  1. Such a class performance, and so recently back from his injury as well. If Terry can return to form as quickly as Lampard has we'll be in serious business!
  2. A good performance today. Whole team was clicking on all cylinders and poor Villa had no chance from the opening kick.
  3. I like that we are being a touch more direct, trying to play players in behind more often. You have to put defenders on edge between stepping up to fill space when Hazard/Oscar/Mata have it and being fearful of those players playing someone in behind. Right now, that someone has to be Torres. It is similar to how he was played in behind time after time with the scuds. Until we replace him he needs to bang these chances in a lot more frequently.
  4. I was encouraged but Nords just gave each of our midfield players time and ACRES of space on the ball. Allowed us to get in a comfort zone.
  5. At first I was sad that we wouldn't see those beautiful gold numbers on back of the shirt...then I remembered we can bring them back out for Europa!
  6. Didn't expect fireworks today from our squad. Too much has happened recently. But a clean sheet is nice against City. I'm glad we are heading into a busy schedule. Hopefully we can play our way out of the doldrums with repeated match after match.
  7. Thank you SAF for giving Chelsea fans and players something else to focus on. Namely, how much we hate you. Fuck off. KTBFFH.
  8. Anelka would make more sense than Drogba...for our new style of play.
  9. Same team that van Aanholt is at, iirc.
  10. He's going to be extremely important to us during the run of CL group stage matches. There will be a ton of playing opportunities for him in those months.
  11. Danny will have to be doing the deed through that patch of matches. Fitness will be key as well as players like Moses, Azpilicueta, and Oscar adjusting to Chelsea quickly. Exciting few months!
  12. I think Porto "rejected" the offer with the full knowledge that Hulk would never agree to personal terms with Zenit.
  13. Happens in Africa everywhere...including my home of Eritrea.
  14. Quite simply no. Especially with his performances recently.
  15. Class player. I've always liked his game. He can be an excellent squad player for us. He's a good passer of the ball and is very intelligent in his play, but also has the physicality needed for the EPL. If he can accept a rotational role here, I'd love to have him.
  16. At this point pray for Luiz and Cahill to stay fit. If something goes wrong with that, I'd rather see Essien or Mikel slot in before Bosingwa. It'd leave us more depleted in midfield, but that can be remedied with Kalou playing more withdrawn, or playing Torres with Drogba.
  17. He is an extravagant talent, for sure, but he does make me wonder how well he would translate to the EPL? You don't have a ton of time with the ball here. He would have to extremely adapt his game, which may be taking some of his best assets away from him. From a neutral perspective, I'd love to see him play in Italy or Spain. He could have a ton of time on the ball and really show Europe what he's capable of. A player that I think can truly make a splash in England is Ganso. His game is centered around distributing the ball as deftly and quickly as possible, which is more readily adaptable to English football.
  18. He'd be a great buy for the league and for various cup ties, but I dont know how well he's cut out for big time European matches? The thing I most like about him (and Papis Cisse for that matter) is his ability to snatch goals from relatively nothing. He doesn't need great chances and great delivery to score goals. It would be a very shrewd bit of business for Chelsea. If Ba is willing to be the second man in the rotation, I'd love to see him at The Bridge.
