  1. Heard of several people heading for the Shed Bar - but best to give the club a call. If they are, it'll be heaving.
  2. Too right Frank. That state of mind may well be in our favour
  3. Bloody cringed when I saw that. luckily he seems as if he will be OK. On the media coverage, you'd think there was only one team in it. Sky having a ManUtd love in, and seem to be showing only ManUtd fans in Moscow.
  4. Anything that starts ''According to reports..'' is usually imagination figments. Cant really see Real offloading him
  5. Fucking hell its getting close now. I'm nervous, excited and proud. Cautiously optimistic. I cant lose tbh. If Chelsea win - fanfuckingtastic. If we lose I've £20 on ManUtd =small consolation ...and it'll probably be Average Grunts last game. Wish I was in Moscpw, but will have to settle for Walkabouts with 2 Chelsea and 1 gooner. Where are other people watching it ???
  6. WITH rumours persisting that Avram Grant's days as Chelsea manager are numbered, William Hill make him 4/6 to be gone before the first day of next season, are offering him at 11/2 to quit before midnight (British time) on Champions League Final night - and have opened a book on who WILL be Chelsea boss on the first day of next season. Hills make Grant 11/10 favourite but also offer: ROBERTO MANCINI 11/4; MICHAELLAUDRUP 7/2; FRANK RIJKAARD 9/2; GUUS HIDDINK 11/2 ; DIDIER DESCHAMPS 10/1; SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON 12/1; HENK TEN CATE 12/1;LUIS SCOLARI 14/1; MARCELLO LIPPI 14/1; JUANDE RAMOS 20/1; MARK HUGHES 25/1; MARTIN O' NEILL 25/1; LOUIS VAN GAAL 25/1; JOSE MOURINHO 33/1.
  7. He doesnt have to spend £17 m on a picture of a fat Job Centre bird. If he wants 'jazz' pictures, someone should tell him theres better pics in Razzle for £1.50.
  8. .... fear of Motson ? Dont mind snakes -but panic about some big spiders
  9. So the moral would be every game is important There are definite key games though - that 2-1 over Liverpool -we were about £100 m in debt, again close to going under, and Gronkjaers beauty shaved £25 m off that at a stroke , and there would have been no Abramovich interest, allegedly.
  10. The club have rubbished this, along with his agent this morning, according to Radio 5 live. Also Reuters: “There is no truth in it at all. I don’t know why Inter Milan would think this. Nobody has talked to me and I am good friends with the owner, Massimo Moratti. I took Paul Ince there, I took Patrick Vieira there - if there was something on I am sure I would know. The situation is that Frank [Lampard] has got a massive match on Wednesday, after which he needs to spend time with his family, because he has not had a real opportunity to do that since his mother died. He needs to get away and sort out his personal life and when he has done that we will sit down and talk about his future in football.” - Lampard’s agent, Steve Kutner
  11. Agree - all the shit Ballack and Drogba got in their first season. keep the faith for another season.
  12. SWP probably has one of the most professional attitudes of any footballer. Never moans, genuine, humble, and does fucking loads for charity. He would have been told to accept bit parts, which is why he's said what he has. I would like to see him stay, and as a sub can change games - but can be fucking frustrating at times - which is why I'd have him as a 70th minute sub for a while.
  13. Again the title bares no correlation to what he's saying. Good old Sun, always shit stirring. Maloudas a good player just needs to speed up a bit, snort a bit of Mutu or something.
  14. Lol you edited your post You're allowed to get stuff wrong, I do. Agree about the Chelsea 2 v Liverpool 1 2003 -watershed game. I suppose the 1955 League win as well has to be up there.
  15. You're probably right, unless they had a dip in form, but whoever took it on would have to plug the £600 000 000 +interest hole left by the Glazers. Until that happened the club would be owned by creditors and banks, who wouldn't hang about before stripping the assets and selling them off. ie the name, players etc.
  16. Top chooon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeJ1c9YOzvM
  17. 'That goal' at Anfield. It was the linesman that gave it though
  18. £17m on naked 'Big Sue' paintingMay 19 2008 By Will Payne Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has been revealed as the man who spent £17million on a painting of a naked JobCentre worker known as Big Sue. The Russian billionaire paid £17.2million - the highest price for a work by a living artist - for Lucien Freud's Benefits Supervisor Sleeping. And the next day, he splashed out £44.1million on another painting, Tryptch by Francis Bacon. Both works were auctioned last week. Abramovich was named as the buyer of the paintings by The Art Newspaper in London. Editor Cristina Ruiz said: "I'm very impressed by his choices. He has gone in at the highest level but these are good purchases and I think they will hold their value." It's believed Abramovich got his new-found love of art from model girlfriend, Daria "Dasha" Zhukova, 25. Daria recently revealed that she is set to open a contemporary art gallery inMoscow. A spokesman for Abramovich refused to discuss his boss's purchases, saying: "We do not comment on personal matters." The model for Freud's painting, Sue Tilley, was paid just £25 a day for posing. She gave ITN presenter Katie Derham a telling-off last week for calling her "Fat Sue". That would have bought Messi and Ribery. Oh well.
  19. Would prefer 442 but it doubt it'll happen. ManUtd 6/4 favourites to win. Chelsea at 21/10. Ronaldo favourite as first goalscorer at 9/2. Drogs 13/2. Best bet is Ballack at 10/1 as first goalscorer -lump on
  20. Rooney saying Drogba loses it ? HA HA HA!! Who said irony is dead. Red Faced Pikey has a tantrum every game. Anyway I thought ManUtd 'only talk about ManUtd' ? Vidic, Drogba is going to make you look (more) foolish now.
  21. Even though we beat Bolton 4-3 , we still went down. All pretty important. Of course there was also the 1970 FA Cup replay. But for me the most important would be another Bolton game (they seem to figure in our important games). Not the League win, but the 1983 game. Clive Walkers late strike ensuring a 0-1 win that stopped the slide into Div 3, and staved off certain bankruptcy. This CL game is probably the clubs most prestidgious to date so far
  22. ..on Weds ? or have there been more important ones ????
