hahahahah! i'd love to see this on English TV. unrelated, but that video reminded me of this: OOOWWWAAAAARRRR NAAAAAWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

fair point. but then again, when he is in DM, when he gets the ball deep, he does have that oppurtunity. either way, at DM he's impressed. he does try risky passes, he does add to the attack and he does add to the defense. you look at lampard, he doesnt really add to the defensive part of the game, hes not bad at it, but hes obviously better at attacking compared to defending. similar story with ramires and the opposite story with Mikel. i think DM is the perfect position for Luiz. he can also hit a shot from range as we've seen!

Im glad we won. and i love Luiz mugging United right off. but i dont understand why Luiz is still considered a CB. he's obviously a midfielder. on Match of the Day they did a little analysis which i thought was quite good picking out his attributes for today clearly showing him as not as a CB, we all see it and we all say it, but i thought it was a good little segment they did. Luiz has had some great games a DM, he's not had one bad game there, hes had some incredible games there and the odd average one, but no bad ones. in my eyes Luiz is now a DM who can also play CB if we need him.

With RA rules on 30+ year olds it would be a kick in the nuts to our older palyers, specifically Frank. "i want a new contract" "you're over 30 , Frank" "...I scored a few" "I scored a shit load of russian standard last night and you dont hear me asking for a new contract. you're too old. bye" *signs 32 year old*

The spirit of Drogba's embrace was with David for that freekick...

...imagine if we don't get champions league football next season and it costs us this package. imagine.

BEST. USER. EVER. I look forward to EVERY post you make. EDIT: this has really made me want to create a David Brent account and just stroll around these forums responding as he would if he were a CFC fan.

I can relate to this topic as i was randomly bit. but i wont bore you with the story. OK OK i will tell you the story. I worked in a supermarket, putting shit on shelves so you guys can buy it. and this man walked in who was in his 40's with a girl of about 9 years old. I didntk now for sure, but i was pretty sure they were gypsies. The man could not read and was interested in purchasing a CD and asked for my help to read out the titles of the CD's. well, he didnt ask he just said "whats this" with a CD in his hand without even asking for my attention. he then went on to ask me to read some tracks, and to hum or sing some tracks. i laughed at that request, he did not... i hummed a few of the popular ones. during this conversation, at about the 3rd CD, the 9 year old girl, who had just been stood there patiently doing nothing, bit my arm. not just a nibble, but bit my lower arm, clamped on and bit as hard as she could. I made a slight noise 'ARGH!' and looked down, as did the man. as i was working i obviously was unable to do anything so looked to the man as i assumed who would do somep arenting and take care of his child, to which he looked back at me and asked me to read another CD. she had a grip on me close to 10 seconds which is a really long period of time. when she let go she had drawn blood, not a lot, but she had broken the skin. she didnt get any kind of punishment, not even a 3 match ban.

I knew Suarez would get a goal after trying to consume some arm. Terry should have started, he'd hace kept Luiz in line. Hazard off for Yossi was insane. never try and defend a 1 goal lead, we know it doesnt work. I can understand why youd want to attakc cautiously, but do not take a player off who was playing so great. Hazard was great after he scored that pen, was making some crazy good runs on and off the ball, and at his peak he is taken off for Yossi, who i didnt see do anything defensively or attacking in the whole game. If he HAD to make that sub, at least take Oscar off who wasnt having the best of games, not our best attacking player. unbelievable. was suprised not to see Ba, Torres has been great recently, but this game was a stereotypical chelsea game for him. Suarez obviously shouldnt have been on the field, Liverpool looked good with sturridge on (dont know why we sold him, knew he'd score against us etc etc), but if they were down to 10 men, it would have bee a totally different game. there were numerous other fouls that could have seen liverpool players getting a red card, it was a really poor performance from the ref. we didnt play all that well, and the penalty that we got was just what we needed, and with suarex being sent off we'd have secured that. if it was for such poor reffing then it may have been fair to say it was a fair result, but the ref had an awful game. Suarez better get a massive ban. it annoys me that liverpool arent really fighting for anythign because id love to see them suffer properly.

we'd all love to see him banned for life. i think if this kind of behaviour was seen in a sunday league, a player would recieve and extremely lengthy ban. but because its suarez, a top class player whos not only representing football in the premier league, but has a global face, they wont take him out the game for too long even though they should. has to beat least a 7+ match ban. it was unprovoked. In most attacks, like defoe Vs mascherano, Suarez biting that bloke on the neck, aguero studding luiz, hazard kicking a ball boy, there is a stimulus, a reason behind it. in this there was nothing, unless Ivanovic said something, he did nothing wrong so its just out of frustration and anger from suarez so the ban should be more and the rumoured anger management should be compulsary.

Im abit nervous to this. I think he would be a good player to add depth to the squad, but 22m for someone who is adding depth is a bit too much. Its hard for me to comment too much as i dont know that much about him. Do people see us using him more as winger than a striker? for 22m you'd expect him to start 75% of games and im not entirely sure wether he would start that many games... the comments ive read in here suggest that he may not be the kind of player who looks to be starting every game. 22m and KDB on loan is quite a lot. if they are getting KDB on loan, surely we shouldnt have to pay 22m. I'd rather just bring KDB back...

Silly Drogba, thats not a car. Its the UEFA Champions League trophy he won whilst playing at Chelsea. Silly Drogba. -
Makes me wonder what would have happened if Torres went down. Its like, they dont want us to dive, yet it was a clear penalty and he didnt get the call because he didnt dive... It was an exciting game, i think Torres should have come on a lot sooner, maybe even at half time. I think Oscar should have come off as well, for Lampard. Its a real shame was so annoying that we didnt beat them! we were hard done by the ref as well. i really hope aguero gets a ban. and i really dont know how torres didnt get a penalty.
-
Torres should have started. he's way more suited to how we are playing at the moment and would be able to offer a lot more than Ba. cracking game, good to see Ramires really fired up and puttign in a good performance. Man City looking more likely to score at the moment, but its a great game!

I was more after a video of it or confirmation of it happening because I didn't see it. not that i was concerned that our team had fallen apart as the media wishes, like i said, i know this kind of things happen all the time, i just wanted to see it As much as i love Mata (and i think we all do) i dont think hes sutied to be a captain. he would need a lot of work on his authority and vocal point, he just doesnt seem like the kind of player to be happy to order people around and have that vocal confidence. Terry, Lamps, Cech are all capable of being vocal. Luiz would be there as well and i do think after hes matrued a bit further he would make a great captain.

read this on a gossip column this morning: Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has shrugged off an argument between Frank Lampard and David Luiz. The pair clashed as they left the pitch at the end of the first half of Chelsea's Europa League tie against Rubin Kazan. full report: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/11/frank-lampard-david-luiz-chelsea anybody see this/have a video of it? i didn't see this at all. I know it happens a lot and it means nothing, just suprising for those two.

The penalty was harsh, but hte yellow card was entirely wrong as it suggests intent. fucking bullshit. hopefully we dont let them attack and we apply some pressure and get another goal to shut them up.
-
Voted for Leif. i get plenty of giggles out of a lot of his posts. and i love a giggle me. love a giggle.

its just a money making friendly. i dont think theres any harm in this. and hopefully it will just be a fun game, unless we come 5th and its a really depressing game. i dont see any problem with this. Lukaku will smash it.

Frank Arnesen's interview for London Evening Standard

just a thought on integrating youth players to the first team: it is hard at a club like ours, especially at this time. for teams comfortable in mid table, they have nothign to really risk by playing some youth. in the position we are where we are fighting for a champions league spot, its not really suitable for us to be taking a gamble. thats why i personally think loaning players out is improtant for clubs at our level. Lukaku an example. last season with us, we all knew he was frustrated, send him out on loan, he is loving it, and we as fans of chelsea are loving seeing the potential he has. Unless a player gets a chance, and manages to put in a really good performance, like Bertrand did, who to be fair amy have only got the chance due to the lack of players in that position, then players arent going to get much game time with the first teamm Piazon got some time in the capital one cup before he was sent out on loan and thats about it. we see Ake appear on the bench and making an appearance in the europa league, but their time is limited. thats why loands are important for these players, its not ideal, but its the best we can do until we dont have anything to fight for. so i dont really think its fair to say that our academy players dont get a chance, its just not worth the gamble. -
Unlike United, we need to win this game. Man U will put out a weak team Vs Sunderland, hell, they'll even take a draw from that game, they've already won the league. so we are going to have to paly some key players here. Mata has had a big enough rest, so seeing him play 60 minutes is fine. Stick Bertrand at LB. Moses on for Hazard. and i dont care which striekr we start. In my eyes Torres is the one in form at the moment. He's looking a lot better in his last couple of games and is contributing more than Ba. having said that, they are both pretty bad, so i dont care which striker plays on which days, but id be picking Torres as the better of the two at the moment. this is a must win. The game Vs United is a game we'd like to win, but not a must win. we need champions league football next season to keep Jose happy, and i think Man city are going to take the FA cup this season so we need that top 4 finish in the league.

Same story here! Im 22 now and i went through my teens loving football but never really getting to play and im so average! but i love playing. I used to be a goal keeper, but i stopped growing when i reached 5ft 8... so had to adapt to going outfield when i was around 12 years old. and because i wasnt as good as the other kids i never got the encouragement and i quickly stopped palying for local clubs because i was exlcuded. I think some guidelines and training to get younger kids in to football need to be arranged. itll help increase the odds of us finding good footballers in the future. loads of people who are good at certain sports end up doing other sports due to exclusion and what not.
