  1. I'm not so sure about that. It is a bit of an overpayment but it does also keep Benteke away from our rivals while still giving us a great deal of tactical flexibility. Costa, Benteke, Remy is an incredible strike force
  2. Me too. I think we need to let this play out a bit. There's still Charlie Austin and Benteke who are also excellent finishers and great in the air I'm not so sure falcao is our one and only target but one who is easily attainable given the circumstance. I'm sure we have a few irons in the fire.
  3. I'm not so convinced by dzeko. Extremely inconsistent. I doubt highly he comes here to be third choice when the reason he likely leaves city is because he's third choice.
  4. We're gonna have to sign a striker. Drogba made 29 appearances this year, more than any other striker. It's clear with Remy and costa we're probably gonna need an experienced forward. No one comes here knowing they're likely third choice. Falcao has something to prove and will likely be motivated to succeed here seeing as it is his last chance at a big club. I actually don't mind him as third choice given the market and circumstances.
  5. Has dzeko expressed an interest in wanting to join? Is he comfortable with being 3rd choice striker? What's his record in big games?
  6. You're right we don't know. All we do know is he doesn't want to play for Mourinho again which is enough for me to say this kid is a loser.
  7. You're right but its also an end of the season friendly and I'm sure both teams understand that and will act accordingly.
  8. Well if its true Real Madrid don't want in it brings the price down considerably and also changes the queue for potential suitors. Man City - will definitely be in. I doubt they will be able to throw crazy cash at him but they will make an attempt. PSG - Same as City though they maybe have more ability to sign him since they have movable assets on their team(Cavani, Verratti) Chelsea - Without doubt will be bidding if it were up to me. We have the perfect set up for Pogba to come in and play without too much pressure. Barca - Everyone seems to think this is where he'll end up which would make sense if they go to a 4-3-3 but that almost guarantees the end of Iniesta... I think if Pogba goes this summer it won't be to Barca because of the transfer embargo and the lack of a real spot with Rakitic, Busquets and Iniesta. Man Utd - Maybe, they have the money and with Real seemingly out of the race the likelihood of capturing his signature increases for everyone. In truth I think if we go in we'll win him. Jose is without question the best manager in the world and he is probably a better fit for Pogba than even Hazard as far as reaching his full potential goes.
  9. I have Willian in the Right Wing position and I have Reus because he can score goals. I know all about his injuries and his recovery, watching Hazard made me think... That's all.
  10. Did you even bother to watch the video I posted??? They make it so easy for you, all you gotta do is hit the tab that says "DEFENSES" and you will see his defensive skill.
  11. I really enjoyed watching him operate in the middle of the pitch against Sunderland. Made me think of what the possibilities would be with Reus - Hazard - Willian
  12. You don't retain titles without going big in the window... Simple as. We have to be even better than last year and that's not gonna happen with a few squad players.
  13. Jose works on merit. The reason drogba played so much is because he provided us a target up top, Remy can't really play with his back to goal. If we don't sign a true target man(Benteke, Austin) that will mean a change in the way we play next year, likely 4-4-2 in some games.
  14. I think the kit look wack to most because we're all still getting used to Yokohama. its a lot of change.
  15. Couldn't give two shits about this little pum pum. We're better off without him, he couldn't handle the pace and physicality of the prem... Jose knows best.
  16. Well I don't think they have a choice since he's under contract. Falcao clearly has ambition and is motivated to find his game again, like I said if he has a decent Copa America I'd give him a look in... How bad could it be? I really doubt Jose will entrust a youth product with that role, I think he feels someone like Dom needs to be playing lots. Chica is interesting but I feel the risk/reward of Falcao is much higher, I see your point though there.
  17. Lol some people are acting like we're gonna make him our record signing and make him our highest paid player. The only way this goes down is if he is cool with being a squad player on squad player wages.
  18. Cash in on his name? he could just stay at Monaco if the plan is just to cash in, he'd make more too playing in a tax free state. I agree he has lost his explosiveness but I do think he can be a good - great finisher. Firstly its not like we're asking him to be our first choice striker, its third choice and if he can get back to even 70% he can be useful to us. We're not gonna get a big time striker to come here to sit on the bench, nor can we afford to have a big contract sitting. Who would you like to get as a 3rd choice striker?
  19. I think you're being a bit too presumptuous. Most doctors say cruciate ligament tears take about a year and a half to heal properly. Falcao made a couple extremely bad choices this past calendar year, first, he went to play in the toughest league in the world after coming off a serious injury. There was no time for him to adjust to the pace of the league while he was still finding his feet. The next mistake he made was going to a team still trying to find its own identity in Utd. He had gone to a team with an already set philosophy and a way of playing he would've had a better chance to get acclimatized to the league. He basically got lost in Utd's erratic play and couldn't settle; not only that but the desired style Utd chose to employ did not suit his game. I think he could work here but I wouldn't bring him in unless he has a really good Copa... Use the summer to assess him and if he does well we bring him in on loan.
  20. I think the major difference will be with our medical staff we have a real knack at making unfit players feel much better. The key is to get him after the Copa De America, if he shows he's again ready to compete at a high level then its a no brainer. The important thing is he allegedly wants to come here.
  21. Brana isn't getting any younger and while he has had a good season, you can see him falling off hard next year.
  22. I don't know much about him to comment, judging from his numbers and youtube vid he looks like a Jose type player. If you can get the guy who provides exactly what we need the price shouldn't matter to a club like Chelsea. We can sell Luis and Moses and the fee will be covered.
  23. I wouldn't say that. Azpi is probably one of the best fullbacks in the game and Brana gives us a tactical advantage from set pieces. They both been extremely good and when Luis has played he wasn't able to displace them. I think it more a case where those two have been so brilliant its made it hard for him to break into the side.
