12 assists is still 12 goals, what good are only scoring goals if you do nothing eles to help the team. Also as This would be One of my main concerns also.
-
Could of used him for this year tho.... This could be a good thing tho, if it forces are wingers wide, i still think if they did that now tho torres would score more or at least get more chances
-
No it dosent, thats just one factor you've seemed to pick on. Also i know ive read what you've had to say too many times now and it still dosent make any sense, can we not just leave it now. You have nothing new to say and neither do i.
-
Think its the only time im ever gunna be shouting for QPR lol
-
Alright, no ones saying Falcao is a one trick pony, But we cant just assume he'll play well with a different system, something that happened to Torres here at chelsea aswell... If the stats say crosses/headers or whatever then thats all we got to go on and since thats all we got to go on ATM with our playing style he's not the right man for the job! If he can adapt then thats great. If he's not were left being laughed at again for a big signing flopping. No one here is trying to right him off just that and dont take this the wrong way if Roman wants to splash the cash, if he's happy, im happy, but no one wants for Chelsea to spend another 40odd million on the wrong man, and it dosent matter who you support. I personaly think Cavani anyway but i'd far prefer if we just adapted to playing more crosses and width.

Do you really want me to go through everything again? for the 6th time? If we cant assume about RDM then you cant assume about Sturridge either. Case Closed. Also i was referring to his time as RW and as i said YOU even admitted he was dropped for no tracking back, do you even read my posts or? The English Media overhyped him for months, even heard Jamie rednapp compare him to messi at one point it had gotten so ridiculous, as i said your the only one who has hyped him up this much "SINCE" the english media. On point 2 re-read my post you seem to have no read it again....actually re-read everything. Has torres proved himself to be THAT guy? No, but he's done more to prove it then danny boy, is that sturridges fault? maybe maybe not the POINT im making is that tomorrow isnt the day to test it out. (5th time ive made that clear btw.)
-
Rather win it defending with 11 then loose attacking with 10..... We won it fair and square, Cahill and Luiz need time to gel anyway, tho i think everyone would rather Terry on the field tomorrow.
-
Long answer short, no.
-
I like how you ignored all my points, anyway, i'll reply one last time We can assume RDM wants him to track back, as you said yourself once, he was droped for not tracking back, so yes we can assume thats what he has to do, since every other player in his position has to do that. Ok moving on, No i dont belive everything i read, funny i think you do tho since the only people who ever hyped sturridge up this much was the english media also, I put that their as little sign off. My points are MY own, yanno the ones i listed above and you ignored. If you honestly think RDM should start a player who has barely played, in one of the biggest games of the year over a player who has played all our games this year on ifs and buts, then thats fine, but fuck i am glad your not in charge. Also 1 goal every 2 games has always been a good stat. Dunno why im bothering tho, you have a chip on your shoulder about Torres, and border on the fanatical for sturridge..
-
No as i stated about 15 times height is just one factor of why i would choose Torres over sturridge and yes you did seem to think it isnt important at all, He's not scoring as much as he should be thats undeniable, but he's still the better man for the job. Sturridge rarely if ever tracks back also, he's liability you've said it yourself before he dosent, whether he thinks he's a striker or not isnt the point HIS job is to PLAY where he's TOLD, thats HIS JOB whatever HE THINKS is irrelevant. If he dosent like it then he should leave otherwise he should listen to his manager and perform where he is put to the best of his ability, Finaly "Danny is better than Torres. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please stop it with this retarded defensive responsibilities crap. If Danny was made a regular CF starter he would also track back more because he would know that even if he doesnt score 2 goals, he get to start next game." IF!! yes IF he was a regular starting forward he might track back and perform defensively, But he's not and just because you think in time he can be dosent mean he should start a very important game on the off chance he'll perform responsibilities in the future. Tomorrow isnt the time to be fucking around making changes and hoping for the best. Why would anyone play a player who has barely played this year, in one of the biggest games of the year? I mean its fucking gormless to even suggest it. I'll happily watch sturridge become a better player in non or less important games, but you want him to start with unknown form in a must win or at least draw match? jesus. Edit: http://www1.skysport.../11668/8197628/ Take your argument up with RDM, as i said before 1 goal ever 2 games was the basis for a quality striker before the messi/ronaldo media circus started
-
Lol, loving this so he's pretty much the wrong man for the job completely since everyone wants him to play through the middle with our team of no width.....i hate and love being right. AS said before Falcao needs width as deos torres.
-
I wouldnt say most successful going down the middle or cutting inside, more like unwilling to do anything eles but i agree with the rest, neither striker is going to latch onto the balls how the behind players play would like tho and if i had to choose on the rest of the points for each, i would pick torres for what ive already explained. Its not all about height and in the air that was just one point in favour. It seems people ironicaly just want to "latch" on to that instead . Anyway we'll leave it at that.
-
It is down to skill of course, but being taller will help you in that regard. Being good in the air is no good if someone taller is good in the air as well. Sturridge isnt good in the air at all, Torres is decent.
-
Love how you all focus on ONE factor givin in Torres favour ,rather then actually giving points in sturridges favour. "Didierforever" thinks height in his striker isnt important, lol i love the irony.
-
Sturridge is not 6foot 2 contrary to what it says on Wikipedia, If you ever seen him play you'd know he isnt. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=906&tbm=isch&tbnid=JiGTHUUWZXaUXM:&imgrefurl=http://www.attackingsoccer.com/tag/daniel-sturridge/&docid=hDBOMJYcvG7hcM&imgurl=http://www.attackingsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Daniel-Sturridge-.jpg&w=415&h=308&ei=esmKUJyTFqm30QXUhYCwBg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=426&vpy=190&dur=288&hovh=193&hovw=261&tx=133&ty=78&sig=111814241256469542220&page=3&tbnh=162&tbnw=216&start=50&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:50,i:295 Carlo is 5.11, now does Sturridge look 6foot 2 to you? Bar in Mind Ivan and Terry are just about 6 foot 2 and Cahill is 6'3. If sturridge WAS 6.2 he'd be a better header of the ball and i would indeed like him to played for the reasons above.
-
Torres dose work better, already knew this i was adding points to his favour. It wouldnt be THE reason but it was defo be A reason. Height is important,End of story. As i said above Drogba headed out 90% of balls from corners and set pieces when he plays, so do i want my CF defending? if he can score and do both why the hell not? i get mad when people think they shouldnt be part of the overall team or pull their weight or just have OTHER responsibilities just because their a striker... What the hell is wrong with people, so defending means 11 behind the ball? cant just defend well and attack well anymore? has to be one or other ? i really dont know anymore can a team not be good at everything anymore? instead of just being attacking or defending? yanno before these "barca days" where if you dont play tika taka teams never have the ball on the ground and defending is a dirty word, teams did a bit of everything and were more balanced. Regardless of if Torres is "good" at defensive headers and attacking or not, he's better then sturridge in the air thats for sure, so he should be picked. Tomorrow is not the day to take a chance on if sturridge should play or not. As said above he's still better then sturridge, also if you notice in the matches highlight *most* was where terry was not on the pitch to boss the line and organize, we suffer when someone dosent take responsibility regardless of if torres does his job or not, also hazard mata or oscar are of know use to us in these situations either.....Torres has his jobs and he deos them as RDM says, he's always happy with his contribution and so far bar the odd bad game this year i am to. Thats not to say i dont think he could do a million times better. I also love the irony of most of these people love drogba a player who did everything i suggested above, but would rather a player or a team that dose none lol. Funny stuff.
-
Sign of the times, things ya see on here sometimes would make ya cry.
-
Why would i need to know him personally to not like him? i dont know any of the chelsea players personally, does that mean i cant like or dislike them either, What a stupid thing to say. I dont care if he's mother teresa off the pitch on the pitch his antics enough are to call him a little shit.
-
90% of balls headed out from corner when drogba played was from drogba, height IS important, especially when your midfield has only 1 player is over 6 foot, defensive headers from set pieces and crosses are very important or have you forgetting how Man Utd play?....torres is a better defender when needed and when defending high balls he can be of use...
-
I'd shoot someone if that little shite came to chelsea, Cavani not neymar, in fact anyone bar that cunt neymar.
-
Theirs no point putting in sturridge after him hardly playing so far, Torres will start because of experience, the extra height, and defensive responsibilities, whether sturridge players or not thats yet to be seen, I'd argue lampard would be needed here for a big game, but he's injured so otherwise i agree.
-
Would love to see him here.
-
Its like listening to arsenal fans these days.....they got an answer for everything and its always wrong....
-
Is no one eles ashamed of how much diving shaktar did all night? disgraceful, good "work ethic" my ass, diving shower of cunts more like. Other then that they played well, we played shite our younger players couldnt handle the pressure of a really hostile ground either. We needed experience and we were left with boys, unfortunate, tho i do like being right, pitty it was the bad kind of right. Move on.Learn Lessons. Beat Utd. Win at home next again shaktar. Also tho Torres didnt play great, to say sturridge was any better is laughable, he was bollix to and never got a ball either, no width again aswell for fuck sake.
-
This is what ive been saying here for ages over the whole cavani vs falcao battle, if were going for a big name then cavani is our man, offers somethings more, can defend, take a peno, create, can play out wide, maybe even a partner to torres at times, he just offers more as a player and most importantly something different. I can only imagine how great chelsea would of been if instead of shevchenko mourinho was let get ibrahimovic all those years ago....could you imagine drogba and Ibrah on the same team? maybe it wouldnt of worked but if anyone could of made it work it was mourinho.
