Its like people forget Utd's best run of form came with Fellaini playing the 10 and Young on the left wing...
-
yet to be seen. I like his experience and his desire to play but this only looks good if they grab someone like schneiderlin if you ask me.
-
Its not about the games played or the minutes accrued, a goalie plays more minutes than most players and fatigue is never an issue. It has everything to do with your role in the squad and for every player and every team its different.
-
I don't get this comparison game... Its so ridiculously immature. People! for the last time. Footballers aren't robots built the same way with the same desire and strength. Yes Neymar has played more games than Oscar but what is required of him in those games? is he asked to run around like a box to box midfielder and work extremely hard at both ends? Is La Liga as physically demanding as the Prem? Does Barca play the same style as Chelsea? Stop with these ridiculous comparisons its so immature and shortsighted. Everyone who's watched Oscar play the past few years can deduce two things, he's worked like a dog and needs a break AND that he needs to improve and find some consistency.
-
That's precisely what I'm saying. His body is broken and its difficult to predict whether his body will be able to adjust to the pace and physicality of the Prem. I have no doubt he can play, its whether his body can handle the rigours of this new league... at 31.
-
Neither had a host of injuries before they came.
-
Nice player but I'm not sure he'll be of much use to them. His body is broken and I can't see how moving to the Prem is going to be good for him with the pace and physicality its played at.
-
Makes sense because he wasn't going to play for us right away anyways. He strikes me as Fabregas' understudy, a guy that will give him a break every now and again.
-
Looks like a poor mans arteta to me
-
You like every signing
-
I think he does. Window closes in September not the first week of July. Look back to who we signed under Jose when we won in 2005. Wasn't essien bought for a small fortune?
-
I'm gonna be pissed if we lose out on yet another target.
-
-
I disagree. We aren't a finished product, we have our holes for sure. Remember 2010 when we did next to nothing after winning the double?
-
Barca won a treble and sign Turan, Vidal and possibly pogba. The way to maintain the status quo is by strengthening. You don't wait for your opponents to catch up before you strengthen. We need one biggish signing to go along with these squad players.
-
We need one big(ish) signing this summer, one that is worthy of the Champions. I don't know who it will be but we have to make one... Seems like we're just waiting to see what the others do first.
-
He's a one contract player. We can't afford the layout for a guy who we likely won't renew.
-
Turan at 28yrs old and £30m is an overpayment for a club our size. Glad we passed on him but we really need to add to the squad!
-
ALL of the stats... This is getting boring.
-
Now take those stats and cross them with the goals and assists stats
-
They complain about Sterling's finishing when Schurrle's shots to conversion rate was one of the poorest in Europe when we first signed him... It hasn't improved much since then either. I liked Schurrle because he loved Chelsea but he left a lot to be desired on the pitch.
-
In my eyes, yes. Along with those stats are his dribbling ability and also his chance creation(Key Pass) All things that make life easier for teammates on the pitch. Nowhere have I said anything about paying 50M for Sterling, 40M however and you got yourself a deal.
-
Ozil was subbed out of every game in the world cup. And much like Cesc isn't a goal scorer, Sterling isn't a Striker, he played there because his manager is a moron. Can played CB and Sterling played WB too. And this isn't belittling you at all. For every argument you present against Sterling there will always be a rebuttal, why? because many people see his skill and potential. At 20 he is already one of the best players in the Prem and possesses the physical tools to get even better if surrounded by a winning mentality and better players. My opinion and really not hard to see why.
-
I think Sterling is judged on BOTH criteria's current ability AND potential. He scored 7 goals (more than Ozil, DiMaria, Cesc) and 7 assists( same as Silva but more than Ozil, Mata) Ozil must've won those titles on his own... you are funny.
-
What? have you ever heard of composure? some possess it others don't or what about decision making? Accuracy? are these things that don't come into play? you think that because a player is 1v1 he should finish like Ronaldo or Messi? lol.... Yes and with Arjen and his high goals to games ratio is his inconsistent playing time due to injuries. The fact is what does it matter if he can score 30 a season when he can only physically play for half of it? And who are these incredible finishers on the wing(who score more than Hazard's 15) we should be after?
