  1. Okay... DeBruyne wanted to leave Cheslea. It happened
  2. He's operating from a weakened position. In the case of say... Cavani, his agent never went public. Same can be said about Higuain even though everyone knew he wouldn't be back. This situation, I think has hamstrung him.
  3. Well his agent has come out and said they do not want to play for Napoli OR Juventus. He wants either an Everton or Chelsea move... I don't think we're gonna have to make a knockout, over the odds deal to get this done. The players agent has gone public with his desire to leave and the last thing you want going into a new season is a player who clearly doesn't want to be there disrupting the camp. Patience is a virtue, Conte knows this.
  4. I agree with everything but I do sympathize with Mourinho as well. His father's health had to play a part in his lack of drilling home a message. I don't even think he was 100% focussed on the team coming into the season and certainly not given his emotional state when he heard of his father's condition.
  5. You really think they love Koulibaly right now? You should check the vitriol being spewed on his instagram. I'm all for an owner taking a hardline stance but when a player doesn't want to be there anymore why keep him?
  6. I hate De Laurentis! #Napoli chief De Laurentis: "He [Koulibaly] has three years left on his contract and he's not going to leave" #CFC #EFC (Dailystar)
  7. And you don't think Gyan is a little far fetched? I mean I'm trying to be as realistic as possible here... Lukaku and Costa are def not the best partnership out there but why not trust the work for a change? Look at what Conte did with Giovinco, Vucinic, Quagliarella and Matri? Definitely some real garbage who worked effectively in a good system.
  8. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I for one see the value in adding a proven goalscorer especially since goals were in great shortage last year. Costa isn't exactly the healthiest striker out there, I wouldn't be comfortable with just him and an unknown striker new to the league but thats me.
  9. Who? Anyways I'm very calm, I'm just trying to figure out why everyone is up in arms about acquiring a striker who at the age of 23 has scored 60 goals in the toughest competition out there. PSG will not sell Cavani, they have their ambitions too and he hasn't demanded a move away so its safe to say a bid for him, a 29yr old with no resell value is pretty expensive and dumb in this climate. Aubameyang I also like but he's just re-upped for a team he happy to play for, you think €60m gets him to the Bridge? guess again. Fekir? meh... maybe... haven't seen enough to comment but he looks more like a winger to me. I get the Morata thing, he knows the system and is probably ready to make a huge jump in his game. I just don't like the idea of paying €75m for a guy who scored 9 goals last year. Lukaku isn't the ultimate choice but he most certainly isn't the worst given his penchant for scoring goals in this league and also the fact that he is homegrown. Very value pluses in my books.
  10. No its not that I have a hard time believing it, its I have a hard time believing the source. They could very well want 80m I just doubt a known wantaway will ever fetch them what they actually want.
  11. I would bet good money he will be used in this fashion. I said earlier I think Pedro, Hazard, Cheek and Traore will be used as secondary strikers.
  12. Okay Diego wants a known psychopath who Conte purposefully left off of team Italy. Anyone else?
  13. Okay so we have no one from Jype Anyone else?
  14. Like who? Bleacher Report? Who claimed we pulled out because of the 75m price tag? So how did we make this €60m bid then?
  15. I would love to hear what the other suggestions are outside of Morata since so many here are so staunchly against a homegrown 23 yr old striker who has scored tons in this competition... And if I hear the name Gabigol I will fucking scream.
  16. The fact that he didn't even know about the bid and yes while he knows about Belgian players he's not exactly got the inside scoop on transfers.
  17. 60 goals as a 23 yr old in the toughest league out there and people are complaining about wanting to acquire him in a two striker system? My head hurts.... Oh and did I mention he is homegrown?
  18. Ya I get what you mean. Batshuayi is pretty nice on the ball so that solves that, also I would bet good money someone like Hazard, Loftus Cheek or even Pedro will see some time in that secondary striker role. If today is any indication on how we intend to play, I think most of the action is going to be played in wide areas with crosses and one on ones with our wingers. Team won't be able to double down on Hazard in this system and it will provide a lot more space for the likes of Lukaku and Costa to operate in. That's my take anyways.
  19. I would be very fine with a strike force of Costa, Lukaku and Batshuayi! With Traore waiting in the wings! Clearly Strikers and CB are going for a mint now(and Pogba!) €60m seems right for a guy who's scored 60 premier league goals at the age of 23... Given the market of course
  20. Honestly. I got a boner watching Conte's 4-2-4 today!!! My word did that ever look formidable and effective! I'm loving what I'm seeing from him so far.
  21. This pursuit has gone well off the deep end. €75m??? Hahaha record signing money for a guy whose scored 9 goals last season... WOW
  22. If you follow the words of the manager this is exactly what we shoudn't do. Does Jese fit into Conte's style of football? I would say emphatically, no.
  23. Ruud, you need to chill out bro. Let them set the price and we'll swoop in after, its the Chelsea way now. As soon as teams hear Chelsea is involved its 20m over the actual valuation.
