  1. He can do that every game as far as I am concerned!! Awesome game.
  2. A long term vision/manager, some time and a little fan-patience is all we need... Our current 'crop' is truly exceptional, I believe! Still, though I agree with The only place to be, I share Peace's opinion on having a target man option up front - especially if we make it to a CL spot (WICH WE WILL - DO YOU HEAR ME RAFA!!). MMmmm, Cavani :-)
  3. And happy Hadakamatsuri! Especially to my main man @rmpr :-)
  4. Lukaku himself said in that belgian interview that he is NOT a target man, and probably never will be. He prefers putting more depth in his game instead of footballing with his back to the goal. He simply has different qualities (strength, speed - the only one faster is Hazard in the NT, he said, and his nose for goals). As is Peace, I love Cavani. Not for the hype (eg Falcao) but for his player profile. I do see a match in playing our midfield + Cavani. Also, we would have options playing with two strikers (cavani/Lukaku or ba). Somehow it computes in my brain. So, do we put faith in youth? Yes! But we put some additional experience, quality and the position of target man in the blender. One does not rule out the other in this case. Ps: we will prolly still need to 'malouda' Torres though.
  5. I agree on this. It will be crucial. Lukaku seems to me quite the confidence player. Superb when it is up, irritated and technically under par when it is down. His interview in Humo, a respected belgian magazine, illustrated this. He himself admitted he had these issues in Chelsea AND in the belgian NT (apparently Kompany and Wilmots - accompagnied by the rest of the locker room - got on his case for sulking/venting when not playing. He admitted this in the article) That said, he is 19, impatient and bloody ambitious. So building his confidence and having him getting enough playtime might prove to be crucial .... If we do it right: bingo! If we do it the wrong way: ouch ;-)
  6. O Sleazy! thats an anagram of Zolayes :-)
  7. 1. I said SEE if he can make it to the bench. 2. You dont know that. Kevin HAS played as cm before and did really well. So that is conjecture. 3. Thats what I said. See my first sentence. 4. That is your opinion. They do make a lot of goals dont they. The taste of the pudding is in the eating. Still, as I said, Lukaku and Cavani is my dream combo. Plz read my posts better before going all 1,2,3,4 on me :-)
  8. I have the utmost respect for Oscar and do think he is a very very good, if not sublime talent. Sometimes , however, I feel that there is a bandwagon effect on Oscars performances at this moment imo. I found him excellent at times, but in 2013 also average against Arsenal, Reading, Sparta (return game), Man City and Steau. In 2012 he just wasn't there yet, mainly due to being played out of position a lot but not always! Eg on whoscored it is indicated he started 18 times in the AMC role versus 6 on the flanks. So I take the played out of position argument with a pinch of salt. What is fact, is that he really is unsuited whenever he WAS played on the flanks. Fair enough. He will be brilliant on the AMC, but it is too early I believe to be overly optimistic. May it is because he is a brazilian AMC and everyone loves those guys (including me). I prefer to be carefull and stick to facts. Again, he is one of my favorites on the team, but I still expect a LOT more of him (like I do of Hazard as well - I do not forget it is both their first year and they are both young, even though that argument appears to be unusable in the Hazard thread without gettng your ass kicked :-) He will rock next year, but he will have to adapt. Mata, Hazard and even KDB are here for a while too, so having all the space for himself in order to 'shine' might be an illusion. Ok. Now let's see how I get hammered on having an opinion :-)
  9. Also, this debate is based on the premise that Torres is goingto be gone. Is he? Do you know this? If we were to get Cavani, still have Torres, Ba and get Lukaku back .... Well, whats the point of having young players on board anyway. This policy would be aftually very detrimental to Chelsea in the long run - and keep us into short term politics like we are now. I do agree we need a good, no excellent striker to add depth to the team. Anything lower than Cavani quality is useless with our current team. So get Torres out, maybe even Ba, recall Lukaku and see if Feruz can make it to the bench. Same for the cm position. KDB is more than ready for the CM. All the other pricey alternatives sound good (if it costs a lot, it must be good!!) but are a fallacy performance wise. So, we HAVE amazing talent. Give it a chance, even though this year has made us so impatient, it is not worth sacrificing our future. My two cents anyway.
  10. So am I! I got up this morning feeling all optimistic after being gloomy bout this one. Sooooooo 2-4 victory!!!! Yeaaaaah
  11. Kdb is far beyond a loan. If you consider this, just ask Roman to buy more 28 year old 50 mil players .... and fail as a team. He needs to be here next year. Period. Byebye.
