  1. Had a little nibble at mandzukic to score first and bayern to win 2-0 40/1 Well lucky it was just a little lol.
  2. I think bayern are gonna smash them. Simply because arsenal will try and play thier game at them and get smashed where as we realised we couldn't do that and adapted. 3-0 Bayern.
  3. Shall we all change our nationalities to brazilian. It would really confuse all the newbies on here... And @Liquidator, Alguns português grande google é extremamente útil.
  4. Yeah, so we should buy a 35 mil rotation option?
  5. Don't really see the need. We have healthy competition atm for the number 10 role. Even KDB who will have to play in the pivot for us has been playing there and doing really well. But the fact is mata is still young and is our best player. No one is gonna take that off him. Hazard likes playing out left. Moses has been great on the right and Oscar seems to be a backup no 10/any one of those 3 roles. KDB has to come back to us for next season and be groomed into the first name in the pivot if we do continue with the 4-2-3-1, as we need his distribution an passing from deep.
  6. We do indeed. Looks like we will have to agree to disagree.
  7. I don't think that is the case. Because of where he plays, he is often on the edge of the box and due to a lack of movement the ball is often pulled back to him as opposed to being crossed, but if there are no options and he has space he is gonna attempt to shoot, because he is one of the best at it. And i don't see how anyone can think he puts his own scoring record ahead of the team. Lampard, is probably the last person barring Terry whose committment cannot really be questioned.
  8. Wow, this thread has taken a turn. To clarify, i was not implying that soveticus was being racist, but simply stating it is their characteristics that make the defenders scared. Yes, as Zolayes pointed out, african players have a tendancy to produce those characteristics which would be scary to defenders, however it is their characteristics rather than skin colour. But anyway, surely we can all move on. Lukaku and Ba together would be something that would be able to match any partnership combo with strength and pace.
  9. He doesn't play as a striker though does he. He plays in the pivot but drifts forward. And if you actually think he plays like a striker then what are you watching considering he drops deep to collect the ball all the time. And if your just basing everything off stats, then whats the point, i could just say lamps has more key passes, goals and assists than his midfield rivals over his whole career. But because you want to base it of his last 30 games then that proves everything. You could also point out the fact that he has to shoot more because all season we have played a guy who has been more than useless at doing it. Stats also don't tell you how he has bossed several games this season. And because he hasn't had the immediate final pass before someone scores doesn't change that.
  10. Against the likes of barca and real madrid, it may be something we have to do... I think its a bit harsh to say that with him as a regular we can't contend for a title. As it depends what we do. We could sign a midfilder and move to a 4-3-3 which is always been his role and we could contend. I agree, he won't have a huge role. But that isn't down to lampard that is down to the manager and whether we sign anyone. Also atm Lampard is being played because he is our best option, as we have very few players who suit the double pivot in our formation. But i do agree, we are not the possession based team, we perhaps were trying to be (through the signings of oscar and hazard) with a lampard rambo pivot as it is not their style of play. As both are better for counter attacking football with rambo's stamina and lampards long range passing. However neither are suited to the quick short pass and move style that we need if we want to dominate and retain possession.
  11. He is definitely in my team. But not a guarenteed starter. He would still be a very useful bench player and rotation option. Lampard can still do it against the teams in the prem. And if i use your example of modric, in games where we will dominate, i.e. the lower league teams or the big boys at home then modric would be the man you would pick because of the fact that style would benefit us. Against a team where we may have our backs to the wall, he would be in my team. Just for his long range passing to give us an out ball, and his experience etc. Also against the likes of Wigan he can be a great player to bring on in search of a goal if needed, and would be able to make an impact in the last 30 mins of a game. And i agree that you brought up the formation factor because it does depend, If moirinho comes back and opts to switch to a 4-3-3 then assuming we bring in another central midfielder he still wouldn't be an auto starter but may have a much bigger role.
  12. ??? I am sure most defenders shit themselves when they see messi or ronaldo run at them. Colour should have nothing to do with it. Defenders should be scared of Ba and Lukaku, because of thier size, pace and power, not because they are black.
  13. True, but Jose has won things everywhere and it would be more trophies he hasn't won before to put on his resume. He may see it as a step down and it is in terms of competition, but he could go there for 1 season win a couple of trophies he hasn't got before and tick them off his list. If he comes here then other than the champions league he has won everything else with us. Of course i am just playing devils advocate here but it may be something he has considered because he has gone to portugal, england, italy, spain etc and won everything there.
  14. Exactly the thoughts i have been having recently. Buying someone like falcao would be great on the outset, but then Ba would be number 2 and Lukaku would get virtually no game time. Also if for some crazy reason we don't get rid of torres in the summer, then i wan't lukaku to stay on loan... Because having to be third choice behind torres would probably just be the end of things. So i have always loved the prospect of seeing someone like falcao in a chelsea shirt but the more i think about it the more i would love to see a Ba and Lukaku strike partnership. And that is something that could thrive under a manager like mourinho who we know likes a 4-3-3 and we could easily interchange between the 2. It would also mean we would have Quick and Powerful strikers which would differ us from a lot of our rivals.
  15. I agree with that, and the more i look at it the less i see him going to city, as mancini may not even be sacked. Also jose said his next job would be in england but the french league is one he hasn't won and something else he can add to his C.V. Love, or instant winning??? Go with the love JOSE!!!!
  16. His affect on the team? Yeah because scoring doesn't have an affect on the team... Oh wait...
  17. If we get rid of torres, then i would love to see ba, lukaku and a 3rd cheap choice striker who perhaps can play a number of different roles for quad depth purposes. Demba ba is one of the best strikers in the premier league but atm is suffering because of the fact we still have torres. Undisputed no 1 would be extremely good for us, also lukaku could then be the number 2 and get lots of minutes of the bench and what i would like to see at some point is us having 2 up top. Demba ba is used to it as he played that way last season for newcastle with cisse and lukaku does it when he plays with shane long, so both are experienced in playing 2 up front. Just think of the pace and power we would have with a strike partnership of demba ba and Lukaku. We could have a bit of a return of the power team we used to have that dominated aerially. And with the likes Mata/Hazard/oscar etc in behind that would be a pretty good team.
  18. It doesn't matter, as we all saw his pace and acceleration, so if he can do that whilst having all that power he has the pace and strength.
  19. Oh ok. I new one of the rules was a team cannot field a player from the parent club if they are in the same league, but thought they had to have that clause in thier contract if they were in a lower league... So the answer will be, that he won't play. Thanks.
  20. Amazing video mate. Probably the best i have seen of the greatest night ever! :blue scalf:
  21. I assume in his contract we included a clause where he is inelegible to play against us.
  22. One of the positives of this young team as there are a lot who can make up the team in the coming years, however i was picking 1 player from gk,def, mid,st, and i had to include oscar as i am in the oscar thread lol.
  23. oh yeah, petr jt © lamps drogba the great spine of the team. Hopefully in a few years it will be Courtois Chalobah © Oscar Lukaku Which will become the new "spine of the team"...
