I beg to differ. We have to spend big money on at least one player, this is a chance to get to that next level. I really feel we will make one marquee signing this year.
-
I think you're getting a little carried away... Cahill was apart of the best back 4 in England the past 2yrs. That doesn't happen if he's just a shitty squad player. Give him his due he's not Terry but he is a decent foil to our legend. Having said that he's nearing 30 and we do need to look at alternatives.
-
No he's not... What are you talking about? the homegrown player status alone makes Cahill a valuable piece for us to hold onto. And if you truly believe loaning Zouma spells the end for him and that seeing him play 890mins is best for his development then he's not very good to begin with. Going on loan isn't the kiss of death, it is for those who aren't at the Chelsea level but not for people like DeBruyne(great year at Bremen) or Courtois. He needs to go on loan and prove he can be a top player by making consistent performances.

You really think a manager like Jose wouldn't make a request to at least inquire on Pogba's availability? He's pretty much the prototype for Mourinho football. I would bet my left nut we're in for him whether or not we actually get him.... entirely different scenario.
-
What are you doubting? That we're in for him or that he will come?
-
I think for me this is mostly about the mystique surrounding Jose's man management skills. If he can get Falcao back to even 70% of what he was this could be one of the greatest coups of all time. I'm waiting to watch Colombia play in the Copa before I make my final assessment but I'm optimistic Jose and our medical staff can get him back to where he was.
-
Yes because he is more experienced and was a big part of the best defense in the prem the past two years. He has had some shaky moments no doubt and I'm by no means a Cahill apologist but I just can't imagine a world where Jose sits Cahill on the bench to give Zouma the time he needs to develop. And lets be honest here as much as we all loved watching Zouma play he is still EXTREMELY raw. Another season of bit part football can't be good for his development.
-
Wow... in the last three years he's had reoccurring injuries that have forced him to miss calf - 16 games groin - 10 games Would you call Costa injury prone? because in the last 3 yrs he's missed less games than Remy.... I guess a better question is what do you consider injury prone? I would think it would start with reoccurring injuries no?
-
Gary Cahill is England's vice captain, there is a euro coming up. There is no way he's gonna be sitting on the bench for a 21yr old to get more starts. Zouma had a decent year not amazing. He had some good performances but most of those came with him playing in the midfield. The best decision for Kurt is to give him a loan spell that allows him to play a lot especially in the first half of the season.
-
You think Remy's injury history starts this year? Brother.... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loic-remy/verletzungen/spieler/45121 I like Remy too but if we can upgrade we should do it.
-
Who's placing blame? My point is we can't have an injury prone no. 2
-
Precisely my point. Every time he had a chance to get a run of games he got injured. We were forced to play Drogba... With Costa an injury risk we can't have our no.2 also an injury worry, especially if Falcao is coming here.
-
Am I the only person that thinks Zouma will go out on loan next season? Varane would be amazing here.
-
I like the fact that when he hits the ball it stays hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ9tKy0bkp4
-
I really like Remy but let be honest here, he is too injury prone to be our 2nd striker. Benteke, Falcao, Costa or swap out Benteke for Austin(Chelsea supporter) and we have a formidable strike force

Its a lock...

Your ideal team for next season ?

I would personally love to add Miralem Pjanic -

That's not saying much if I'm being honest.

Are you sure? I've watched a ton of Juve games this year and Pogba without question made a significant impact! I think you're use of hyperbole has gotten the best of you once again. Pogba 7.67 rating to Marchisio's 7.37 Pogba does a lot of things for that Juve midfield, the guys that catch your eye more are the all action guys like Claudio and Vidal but I bet good money if you ask Juve fans who their best midfielder is they'd say pogba 80% of the time.
-
Nah dude... We'd have to give him at least 4 years and there is no telling whether or not he can even adjust to the Prem let alone to Jose's rigorous tactics. 60m for a 22 yr old already judged to be one of the best midfielders in the world? Lets not ignore the fact that Pogba is more than just hype, the biggest clubs in the world are all chasing his signature, he can be moulded into any type of midfielder you want.
-
But not more worth it then Pogba at 60... You mention Ballack who was a large specimen and physically imposing, thats what is so appealing for Pogba. if he plays till he's 34 you have him for 12 yrs. Anyhow I'm pretty sure its well documented how much I'd like to see the club sign him so no need to continue this crusade.
-
What's good for some doesn't necessarily mean its good for all. Yes Ballack joined us at 30 but by no means does it mean someone like Marchisio who relies on work rate will be able to do the same.
-
4-6 years in the midfield at a club like Chelsea? are you nuts? We need to be adding top flight players who are nearing their peak or just reaching it.
-
I think you're getting a little(actually A LOT) carried away. I like marchisio but he ain't worth a penny over 20
