  1. AVB HAS APPARENTLY BEEN GIVEN A THREE YEAR DEAL AT TOTTENHAM! I fear he'll do well there. Very attacking team, a board/owner who thinks more like him etc.
  2. Future Chelsea legend. Clearly.
  3. I understand what you're saying, but I'm still adamant that the things he gets right are lucky guesses or taken from smaller accounts who actually DO have sources. I'll give an example of something made up on the spot which would sound convincing to some re: Debuchy: - After the completion of the Eden Hazard deal, to Chelsea; from Lille, Lille's sporting director has built a stronger rapport with Chelsea head scout Piet de Visser [who spoke personally to Eden Hazard before his signing], both of whom actually scouted Eden Hazard together (although for different clubs) in 2005, 2 years prior to him signing a deal with the French club. With one of De Bruyne or Lukaku looking like heading out on loan to Lille in the new season, my source tells me we've been given first refusal on Debuchy, who will be making his decision after Euro 2012. His release clause is rumoured to be £8mill, but Lille look likely to accept a £7mil bid from us, after rejecting a £6mil bid from Newcastle United. Easy peasy. Now if Debuchy signs and one of our players goes out on loan to Lille (which is semi-likely), I gain credibility. If Debuchy doesn't sign however, I say that De Bruyne/Lukaku didn't want to be loaned out to Lille, so the deal was called off (assuming they don't actually get loaned there.)
  4. Sorry for sounding like a cunt, but although the ChelseaRumours person seems like quite a nice guy, what he says is bullshit. His 'sources' are actually just his own 'assumptions'. Most of what he says is either made up on the spot or copied from an unreliable rumour sight like CaughtOffside or TribalFootball.
  5. I'm beginning to believe that Debuchy really should be our top priority now for a few reasons: First of all - Although I do personally feel safer with him at right back, it's no secret that Ivanovic prefers playing at centre-back; as he came out to say a day or 2 ago. Terry, Luiz, Cahill, Ivanovic. We'd be set for centre backs then. Debuchy would come in as our number 1 right back, with Ivanovic, Ramires, Romeu and Ferreira all able to cover, as well as Hutchinson. (Of course I always go on about how I'd love Todd Kane to be our right back, but he's far from ready at this point.) This would also bring another French speaking player to the club (Cech, Lampard [a bit], Malouda, Lukaku, Kakuta, Courtois + De Bruyne) which I believe is essential to help Hazard settle. When you spend this much on a player [Hazard], you should pull out all the stops to make sure they hit the ground happy. The fact that he and Hazard are also both Lille boys can only be good. All that aside, he's simply a great player, who would be fantastic value for money. Do I want him? Yes. Do I think we'll get him? No. Where do I think he will end up? I believe he'll either stay at Lille, or go to Newcastle/Roma/PSG/Inter Milan. How much do I think he's worth? £12mil. [Rumours have it his release clause is around only £8mil though!]
  6. Wycomobe and the Newcastle loss, too. Watched literally every other game. Still raging about the 3-1 loss to Man Utd though. TWO of their goals were offside (Nani received the ball offside, before cutting in and shooting that great goal), while Smalling was offside before he headed in that goal, yet not a SINGLE pundit acknowledged this to my knowledge. We should have gotten 1 point from that game. Shoulda got the 3 points too when we drew 3-3, considering they only deserved one penalty. GRR. Hate them.
  7. Jovetic would work on the right, but only if Mata dropped deeper, and our wingers became 2nd/3rd strikers as well as wingers in my opinion (like Arsenal often do.)
  8. Right lads - It's me, the grumpy self-proclaimed know-it-all (just joking). Been about 2 seasons now sadly since my last Chelsea game. Think I'll go to a few this season. I particularly want to be at the Bridge when we face Arsenal. Anyway, has the atmosphere changed in particular ends, tiers, stands etc? I usually alternate between the Shed End and M. Harding. Any recommendations for when we face Le Arse? I just wanna sing my heart out and pull a few mooney's to the silly reds.
  9. I'm so happy that Lampard will never be in one of those "best players to never win the Champions League" lists. LOVE U LAMPS.
  10. WE'RE ABOUT TO REACH 11MILLION 'likes' ON FACEBOOK! WOO! LET'S GO CRAZYYYY!!!!!!!!
  11. SHUT UP YOU CUNTS! WE'RE GETTING A STATUE OF SCOTT PARKER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!
  12. No The primary school, high school, and some weird half-college shit were all joined together as 'one school'. I am certainly not 10. 12 however, would be more accurate.
  13. Pissed off. A girl from the school I left last year is trending on Twitter (Martha Payne) for being a "hero" for taking pictures of the shit food she was given at lunch by the school. No one forces you to eat the food ffs! It's not even the school's responsibility! Take in your own food if you don't like it! She's being backed by Jamie Oliver, too. The council made her take down her blog posting pictures of the school food, and probably rightly so. You're not even allowed to take cameras or mobile phones into that school, so she broke the rules, and put people's jobs at risk. She's only 9, but deserves a slap.
  14. Him staying is good for Serie A, so I'm glad he'll be in Italy next season.
  15. Sorry if already posted, but Abramovich visited the Germany squad apparently before the game vs. The Netherlands to talk to Schweinsteiger "about the Champions League final". This comes from Joachim Löw, Germany's manager.
  16. I'd LOVE to see this team some day (or something similar) - 1) - This starting line-up features 5 British players, which is rare for a top team in England to do (only Manchester United and Tottenham ever seem to achieve this.) This would give us good communication, especially down the left flank. 2) - Bertrand started his career as a winger - Bale started his career as a full-back. They now play those roles reversed. Having them on the same flank would be awe-inspiring. They would switch between being a winger and being a full back throughout the game, constantly keeping the opposition on their toes. The left side would be defended extremely well. Not many players would get in a cross from our left flank! 3) - Luiz COULD in SOME games play as a Libero, bringing the ball out of defence and playmaking, with brilliant long passes reaching Bale/Hazard, or short ones reaching our main playmaker - in this picture, De Bruyne. You will see the arrows coming off of Romeu. When Luiz does go forward, he can go back a bit and reconnect the back 4. 4) - When getting stretched too much in midfield due to the opposition having more/better/faster wingers, Todd Kane would come out of defence and play in his wide-midfield role, while again, Romeu would drop back (but not quite as deep this time, otherwise the centre would be exposed with only De Bruyne there.) 5) - De Bruyne would hold his position in the middle, being our central heartbeat playmaker, dictating tempo, while Hazard and Mata constantly change positions, creating havoc in the final 3rd. They would also both act as advanced playmakers. This gives us a playmaker in every single area of the pitch at all times, meaning we should dominate possession each game. 6) - Sturridge wouldn't do too much. Simply goal poach as I believe that's how we'd get the best out of him, considering his great speed, unpredictability and big balls to try shots that other strikers wouldn't dare doing. 7) - We then have the likes of Ramires, McEachran, Lukaku, Marin, Kalas, Ivanovic (if he's still around), van Aanholt (if he stays as back up, which I doubt) etc. all able to slot into this tactic. This team would have the perfect balance of attack and defence, and would also feature a few home-grown players which is great to see. When up against a daunting opponent such as Real Madrid, Todd Kane would start in midfield as he's naturally more defensive minded, creating a flat four of Bale, De Bruyne, Romeu, Kane, while whoever we have as a rotation option would start at right back. One of Hazard or Mata would then be dropped, and we'd play 1 attacking midfielder behind Sturridge. We then counter attack with amazing pace, and defend in numbers. (Of course these wouldn't be our tactics EVERY game. This would simply be what our other tactics are based on.)
  17. Cannot wait to see him in the Europa League next season. Aside from a few concentration problems this season, he has been outstanding.
  18. Perfect time to raid Tottenham. To be honest, it would actually be better for us to get a left winger than right winger in my opinion. Hazard on the left means cutting in and probably shooting (not good for Torres), where-as on the right wing he could easily whip in a cross and be more comfortable. Torres Bale--Mata--Hazard That would destroy any team's defence. Literally any. Bale is pacey and direct, with bundles of stamina AND defends well (which Hulk does not) as he started out as a defender, while Hazard has trickery and awe-inspiring dribbling skills. Mata is Mata; one of the best in his position, where-as Torres, well, people know my thoughts on him. Would be a very happy man if we got Bale instead of Hulk. It would probably make me stop my Torres moaning too! He's British too, which is a plus.
  19. As said above, Jovetic IS very versatile. However, he is indeed a SS like Del Piero and Totti (hence Juventus chasing him to, to replace Del Piero.) I've watched him all season, as he almost single handedly kept Fiorentina away from relegation. Do I think he can make it at a big club? Yes..kinda. But I don't believe he'll ever be a star player at a big club. He'll be on the bench most games, and then pundits will all scream - "WHY ISN'T HE STARTING!?!?", and then when he does start, they'll see why. Horribly inconsistent. Needs either an experienced manager (ala Ferguson) or a top Serie A boss to mould him into a diamond.
  20. Bale vs. Inter Milan was one of the greatest individual performances I have ever seen. The way he man-handled Maicon was crazy. Of course, Inter Milan weren't exactly at their best back then as with Mourinho gone they had dipped, but still. It was extraordinary. He does look like a monkey and can be inconsistent, but he simply is outstanding when you consider his age. EDIT: Crap, wrong thread.
  21. We rejected him. He then went on to become one of the best English central midfielders in the country. I want him back
  22. Right, let's go shopping. Parker and Walker please. Parker IS what we need right now in the double pivot (I really don't like him though), and Walker would be a nice addition at the back, giving as an English back four which I'd love. Walker--Cahill--Terry--Cole = Decent. Very decent.
  23. Di Matteo >>> Jose Mourinho. Yeah bitches, I said it.
