  1. At least it happened early. Hopefully they sit back now, and we can pile on the pressure.
  2. Oh come on... We need to be more clinical.
  3. I'm saying on a season basis... 3 centre backs is very bare, and yes we did win the champions league without him, but i would have rather had another centre back in there. Especially with Ivan sometimes playing rb, and Luiz sometimes playing midfield. Cahill for me, is a great second string, but imo he isn't a first team centre back atm. True on the mls front regarding money, but they would have him and still pay him a fair chunk. IF it is true, (which I doubt), then it could be tempting, but he has a lot of money, and perhaps he just doesn't want to go to Gala. I think especially with Jose coming, he could really be utilised much better. Atm rafa doesn't play him, say he isn't 100 percent. JT says he is perfectly fit. Jose would be able to manage that situation much better.
  4. We don't have others to replace him though... Unless you think that luiz cahill and Ivan are the only centre backs we will need. Probably lots of foreign places, in a years time if we don't give him a year deal. Especially mls type leagues. Perhaps JT wouldn't want to go to gala anyway.
  5. If we bring someone in... Top quality, i. E. Subotic type, then yes, i would understand. But right now he is still one of our best centre backs. And managed right under Jose, him and Luiz would probably be our first choice pairing... Now we would have to game select a bit more, but i don't see, that after the injury he has been terrible as some people seem to think. He has had some bad games, but also had some solid games. Which defender hasn't.
  6. JT not for sale. Especially, when you consider the crap we have just clogging up the wage bill that is still here. We debate over 8 mil on a transfer like it's nothing and spend amazing sums, so I don't see why we should sell our captain either. Probably won't be first choice anymore. But there is not one player I would rather have on that pitch trying to defend a lead with 20 Mins to go. Now rafa is useless at subs, but Jose is not and he would probably manage him much better.
  7. Rooney is not the greatest English player of the last 10 years. I can't see rooney ever being a real leader especially after coming from United. The Chelsea fans would accept him, and get behind him no doubt. But he would never get close to the admiration that JT, Lampard, mata and hazard will get.
  8. Loads of coaches want the Chelsea job. We don't know what's happening... Perhaps Mourinho to Chelsea is pretty much done. Also there aren't many coaches out there right now is there, that are available. And you don't just phone up roman and say, excuse me can I be the manager.
  9. No resting of players... Worry about Wednesday on Wednesday... Best team... Let's get the job done. Cech Azpi Ivan JT cole Luiz lamps Oscar mata hazard Ba 3 points thank you very much... Come home Jose. And then think about the Europa League final.
  10. It also means that he hasn't had any poor performances. Torres I think has more than 3 times the pages that lampard has... Lampard is 100 times the player torres is... And it's only because he has been that bad that he would be talked about more. As for the voting. No he hasn't lit anything up... When you compare him to the likes of hazard. And azpi has been better value at 7mil. But for me ba has been head and shoulders ahead of torres. Just simply in what he offers for the rest of the team, even though he hasn't been playing that great. As for the "who do you see here in 5 years time"... We are Chelsea a buying club. Ba was a value buy with good resale value to help us... He was never bought to be a long term number 1 striker, so it is very likely he won't be here. But in terms of the game yesterday. He can hold up the ball better than torres. He is stronger... And most importantly he was fresh.
  11. He's a very good player. Not on the level of Falcao, Cavani, or Lewy... However this isn't football manager. Falcao would cost us probably around 50 mil, and could even include losing courtois. Cavani looks like he is going elsewhere, and Lewy looks like he is probably going to bayern. Just because we want the player, and roman has the money doesn't mean we get the player... In regards to rooney... The reaction in here seems to be either... Fuck NO!!! or Hell Yes! IMO: Positives: He is a proven PL player. Homegrown. Great goalscoring record Performs in big games generally. This season has been worse statistically mainly due to RVP being the No.1 Could fit in well with the likes of Hazmat. Would still have some re-sale value in a few years, to some obscure club, as he is a big name player. Negatives: It's wayne Rooney... More specifically, he doesn't seem like our type of player (I'm talking personality wise, rather than footballing) 27, probably won't get any better. Attitude can be questioned. Perhaps overweight Would have to pay over the odds as we are a rival club to united. Conclusion Not a bad option. Still has a few years were he can be very decent. Also we have some of the best AM's, and he should be able to thrive in that system... Add in to that the fact that we have goalscorers in a number of positons and Rooney's unselfishness could see him slot in nicely. Whilst i am not a huge fan of rooney, i am perhaps clouded by the colour of his current shirt, and if the price tag is reasonable, i.e. under 25 mil, then i would welcome this transfer, if we cannot get lewy for the same pricetag.
  12. @Leif, Lampard has let himself go??? He is 34 and still incredibly fit. Rooney is 27. There is not even a comparison there.
  13. Lol, perhaps he is going to the monaco grand prix and got misquoted. Tbh, it doesn't mean much... We have had probably a dozen random sources saying the Jose Deal is done, and we still wait for any confirmation. Need a bit more than 1 apparent account. And if he does go there, then he must be getting paid an absolute shit load.
  14. Terry, Lampard, Ba! I see experience, game changers. The best defender available. One of the best midfielders of his generation, who is set up for that situation, and our best striker available... All on the bench. You see no-one. I see Quality.
  15. Some players did look tired, yet we only made 2 subs. There is no logical reason for Benayoun coming on and just 2 changes.
  16. Defintely too much pesimism... They should all be really up for this game. Play a strong team and theres no reason why we can't win this game. Yes, they are better than when we played them in December. But they're still not that good.
  17. Welcome. Don't worry about Stingray.
  18. Would united sell him to a rival club though, for 25 million. I can't see it.
