If you track back his earlier life in NYC, in which circles he appeared and who were his friends (Epstein being a notable one), it's easy to see where his "smarts" come from. He's a "modern" mobster. They just replaced the dumb muscle with lawyers.... the shadier the better. The strategy is delay, deflect, and attack everyone who's not on your side (judges, victims, witnesses). The "delay" bit being the most important one. The justice system is very slow and good defense attorneys can make it even slower. Of course half of the Supreme Court has his back no matter what, justice Clarence Thomas being the worst there is, plus the two Trump appointees (thank you dems!). Judge Cannon, also appointed by trump, does his bidding even in embarrassing ways. We elected this garbage human being, so it's on us--not with my vote tho.

It was a staple game for Rashford IMO. If one did not understand what his strengths and weakness are, the game yesterday should have helped quite a bit. I don't know how dedicated he is in the daily activities of being an elite footballer, but what I see on the pitch is a physically weak player. He lacks power and is easily outmuscled out of plays; lacks agility which might help in tight situation when trying to apply a finish when off balance. For folks who did not watch the game (City vs United), Rashford scored a fantastic goal with a one-time shot from afar. Then, he was easily outmuscled when 1x1 against a defender and failed to make contact with the ball in a tight position on the right side. Both of which might have helped United get points there. The game was a lot closer than the final scoreline might suggest.

Hehe well, he had a few (more like several) WC players around him to help out back then. Seriously though we complain about caicedo’s passing, but he can hit a long ball and assist rarely tho (still 20yo). The one thing he has in common with Mikel right now is the absolute inability to shoot and score goals. caicedo is quick and very mobile—the opposite of Mikel. Despite the shortcoming in caicedo a game he’s still more useful than Mikel was.

glad he found his calling--wasted a decade trying to play football. 😃 Caicedo now at 20yo is is twice the player.

Too many variables to even establish correlation much less causation. Different attacking and midfield players with different intent and capacity of defending. Goalie, FBs, the whole team changed! I like Colwill, but not sure yet about Badiashile. Disasi is too slow for the PL esp if you don't want to play with a low block. Silva has overstayed his welcome by a a season or two. So, even tho I don't buy the relation above (unless it were about American football and with the same defense coach 🙂 ), I do think we need CBs esp given that Fofana is perma wrecked

Worse than a bang average 24 is a bang average 19 yo who does not even body mass to compete at this level. The key is to get good players, but the age of the squad, as well the experience, has to be considered; it is always considered.

Because the answer is having MORE youngsters... more cowbell! 😃 You know we have a U18 team if you are into that.

I'm afraid Conor may be one of the very few players who can get a big offer in the summer. Unless Sterling goes semi-retirement route. Different characteristics in the players you listed: some far more attacking minded than Conor--which may be a good thing if we can convince Enzo he's a CM. Except perhaps de Jong who's more of a positioned CM? good passer tho.

yup and I think a confident FW tends to try the dribble/cut/go round more often when he does not see a clear shot. Oh well.
-
I think he applied the same finish he tried and missed twice against pool. The difference is that Liverpool goalie was quicker and blocked him in a way he should've tried something different -- like dribble past/round the goalie not attempt the strike. It was a poor decision rather than a bad shot (against pool).

Are you saying... progress?! 😃

oh there several shades of gray in between the different stances. Maybe some spurs hatred rubbed in? 🙂

🤣 Something tells me you might not be a fan.

You guys are mad with Poch and I am mad with the club when I look at the bench in games like today. Klopp employed his kids against us, but he did not expect them to score and win the match. They all played like shit. Why do we expect our kids to come on and win a match is beyond me. You play your best players rather than go entirely by each stoic position. 🤷♂️ We just found out that Jackson plays better on the wing rather than center attack, for ex.
-
Yeah I will disagree with you here. I hope both are shipped very far away in the summer. Gallagher is a bit tricky and it depends on what he demands salary/role.
-
tbf he is right that he runs faster without the football. 😆

Considering we have that one "ready" attacking player sitting on the bench atm, Palmer. Dunno how he will make 2 subs for the attack tbh.

Still waiting for someone to name a single win by a team as young as ours. I can remember extremely experienced teams winning with lousy managers, but not young teams. They make too many mistakes to win silverware. Managers do not tell attacking players what to do. They can ask them to close down a FB or something like that, but once they have the ball they have the freedom to create and play -- that's pretty much everywhere. Perhaps Pep limits his attacking players a bit more. Same story everywhere 😃. The "evil" Manager makes mistakes, while players get excuses. I for one did NOT think what they did against Liverpool was OK. If I thought they were insufficient before that match, I'm now even more certain of that. Mudryk's numbers alone are abysmal. Madueke has trouble controlling the football... neither is good enough for Chelsea FC.
-
Too bad they were not allowed to do any of that by the Liverpool "kids" despite being on fresh legs. Sometimes the answer lies with the opposition.
-
Don't think we are saying the manager isn't important to win silverware -- it is! Maybe I can think of a quack like Di Matteo and with that extremely experienced side winning the CL, but not many examples. I personally consider this roster the very worst I've seen at Chelsea: extremely imbalanced, short (esp considering injured), overly young, and soft. Tuchel Cl team had a number of WC players... this roster has none. If we simply ignore personal opinions and personal preferences and simply list where those players, who still play competitively (not semi retired like Kante), play now that becomes very clear. We focus too much on Kai and Mount (won't go there) and ignore the strength in every area of the pitch including options in attack we don't have anymore. Would LOVE to have RLC as a bench option right now, for ex. Regarding our inability to attrack the best managers, couldn't agree more. Not with these owners mentality atm.
