  1. Brilliant player and extremely intelligent. One of my favorite players in the team. No matter the manager, he will always play when fit. He will play for us and he will play for England, because he brings so much to the team. His tactical awareness is key in making a team competitive. All competitive sides have this type of player in their starting XI, but we have the best version of that type of player. Mount is young and will improve, but right now he's already an attacking threat especially considering all else that he already does for the team. you know not long ago this fella assisted in a CL final. He seems to up his game against the toughest opposition. That’s what I like most about him.
  2. Lol alonso had a good game and so did Jorginho. They did exactly what the game required esp after the sending off which is slow down the game a bit. starting alonso is a choice by the manager who’s the one thinking about team balance and strategy. It’s not like he’s a new player and his characteristics are unknown. Agree with @Tomo on lukaku and while we can argue about the start, the second half demanded a different type but he will keep on playing regardless. all in all a good game esp considering the situation Reece put us in. regarding the penalty, as clear as day with obvious intent. the red card, although appears excessive, is meant to work as a deterrent. In other words, the player should’ve known better.
  3. As clear a pk as it gets and a red to follow. Folks here are nuts… lol stupid play by James. Take the goal and play the fucking game.
  4. Reece was stupid. Let the ball in. Take the goal and stay with 11. I do t like the double jeopardy situ here, but it’s the rule atm and players should be aware of it no excuses. lukaku was having a pretty mediocre game for me which was not surprising but hey.
  5. Rumor in Brazil is that PSG has made an offer for G. Jesus. Makes sense to me: join his buddy Neymar and PSG gets a workhorse that will willingly run into the ground for Neymar.
  6. good for arsenal... now they might be able to get rid of Aubameyang Skillful player, but way too lazy for the modern football. Folks criticize Arteta, but Arsenal has 3+ players, many of whom are attackers, who will never work in a high press system.
  7. Soucek is also a very good player. He's always a thorn when we play them.
  8. Timing of these tough away matches (even arsenal should improve later in the season) has been real nice. This is the best time to play Liverpool and we are in better form than they are. The return VDK is obviously huge for them, but we have carried our form from last season. Our pressing is great and so is our movement... we can play anyone at the moment.
  9. Easy game against a disjointed team. thought lukaku had a good game nothing special. Couple of poor touches and miscontrol, but physical presence at all times-basically what we expected of him. Dominated in all areas of the pitch. Embarrassing Arsenal… Pepe is such an awful footballler. we even gave them a chance by resting kante for most of the match. Lol kai is becoming an amazing player!
  10. perhaps the 200 coaches and scouts linked to the club did not think Tomori was good enough? Being a good player shouldn't be enough here tbf. Regarding Trevoh, make no mistake this is his shot at this level; same as it was for Tammy before. Full disclosure: I did think Tomori has potential to make it, esp his pace.
  11. Hopefully not as hungry as he was at United 🤭
  12. That's exactly what I'm unsure of. People don't like to hear it, but team management in football at this level can be a zero-sum game in itself, especially when you already got a strong side and a winner one at that. So, while it's easy to identify an obvious problem (again not all top clubs employ that player), it's less obvious to know how much you will lose by replacing one of the players who made the team strong in the first place. Like I said, we hope it's a net positive in the end, but I daresay we don't really know that at this time. This is a time we need to trust the club and Tuchel, since he seems to think it will be a net positive.
  13. same 😆 TBF, it's not like he's not a proven goal scorer (esp if we take United aside), so my main concern was always around improving the team while maintaining what we have. And I wasn't (still aren't) sure Lukaku was the solution for that. All I can hope for is that however his presence changes the starting XI, that it's still a net positive in the end.
  14. Super smart from tuchel to let it go into pks too so to end the penalties curse. 😉 Tuchel’s squad management seems to be spot on for the start of the season. He’s playing the most fit, which clearly gives us an edge considering how uneven it is typically at this time. kudos to the preseason prep because we have several players flying high at the moment. While perhaps not match fit just yet, they are all running like dogs.
  15. Too soon to tell how much he can contribute, but he’s clearly physically a step above others atm so smart from tuchel to play him. A lot of uneven fitness levels atm so just play the most fit.
  16. don't know why he's so happy. He will play a lot less next season (same for Pulisic). Many times the attack will be Mount, Lukaku, and Kai
  17. Did not see anything special about his passing, but it could be nerves and the idea of only do simple passes as a result. Makes total sense as a replacement for Zouma, who thinks is better than he actually is and demands playing time-better squad player for sure.
  18. pretty terrible PK by Kai He did not look confident at all.
  19. Might be a good option if Zouma leaves.
  20. Dead? We were flying high in the final stages of the CL and then the final. I clearly remember how worried Guardiola was with our running and pressing. We will get back on form soon enough.
  21. we obviously need to let it go to pks and then win it.
  22. you are right, I stand corrected. It's a decision because of the pandemic. The starting lineup and and the subs made still prove the point.
  23. yes, the world is watching and will remember the winner forever... whatever. 🙄 It is clearly super important, so much so that it uses preseason substitution rules.
  24. come on. Nobody is saying we don't want to win. Just let's not make it what it clearly isn't. Good opportunity to get players moving. Some of them are clearly lacking match fitness.
  25. Number of subs is the same as a preseason game 🙂 Who won last season? and the season before? Nobody knows or cares.
