  1. As long as RJ and Chilly stay fit and TT plays his 343 we can basically stick two training cones next to Thiago and still be defensively resilient. so I am not too bothered about how this saga ends. It is always frustrating when You lose out on your primary targets. Esp vs Brokealona. But there are still a few great cheap cb options out there.
  2. I think the reason we are in for him as opposed to a more conventional cb is that we rely on our cbs to bring the ball through midfield. Due to having only 3 actual attackers in our 343, Rüdigers deep runs with the ball were vital to even get the ball into the channels without our AMs or wingbacks having to drop back. that being said I still believe we need at least another ideally leftfooted/ambipedal AM who is fast and strong in 1 on 1 dribbles if we can not get a proper striker. Otherwise we will still be very predictable going forward
  3. Ppl are growing way too nervous over this Like I have been saying for days, the dwarf is in the bag. would have preferred to lose kounde to Barca and get raphinha instead tho
  4. Him or cornet would be interesting as budget options for backup But we usually don’t do these kind of deals looks like as long as we have so many left backs at the club we will not be buying another one
  5. Got a feeling kounde is in the bag, for better or for worse… About gvardiol if he really said that it is an odd one He has immense potential but on current ability he would not even start for us. Very error prone season behind him with multiple fk ups leading to goals.
  6. He better be right on both. 150m+ on 3 high risk cbs is crazy. Esp kounde and Kimpembe are absolute surprise bags
  7. I thought we are buying koubde for rcb koulibaly for lcb and eventually ccb after Thiago iirc Otherwise l would strongly advise to sign ndicka for lcb im case we really lose colwill. Cheap as well cos he is running his contract down For the NT he has been very solid and Flick trusts him with his life. He did not get along welll with leonardo so psg want to get rid I think he is overhyped. He is flashy for a cb with his dribbling and skills but as a pure defender he is error prone, rash, immature and has attention deficits. He will probably provide great attacking impetus and will look spectacular at times but we will have many near heart attacks with his David luiz style moments of madness.
  8. We have to draw the line somewhere like we have rightly did with Ake kounde is never worth 60m € not even close For a right sided CB a great low budget option would be Thilo kehrer we could get him almost for free and on reasonable wages
  9. If the classic no 9 is fast, makes clever off the ball runs and presses like mad I think we can well play with such broja does all this. However, He does not offer more than Kai in any form tho except for a little bit more power while being not as gifted on the ball. We woudl do well to keep him but I can see why he wants the easy route we would need to buy a suitable striker alternative tho which we are terrible at even in a good market environment
  10. It seems the new administration has learned little from the failures of the old in this regard. It would be madness to sell Broja and Colwill. Esp with how thin we are in their respective positions they would get plenty of minutes here
  11. Tbf we tried to sign him really hard but the poison dwarf was reluctant so we unearthed his Senegal teammate djilobodji. We even made a profit on him
  12. It amazes me how a club who still owes its players millions and now wants to force someone who is happy to stay nonetheless out of the door can still attract elite players. Treat them like meat, don't pay them, then try to offlad . This is a disgrace, even in modern football. On a side note, how ManUre are about to pay 150m for a 5'9 cb and a player who does not even want to be there is just classic. Long live the glazers.
  13. KKK is taken already, and quite negatively connoted at that ^^
  14. In the end reason prevails. Obvously over the moon following the collapse of the Ake transfer. Also it is unlikely we will ever go for him again as we are gonna sign another CB this window. Not loving the Kounde stories but those might just be a reflex by the medie to unearth that topic again. Not that I think signing Kounde is completely out of the window. Obviously, I do not like him one bit either not only becasue he is even shorter than Ake but because he is rash, gung-ho and immature. But I have to admit that Kounde has rare technical skills and supreme ability on the ball for a defender. However, I do not think it is on. With Ake we were clearly searching for a left sided defender. Kounde is as right-sided as it gets. Following his exploits last season I could imagine Trevoh being given a run at RCB.
  15. This. Dijon is decent enough defensively but a look at the stats shows 1 assist in the championship last season from rb is just not enough attacking contribution for our system that relies heavily on both fullbacks/wingbacks in offense.
  16. Preseason seems to be going well. Sure the club TV only shows the good pieces but the players are not actors. Morale seems high, team spirit intact. Weather is great, training area everything in mint conidition. Public training looked fun yet focused. Got a feeling this will be a good season. Club America just started their season so way ahead of us preparation wise, it will probably be a close match not that it matters much. Just no injuries pls^^
  17. the club is milking this signing more than they usually would. Sterling does not seem to mind tho and is playing along with the PR game. Todd also seems to be going to play a more public role than Roman did. Anyway, i first though sterling would look completely out of place here but it looks like he fits well into the group. Let's hope he also does on the pitch. Lots of pressure on him. Other than at City he will pretty much be the star man in our attack. My favourite part is when he asks Sarr which position he plays tho^^
  18. It’s obviously BS to follow stubborn policies like ‘no signings over 30 yo’ or no multi year contract extensions for 30yo . But I really hope the ppl in charge did the due diligence on this one. Imagine buying Thiago silva at 31 yo. We would have been set for ages. Pray that k2 ages just as gently
  19. I think they are talking about the central striker position
  20. oh well. Not that it is a big loss but we surely should be looking at an alternative then. that must be the reason we have not sold azpi yet
  21. yeah. we will pull the trigger once the Clauss dude is signed I guess. Don't think there will be a future here for Dujon Sterling.
  22. That's never gonna happen. gallaghers strengths lie in the middle of the pitch. TT is gonna trust emerson and Ake to be backups for Chilly apparently. Who i would be looking at as lwb backup would be kostic. he is probably one of the best lwb specialists out there
  23. not sure. we have seen plenty of this dp and it has worked fine IMO. League cup final vs liverpool where we were totally dominant springs to mind. Can see Gallagher working with either kovacic or jorginho tho
  24. Yes. Extension was always the most likely. All his best mates are at bayern and they have great interest in keeping him. if we really buy those 3 defenders and keep playing back 5, we will not even be needing extra wingers. given we will probably only sell ziyech, we still have timo, mase, puli, cho and now sterling for 2 positions. -----------K2----Thiago----Kimpembe--- Reece-------Kova-----Kante---------Chilly-- --------Mase------------------Sterling----- -------------------Kai---------------------
  25. It is amazing how we always have the worst windows after our greatest successes. 2015 after the title was terrible when we singed almost no one and got Pedro in last minute but passed up on Mane. 2017 after our last title was one of the worst windows in history with Drinkwodka, Donkeyoko and crybaby. this still haunts us. Then last summer, we only made one huge mistake but that one will cost us for ages as well.
