I think this would have been a great move if it was in the moods of our Willian deal, meaning that it will not compromise other potential deals for more important areas...However, I view this as a desperate reaction from Wenger to shut the critics by signing the first big name he saw available, no matter if Arsenal needs it or not. Thus, not having to spend in the other positions they so crucially need: GK, CB, DM and ST. If I was an Arsenal fan, I wouldnt be as happy with Ozil as I would haven been with Suarez or maybe Falcao. Or even if he used the 40mi to buy players like Julio Cesar, Sakho and De Rossi (for instance). Of course those are all assumptions and we dont know if he tried other transfers, but overall I dont think this is a transfer that will make them title contenders or anything...

I know, but one wrong doesnt make two right! Saying horrible things due to one single penalty isnt justifiable, but saying the penalty wasnt bad (and comparing it to Drogba's) isnt either... It is not like Lukaku must be benched, fined, loaned or whatever. But I cant believe people arent able to realise how horrible the shot was. I mean, I bet even your son could have saved it! A player with the future Romelu aspires to have just cant sucumble to pressure like that, it is all part of the onus their careers bring to those young stars and he will have to learn to cope with that. All in all, I believe all he needs to have is the support of everyone, but that he has to work on to be way more clynical than he is now, I have no doubt about it.

I dont like how people are overprotecting Lukaku. Not in the slightest. But I dont like the other end of the story either, in which people are overreacting and calling him names for absolutely no justifiable reason! Of course we shouldnt crucify him for one mistake, but we also shouldnt act like he didnt cost us a trophy and it is all super fine. He must learn from this! Telling Romelu to fuck off and saying he did nothing wrong and using his age as an excuse are just as stupid, IMO. It is definitely not the end of the world, but it was also a very bad attempt. A player that aspires to be what he wants to, cant have shut a shocker like he did yesterday. It is something he will have to work on.
