Did I understand the first phrase correctly? Having away fans screaming more than the entire SB makes us unique? I know a "better planed" stadium could make all the difference (I have shared my views on it with Liquidator already), but what I really think is missing, is a little group of 5-10 people who light up the whole stadium. Someone must start the fire and that we havent got in a while... I absolutely love English Football, but I would love to see better crowds. I dont think we must blindly defend what we like/love. I think it has become too much of a quiet crowd and that is not a positive thing. We must not throw away the UK culture and be like Turkish/Brazilian fans, but we dont need to have such a dull crowd (IMO). Germany and the Bundesliga might be where the answer stands, they were able to balance the business side of it with the atmosphere. I rarely complain about our stadium, but sometimes it gets on my nerves!

Only if you plan them the wrong way... There are two iconic new stadiums that translate in two different mentalities: Emirates and Gremio Arena. The Emirates was done with a business only mentality, it is super comfortable and high end, but it ruins the football essence and that translates to shit crowds. The Gremio Arena is a newly built (2012) 55k stadium, with a great internal division. There are two 8k standing areas behind the goal (usually go for 10-15 pounds), then there are familiy areas in the middle of the first level (like West Lower), 20k "VIP" seats in all second level (that goes for about 70-80 pouns and compensate the standing cheap tickets), the third level is for regular fans that still want to sit, have a good view of the pitch, but dont want to get in the middle of the crowd (goes for 20-30 pounds) and the rest of the third level is for away fans (5-10%) . It has become a modern stadium, with seats for every type of fan and an amazing crowd. I honestly think we can do something similar to improve the profit and atmosphere. I personally never complained about it, but this season is too much...

I know, but I have said in several games (like, regular ones) that the atmosphere was great. I never asked for Turkish or Brazilian fans, but I only want a cooler and louder stadium. That game (I believe it was West Brom) after Rafa's rant was pretty darn good, it is something achievable to have that kind of atmosphere in every game. I also get that is really dificult to be bumped up on a cold thursday night, but I never complained about it, did I? The atmosphere is England is pretty dull and people must stop creating excuses for it. It is not normal to have away fans (and that happens quite often) screaming more than 30k people! What I did was to reply to your post saying people cant complain or ask for something better if they dont go to games...

WHAT? Oh I remember, I was complaining about Rafa and how good his lineup was. Then you said to wait until the final whistle and that was what I did. I stuck around and watched the whole fucking game (posting more than anyone else, you can check), then I apologised to you (you can check that as well) for criticizing the dude before the 90min. To give up is to turn the TV off or something, not to moan about the manager after 30min. This was one of the most stupid lies someone has ever told me!

Sorry Jim, I disagree with it... Fans in Brazil are paying the price of economic growth and it hasnt stop the fans from screaming for 90 min. It is just the concept of fans that is all wrong in England and the fact you (not you specific) "accept" the away fans being louder shows how bad the situation is! The tourists, families, fan girls, etc; can be influenced by die hard fans. The problem with SB is that we have a really small space destinated for them, but even that is not excuse enough for the dull atmosphere we have. I dont see many poeple trying to fire each other up, it seems people have simply given up or accpeted the low atmosphere...

And do you think this is normal? The fans are a major reason why English Football is losing so many fans to Bundesliga...

Yes we can, Emenalo didnt do anything special or anything to stand out in the signing of Oscar. He just came with shit loads of money (most payed to someone playing in Brazil at the time) to lure him away from Inter. What is so special about it?
