As well as Bamford has done in the short space of time, he may still not even play a game here. FWIW if Boro go up they may try and get Bamford permanently like SpecialJuan was suggesting.
-
It is not less difficult. Well Germany, yes and Italy as well. In Spain, Atletico, are competing with arguably the two best teams in the world and bring through their products. Saul Niguez came on for them against Real a few weeks ago and scored an overhead kick IIRC and they won 4-0. They gave him a chance in a game they needed to win and the 'risk' paid off.
-
You really haven't been watching them then with all respect mate. They have been dire in attack. Their best striker is playing in midfield and even he is inconsistent. RVP is decling fast. Falcao too. They badly need a new striker(s).

Alright. We are all Malcolm X and you are Martin Luther King..... His "brain snap" could of easily been a consequence of a leg snap. Maybe you are one of a kind but it is ridiculous imo to assume he should just get on with the game. It was a horrific challenge. You say "players at this level are suppose to be very disciplined"... yes and was Barnes disciplined when he did that potentially leg breaking challenge? No. It was reckless. Be serious mate,
-
I really hope the club appeals this. Barnes has done one of the worst challenges you can see in football and luckily Matic has avoided serious injury. I expected his reaction to be worse but he only pushed him to the floor. Yes, it is a red card offence but retrospectively we and Matic have a right to an appeal. You wouldn't find one player who is on the receiving end of that sort of challenge just walk off and get on with it. That is a challenge that could of potentially kept him on the sidelines for months. Other players would have reacted much worse and I hope the FA use their senses here and understand in the heat of the moment and how serious the challenge was, maybe a bit of leniency should be shown. If they are expecting a player to be like "let's be best mates" after a challenge like that then they are a bunch of twats. Happy to see non-Chelsea fans be giving support to Matic as well which is pleasing. I fully hope we put in a justified appeal.

That is what frustrates me about him the most. He has produced some brilliant crosses and goals but in watching the game, he does not have that ability where he can take on players, dribble past them. As frustrating as Willian has been sometimes, he always has that moment where he can take the ball past players because of his pace and dribbling ability. Oscar does not have that and he looks far too lightweight recently. Today he was awful. Literally.
-
Awful ref. But he was not the sole reason for our dropped points today. The team was awful bar Hazard who for me was simply fantastic. He was almost like a one man team. Luis had a very good game as well but offensively, the rest of our players were not up to scratch. Oscar played like the way he looks today: a little kid. He was so fragile and did not offer anything. Lost possession easily and nearly cost us. I honestly thought he was our worst player. Cuadrado was not much better but I would have rather seen him stay on instead of Oscar. Just what has happened to Oscar recently. His peformances are not up to scratch and he needs another kick up the backside because right now I am struggling to see what he has been offering. Zouma won a few headers but he really does make me nervous sometimes. He is very raw and I would like to see him prove his technical side of the game. Ref is a cunt, no denial about that but we were poor today. It seems we are trying real hard to not take this title. Boy, I will be livid if the trophy does not end up at Stamford Bridge. Not panicking though. The PL has had its up and down's all season. But there are a few players in the team who need to step their game up.

PFA Player of the Year 2015 & Performance of the Season?
Stats replied to Mustafa's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
That works both way imo. If Sanchez played every single game, hardly being benched, he could easily suffer from fatigue or not be as effective. Look when Sterling had that 2 week break. It done the world of good for him and he started performing excellently. If Hazard was given a little break, it would do him the world of good but right now we just can't because he is that good so the fact that Hazard has kept up to those standards is even more testament to how consistent and brilliant he has been. He has started every single PL game this season. -
PFA Player of the Year 2015 & Performance of the Season?
Stats replied to Mustafa's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Sanchez has scored more goals but considering we have Costa, Hazard has not needed to score the amounts Alexis has as we have our main striker. Arsenal have had Giroud injured for parts of the season, Welbeck is inconsistent as fuck while we have a prolific striker. Apart from the goals, Sanchez has not been much better than Hazard. For instance, Hazard has the most chances created in the final third and tops the PL for most created chances. Just look at the stats from whoscored the other day. Says it all. I wouldn't say Hazard has been better but they both have been excellent in their own ways. Sancehz stands out more because he scores more goals. -
Come on. Oscar frustrates me sometimes as I think he is very inconsistent and lacks the qualities I want from a typical no.10 but you can't compare him and RLC when RLC has only ever played 7 minutes in his professional career whilst Oscar has been playing first team for club and country for over 3 years. RLC has the potential to be a quality B2B player imo but you can't compare him to an established player in our first team and Brazil's.
-
After this game we have a whole week's rest. I am sure Hazard can get through this and then get a nice week's break. Willian most likely will drop out for the Burnley match because of your aforementioned reason. After the Spurs game we play West Ham on the Wednesday, yes. Yeah, assuming Oscar is fully over his muscular problem I think he will definitely start and hopefully Luis too. We are at home as well but we have to show them the respect like we have done to all the other teams by fielding our near possible strongest line up. There is no real reason not to as we have no game in the week. We may well beat them with RLC in the team due to the quality of the players around him but right now that should not be for consideration whilst we have every single player apart from 1 available. If I said to you Burnley would get a point off City, you probably would have laughed your head off, like the majority of us. But they did. With the PL, there is always a chance of an upset. No need for risks. I agree pefectly with your line up apart from RLC as I am sure Hazard will start. Courtois will start as well I reckon and in the PL he rarely rests Ivanovic so I reckon it will be Luis at LB and Ivanovic at RB.
-
I think the David Luiz obsession is turning you into a crazy person just like he is a crazy defender . RLC probably won't even make the bench let alone the team. Are you actually serious? It is a game we are clear favourites for but you are taking Burnley for complete mugs by thinking we can just chuck RLC in the starting 11. They already proved that they are not walkovers with the draw at the Etihad. Gave United a game as well and were quite unfortunate to leave Old Trafford empty handed. Hazard got kicked about in Paris but he will play this match because he is a warrior and we have been seeing this week in, week out. After this game we a rest for the whole week anyway. No room for complacency.
-
And how many games did he play for Barca out of position? Yes, Tottenham he was poor, I accept that but the majority of other big games we have had we have played quite defensive. I am just disputing the fact that you said he is a big game flop when he has had several quality big game performances. Fabregas has had other good matches in big games. I picked out those games because he completely stood out. For instance I could have picked out when Arsenal beat us 1-0 and Gallas scored. Fabregas had a solid game. I just didn't pick it out because he did not standout like he did in the others. Our approach completely changes against tougher teams. But yes I agree with the rest of your statement. We have to consider alternatives to playing the better teams. There was a good enough excuse last season for playing negative last season against the bigger teams because of a lack of creativity. This season, there is not that excuse. We have a quality DM, quality playmaker, and very good attackers. Something we will never be able to change from Mourinho I guess. It works as in we are not losing games but I would rather see us have a go more often.

I don't understand why people keep comparing us with Bayern. Bayern done their usual thing with passing but Shakhtar were effective in restricting them to shots on target. Bayern didn't sit back and defend. They were passing and looking for a way through but could not. They had 8 shots compared to Shakhtar's one. They just could not get much on target. We on the other had only had 2 shots that game. Bayern had a man sent off with 25 minutes to go as well? Do you really expect them to go all gung-ho away from home after that. There is a complete difference. Anyway I am sure Bayern will demolish Shakhtar second leg anyway but it is nonsense to try and compare our performance to Bayern's. Shakhtar were good at restricting Bayern. Shakhtar did not create and only had 1 shot that game. Bayern did not sit back. Their game plan was just not effective. We on the other hand were outplayed and were poor going forward and in defense. Our goalkeeper saved us from a beating last night. Complete difference. We could have done much better offensively yesterday night.
-
Maybe if we actually tried to attack the opposition we would see the best of him. How can you see the best of him when we are not looking to attack? Arsenal always attack. Let me give a few 'big games' where he was the sole difference. -Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea (yes us)- Fabregas 2 assists and 1 goal. Completely ran the show.(MOTM) -AC Milan 0-2 Arsenal- Fabregas bossed that match. Outperformed Kaka and scored. MOTM. -Man United 0-1 Arsenal- Fabregas provides a moment of magic minutes before the end just before the game looked like it was ending stalemate. Provides an excellent pass for Adebayor who makes it 1-0 to Arsenal. Not to mention the countless games he destroyed Tottenham. Not the biggest team but when Fabregas was at Arsenal, they had a quality team competing for the top 4. Oh and look at this, when we do decide to use him properly and give him freedom of the ball what happened this season. He provides one of the pass of the season for Costa in our 2-0 victory over Arsenal. He was given MOTM after the game. We let him do what he does best and made Ozil look like a clown. Look, I am not denying he was poor last night but it is because of the tactics we play. If we had a go at them and looked to play he would look much better. Is Verratti better than Fabregas? No. Was he made to look better yesterday? Yes, because they play to his strengths and he is able to do what he does best. Ask Verratti or Silva or anyone to do what Fabregas had to yesterday and they are going to be marginalised out of the game. If we play these type of tactics in the big games then we might as well just drop him altogether.
-
The annoying thing is we have done that in every single big game away from home this season and it has ended up backfiring. I had a feeling Mourinho might be negative but not to the extent we saw yesterday. The thing that frustrates me more is I have the feeling we are going to do this in every 'big' away game we have. If we do this sit back rubbish against Arsenal it will piss me off. Every Chelsea fan has a right to be unhappy about yesterday's performance. I don't usually complain when we sit back but the way we sat back yesterday considering the strength of our team, was a joke. I hope Mourinho seriously inputs new ideas in training in ways to be effective away from home because this style of football repeteadly against big teams is frustrating. It is not as if we don't have the players for proper counter-attacking football. We do but for some reason it is just not working.
-
Result favours us but a poor performance, really. This PSG team played against Caen and drew 2-2, in which they came out of the game with a few injuries. You would of hoped for a bit more of an attacking approach. Did we even have a shot that game? I doubt it. Think we had 1 shot that game and that was it. That is appalling. Judging by the game you would have assumed we were the fatigued team playing around 3 games in a week when the reality is we had a whole bloody week off. No injuries apart from Mikel yet once again we give too much respect to the 'bigger' teams. It is really frustrating. That is why I knew it was naive beforehand for people to think we would wipe PSG off the floor tonight because that is not our approach to that. Especially under Mourinho. Fabregas is a quality player but if the plan is to set up this way in every single 'big' away game we have is it really any point of having him in the team? He can't run and can't do all the tracking back we require of him. He is a playmaker, not an engine or counter-attacking player. Just look at the City game, tonight and even United. We let the opposition dominate too much and Fabregas is useless in this sort of contain-counter strategy. You might as well just have the balls to drop him and play a counter-attacking player like Cuadrado or Oscar instead. Because apart from his set-pieces in these games we don't see the best of him. No point mentioning his vision or playmaking skills because we don't keep the ball enough to utilize that. Mourinho must think. Keep setting up this way in the big games away from home, then is it worth having Fabregas or an alternative player who is faster and has more stamina. I know Fabregas was feeling ill but for me that is not an excuse for how he performed. The reason he struggled is because of the way we set up. Fabregas was the same in the other big games away from home and it is not really his fault when his best qualities are dictating play. Anyway, like I said the result is good but the performance considering PSG had a few injury concerns and fatigue, I expected much better. 2 shots for the whole game and especially considering the shots were not really that threatening is poor. The most annoying thing is we have the players to hurt these teams if we went for it but like usual in so many big away games we don't show that much ambition and it is a shame with the amount of flair players we have. Others may accuse people of whining for unnecessary reasons but I feel justified in my reasons to be annoyed with our performance tonight. Hazard for me MOTM anyway. His balance is amazing.

Biggest pile of rubbish you can read. He is a good young striker but there is no truth in it. Especially for over £10m. He would ruin his career coming here tbh anyway. What a ridiculous rumour.
-
They have a lot of injuries but a line up of: Sirigu VDW- Luiz- Silva-Digne/Maxwell Motta Verratti Matuidi (assuming fit) Cavani Ibra Lavezzi Can easily hurt us. "We should beat them without not too much difficulty" is extremely complacent. That is still a very good team. The thing is with all their injuries, they are blows in terms of possibly changing the game but every single one of those players are rotational players for PSG and not regular starters. They are at their home ground as well and will have the crowd behind them. Yes, they are not playing that well but their motivation will be sky high for the UCL.
-
Chances created.... I can swear he is at the top. That is what I saw from skysports yesterday. Well that was from open play so really that stat should say he is first.
-
Sorry but that is rubbish. Kane has an excellent work rate, excellent strength, good movement, links up with play excellently, good technique, good aerial ability. And you are comparing him to players who are more or less the finished article. You obviously have not watched him if you assume is all round game is average. His all round game is excellent and that is why he is scoring goals and being a complete nuisance for defenders. You sound more like a hater than a fan because your analysis of him does not make sense at all.
-
I am a huge fan of Bamford but right now Kane is much better of course. It is not even oan overexaggeration to say so. Kane, as other people have mentioned has speed, strength, technique, heading ability and for me is a quality all round striker. He ripped us to shreds and won the Arsenal game by himself as well. Initially I thought Kane was a player who performed in the EL only but it is quite obvious now that not just by his goal but his overall play that he has the potential to be a world class striker. He has it all. Right now Kane is on another level to Bamford.
-
Don't think we have much choice
-
Well in terms of individual talent, Coutinho is better. He is faster, better dribbler, more creative. Oscar is probably more effective in the final third as Coutinho can be wasteful. He has been playing brilliantly recently though, must say. But there must be a reason why Oscar is constantly picked as the no.10 by the non-stop changing managers for Brazil.
-
He is our best player. When do you expect him to be rotated. He is that vital to our team. We are aiming to win the league. Hazard is a cut above most of the other players in our squad. Can you expect us to go into any PL game and think we can just win by resting Hazard? I don't. It is a risk. Anyway we have a full week ahead to get prepared for Villa. Hopefully Hazard and co are completely fresh for that game.
