  1. Hilarity... I sound like an Arsenal fan? Do you even think about what you're saying before you type it? Everything you've said screams of a deluded Arsenal fan who thinks every player is available to them for whatever price they deem fit. Yes we couldn't sign Pogba for 100m which is a world record fee!!! BIG DEAL... Yes we didn't want to pay a WORLD RECORD FEE for a defender who was fucking shit last year!!! Conte wants QUALITY but not at any cost, have you been listening to what he's been saying throughout this process? You sound like what you want is anyone which is precisely what Conte is preaching against. There aren't a lot of players out there who can help us and the ones who can play for teams who also have ambitions to achieve something this year. This isn't football manager, its not a matter of just auto switching any player onto your team. We had bids put in for Rudiger and he got injured, we then went in for Koulibaly and its proving difficult since Napoli can't find a replacement. How many defenders do you think are available that are actually good?
  2. You kids need to stop whining and complaining about not signing players. If the clubs don't want to sell what else is the club supposed to do? Some of you say move on, move onto what? Jonny Evans?? Mustafi?? There just isn't a lot of value for your dollar on the market and overspending for secondary targets makes little to no sense since it won't improve our current situation... New shiny toys aren't always better than the old ones.
  3. Yes they were allowed to leave their teams the season after... What's your point?
  4. what the hell are you on about? There are only a small handful of players who can help us, if those players aren't available what are we to do?
  5. Matic played as a CM. My guess would be he was asked to support attacks and recycle possession. Anyways I don't think every player on the pitch is assigned a ridged tactical deployment, if you look at how Conte used Pogba you would surmise it was a more free role with a commitment to supporting attacking players. Having said that I really don't think Matic the type of player who flourishes in a freer role, he strikes me as a guy who needs to be given a specific role that can't be complicated. I'm starting to think Chalobah may have a part to play this season. If Matic continues to look out of place in the 4-1-4-1 I can envision Nathaniel getting a look in.
  6. Each player offered something different. Moses provided pace, cesc provided invention, michy power. So what are you saying? We can only be effective in 4-1-4-1 if cesc and Moses are playing? We were higher up the pitch with more bodies forward and yes having michy on made a huge difference, the shape change mainly but I don't think we can effectively play that way for an entire game in the prem. We just don't have the proper midfielders to pull it off for 90 mins week after week. I guess I agree with you in that regard... And yes conte is far from building a strong foundation but this is still the beginning of his reign and the foundation starts when players know what is expected first. The next step is perhaps finding a cohesiveness and this is still in its infancy, remember this is new to pretty much every player we have and conte know this. It is this precise reason why I don't like the gung Ho approach of attack mindedness first. Defense is the foundation upon which titles are won and right now we need to defend as a unit until we get the proper players who can hold down their position. Conte has done a fantastic job of changing the flow of the game at the right moment and its won us two games. That's not a mistake it's good management.
  7. I don't really agree. I think what Conte is doing is building a solid foundation first the other stuff will come later. He said it in his post game too, the 70min mark is when teams get tired and make mistakes. We injected pace, inventiveness and some power into the game when a hard working opposition were at their most vulnerable point. That to me is smart game planning not a mistake. You guys have a real habit of discrediting the opposition. Watford have a hard working team that play with 10 men behind the ball, they are well disciplined and were playing in their first home game of the season. Of course they're gonna come out and put in a shift. Had we started with Cesc and Moses say, we wouldn't have had the ability to make the changes once they Watford fatigued. I get the argument that had they started we might've been more industrious and perhaps scored earlier but its hard to say... Watford did well taking away the gaps to exploit and perhaps Cesc would've played a part in unlocking it but I prefer we build a solid base first with the philosophy of the new manager in mind.
  8. That would get overrun on a regular basis. Willian is a shuttler but nowhere near a ball winner and Cesc, well... that was a majestic ball but he's not up for a midfield battle.
  9. This stuff garbage. Skillen knows about as much about Chelsea transfers as Tancredi... So bad,
  10. We could use him but I don't see us paying a small fortune to get him. Koulibaly is a must.
  11. Elated!! It's about time begovic exchanges his cleats for clown shoes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Anyone who believes this ridiculous rhetoric that "Chelsea are going to go back in and bid £60m!" You either are new to the whole transfer window thing or extremely naive. Think logically for a second. If Chelsea were to table a bid for player X, in this case Koulibaly, why on earth would they let that info out to the press before an approach is even made? You think clubs are gonna use the media to test the waters before making a bid? "So Adam Burt here's what we're considering doing, we're gonna bid 60m for Koulibaly. We haven't spoken to Napoli but we wanted you to know that that is our intention." Anytime you read anything that says 'about to table an offer for' or 'have agreed personal terms but the clubs are still negotiating a fee' or 'unwilling to meet buyout fee' you can bet your house the article is designed for click bait. Bids for a certain amount don't 'about' to happen. If you notice DiMarzio's posts he tells you exactly when an offer has been made and for how much. None of this "Chelsea are willing to spend up to..." Bullshit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Was saying the exact same thing a couple weeks ago. Got no response from the peanut gallery
  14. And how important is the skill of being a ball playing CB? Moreover what do you value more a ball playing CB(Stones) or a rock to build a defense around (Koulibaly)? In my opinion we need both but without question the more important attribute is ball winner with pace and strength. We have Christensen coming back and by all accounts he's a ball playing CB and won't cost 50m
  15. I feel like at £50m we are overpaying but to be fair brexit fallout has seriously weakened the £. Napoli aren't making as much as they would pre-brexit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If you can honestly admit you've even heard of this guy before mid July I'd give you a pass.
  17. Wow Ruudi you change like the weather! One minute Everton is gonna beat us to him, the next we will sign him, then he's gonna stay at Napoli, now he's ours again?
  18. I love this sort of talk. "their level" "not a player that a club with title ambitions should be after" We finished 10th! they were 3pts back! says who? As a RB he is ahead of Aina and better than Ivanovic. If you ask me this is the type of signing you make to push Aina to be better. If he's only got Brana to beat now he won't reach his maximum potential. Kone is the right kind of buy to create some competition but not completely undermine our youth system... Call it a stop gap/challenge He can play anywhere across the back four, looks like a really good utility defender. Stop looking for household names in defenders, they don't exist. The bargains are the way to go!
  19. I hope we are in for him. He's not the guy you'd look to give massive wages to and think he will lock down his position but.... as a utility defender, a guy that can cover at LB, RB and CB he is fantastic. I see him as the bridge between Ivanovic and Aina.
  20. Just what I'd like to see, not what I expect to see.
  21. Ya you're right it means criticizing their every decision.
  22. Imagine we would've put in a bid for Renato Sanches??? He went to Bayern for 35m.... Kante-Makelele Sanches-Essien
  23. I don't share your belief that he's a very good player. I think he's very average... He keeps with our transfer policy though. Cheap unknown over world class proven.
