager by going spastic on the touchline. He doesnt send out the right message. Full stop. Half time blows......the players walk into the changing rooms. Sit down and look at their manager to see what he has to say. He stands there with his hand still on his head. They look at each other, then back at the manager....still with his hand on his head looking into empty space. He walks out of the room and comes back in moments later with some cones for the players to run around and gives the odd numbered players a bib to wear.....blah blah blah... This is where I think Clarke and Ten Cate come into play. Yeah, I know....sounds stupid, but thats the impression I get. Now tell me you dont feel the same way

Must be a clash of personalities with Grunt.......oh wait...it cant be...Grunt doesnt have a personality -
Add to that..... Robben 24.0 Duff 5.0 Gallas 5.0 Diarra 5.0 Johnson 3.0 Huth 6.0 Gudjohnsen 8.0 Geremi (free) Del Horno 5.0 Jarosik 3.0 Carlton Cole (undisc) 64million + 23.5million = 88.5m Cant think of any more sales tbh....feel free to add on if I've missed any

Shevas 30million transfer would take it to over 300million up till the beginning of season 2006/2007 Players missing are.... Ashley Cole Mikel Malouda Belletti Boularhouz (sp?) Alex Ben Haim Kalou Pizarro Sidwell Hilario Suppose you could add another 50million on top of that on player signings.....the 140million on Cobham and then the recent Debt clear off of 60million or so and you'd probably get well over the 500million mark..... And I'm sure theres bound to be a few reserve players in the mix somewhere along the line

Now.....I'm no footballing expert, but I do know the basics Since when has a shot deflected off a players heel who is running away from the ball been called a pass This goes to show that even when someone tries to back up Grunts substitutions they cant even get their own come back in any sort of state to warrant it to be credible. -

It wouldnt make sense getting rid of him half way through next season, we'd be put even further back. Get shafted of him in the summer if you've any balls at all RA and give the fans someone we can appreciate instead of this binlid who is now being found out. I cant see him being sacked. moved upstairs or whatever before the end of the season. If that happens we would need someone in during the summer to try to get the team into some sort of shape and give us a manager worthy of the job. -

Makes you wonder if were attacking the wrong person though....maybe it should be RA who should get the brunt of it all, but he still has taken us to another level where most things are concerned, so really maybe Grunt is the easier target in it all Just a thought -

The big question is......Does RA really give a fuck what the fans chant ?????? My guess is no.....He'll continue to do what he wants. -
And no......that is not my arse

I see it as Grunt saying..... "Even when Jose had a full squad to pick from he couldnt beat VIlla and got stuffed 2-0. I have numerous injuries to cope with and basically half the squad he had and I done a lot better. Jose is a wanker and I am a god, you should all bow down and worship me." -

Are you sure it wasnt you with one of those megaphones like they do at the Italian games getting the crowd whipped up into a frenzied chorus of hatred for our loveable manager. TBH, when I heard that during the game I was pissing myself laughing, the commentators mentioned it and the camera panned to Joe Cole who had a face like a slapped arse after coming off. Was funny -
2 x 3 points = 6 points + 36 points = 42 points Yes.............. I am indeed being a smartarse

Shame. Wasnt a bad player either. RIP

Another underhanded swipe at Jose to add to the growing list of backhanders from Grunt -

Vital 3 points today......very very very lucky to come away with what we did. Kalou was miles offside and on another day that decision would have went against us. Performance was shite but with the injuries we have its expected, but the players out there should have what it takes to see off most teams in the EPL no problem. Grants substitutions were a bit bewildering, the fans let him know that. Mikel again had a poor game, and I thought SWP and Cole played well before he was subbed for Pizarro who looks to be our version of Kuyt....running about like a headless chicken with nothing to show at the end of it. The result is all that matters atm, although we seriously need some sort of striker in the transfer window.
