Most of he plaudits going to Mount, however Tomori himself was absolutely fantastic. He done really well against Lukaku and his performance should not go unnoticed.

But isn't Kante a B2B midfielder? He can play DM but also B2B. He just is not being effective and either way when you are considered to be the best at what you do, you expect a little more from him. He did not contribute anything today and it is not as if he was excellent in defending either.

The difference being is that the team looked so lacklusture today and we are playing top quality opposition. Had for instance we played Liverpool today, do I reckon the likes of Jorginho and Kante would have been rested today? Possible. Now with 3 days after Wednesday and the team dropping points today, that game on Saturday becomes a lot more important so I believe there will be wholesale changes.

Chelsea midfielder smashes Premier League record against West Ham

Attackers fault, not Jorginho's. -
After the pre-season he had, there is literally no excuse not to see Hudson-Odoi starting this. I will be absolutely fuming if he does not play on Wednesday. Assuming Clyne will play, hopefully Hudson-Odoi makes his return to football a miserable one.

He made a few misplaced masses, however made most passes on the field. He played like 2/3 excellent lofted balls which none of our attackers took advantage off. Giroud in first half should of buried that chance. Hazard should have made better of the chance Jorginho made for him second half. I can't see how any other of our players bar Rudiger was better than him. Kepa made one decent save but apart from that was not tested.

I am so baffled. He was our best player. He created so many chances but the finishing was poor. He was constantly dictating play. Kante, Hazard and Willian I am most disappointed by. I might sound harsh but generally think while Kante is a top player he is slightly overrated and is not as effective as he should be in our team. This is not just a knee-jerk reaction. This is me watching several games this season. Does his job but can do more. For instance he had a lot better game than Kante today but people seem to slam Jorginho and not Kante who was a total passenger. Hazard had a poor game but hopefully that is a one-off. Other than that he has been top class this season. A shame as that was a chance to go 8 points clear of United and keep level with Liverpool . Next week is going to be a true test of our character as this is our biggest test.

Bold move but I would take off Kante and bring on Barkley.
-
I thought Kova looked quite promising. Was picking up the ball and gliding past players with ease. Just need more of a cutting edge.
-
Have noticed this for a few matches now but Kante is not doing much in that role. Does the basic things but not getting enough from him in this position. Need to see him impose himself on the game more and use the ball, otherwise he is just not doing much on the pitch.

But even at 28, that is a fairly young age. LB really start getting slower from their early 30s. Way too early to talk about replacing him based on age-wise.
-
Has all the physical qualities with the technical qualities. Fully suited to the PL. Been watching him for a while and everytime I have been impressed. Last night showed how good he is against world class opposition and man, while a lot of Lyon's players were top quality, he was the pick of the bunch.

To be fair to Courtois, it was obvious he wanted to leave months ago. It is not as if it looked like he was going to sign a contract then decided against it. His contract ran out no year and it was clear he wanted to go back to Madrid to be closer to his family. Courtois even said that he already decided in March he wanted to leave. We just wanted a certain offer from Madrid and was not willing to let him go until a replacement was signed.

Sensational performance once again and top scorer in the league so far. Hopefully this run continues because right now he is literally unstoppable Hopefully he gets his personal best in a season and if he does not get injured, I am pretty sure he will do that easily. Certainly has got off to a good start. Sarri has managed him so well too. Eased him into the team by coming on for our first 2 games as a late sub and making a big difference in both games he came on. Then unleashed him from the start against Newcastle and it has paid off.
-
Yeah, a shame he couldn't get in the squad. Hope he starts on Thursday but doubtful. Looking forward to seeing him lineup against Liverpool in a couple weeks in the cup, live on the TV.
-
Been quite average tonight. Not made any errors but could do more. One thing I would like to see added to his game is a bit more ability on the ball on a consistent level. He is capable of using the ball.

You say that now. Burnley at the start of last season lost Michael Keane and Andre Gray. Two big players. Majority of people had them rooted to go down, including myself. Tell me one player at the start of last season, who you would of rated talent wise from that team? They lost key players and bought around 2 players from lower league clubs.
-
You probably would of said the same about Burnley for the last 2 seasons with the squad they had, however they survived. Sometimes, it does not necessarily come down to individual quality, but more how a team play. Assuming we would easily turnover a team like Cardiff with that team is naïve. Players need cohesion. Cardiff caused Arsenal a lot of problems last weekend. Morata is in the Spain squad, but yeah was an unused sub last night.

I genuinely believe CHO could go to a lot of teams and be a regular starter or regular rotation. I pray he signs a new contract here, however I am just looking at the other picture as if I was CHO, and I had that good of a pre-season and then did not find myself at least on the bench, I would be annoyed.
-
It is true, however was reading the Chelsea youth twitter page and it was in reference to Reiss Nelson being set to join Hoffenheim. Someone mentioned that he will get chances on the EL and cup games then the Chelsea youth twitter page made a valuable point in saying that CHO could go to the Bundesliga for a very respectable team and be playing every week. Look at Jadon Sancho. He features for Dortmund virtually every week and was regularly playing for them ages 17. CHO could easily do the same. He seems pretty level headed too as in he won't just sign a contract because the money is very lucrative. He wants to play. What will be telling is when we play Liverpool in the cup. I hope and expect him to start, however if he does not, would be really disappointing. CHO is surely thinking about this and you are getting an increasing amount of young English players who are going abroad to seek opportunities to play. In CHO case, he could easily play week in week out at a very good team across Europe. 10-15 games is decent progress for a player but not if it is going to be the same for season after season, especially when at the age he is now and quality he has, he could be playing regular football now.

A bit harsh considering that he got 7 goals last season. I don't think I have seen a FB/WB get those amounts before. Worth noting that he scored more goals from open play than from set piece situations too. I get what you are saying in regards to overlapping runs etc, however he picks his runs wisely. For all the overlapping FB such as Robertson, Walker and Mendy who I rate really highly, they don't actually score much goals at all.
-
His pace is such a bonus as well. Don't think there is a faster CB in the league.
-
1 goal, 4 assists mate. He got the penalty for Jorginho against Huddersfield. He set up Pedro against Arsenal. Won the penalty for Hazard and the OG was assisted by him. Such an undervalued player. There is not another fullback who contributes his stats in attack. Alonso the to the rescue again

They sold their no.1 LB in Bryan to Fulham. I assumed it was going to be like for like swap. But not the case. Last season, was a bit skeptical that he went on loan to League 1 rather than the Championship when he had been performing for us in our youth teams for a few seasons. He will get a lot of starts but look at players like Reece James who is a couple years younger but starting every game for Wigan in the same league. He is a lot more built. I just don't see him coming back into the fold if he is not starting every game over there.
