Here's the thing about that. Atletico are in the final 4 of the champions league and in pole position for a La Liga title, why on earth would they sell Costa? They won't need the money anymore and are highly competitive.

couldn't be more right. Atletico to the finals gives them a healthy paycheck to help keep their best players and thus keep La Liga(UEFA's league) from plummeting even further.

First off UEFA should butt out! If there is a legally binding contract that states Thibault can only play under certain circumstances then that's between the two clubs. I am actually glad we drew Atletico, was hoping for it! They are a very difficult side to play against but no more than Real and Bayern. We should be favourited in this tie and over two legs we have a better chance of prevailing than in a one off. Two legs, the second is at the Bridge. We should be able to see this through as Jose is obviously a tactical genius and will have the squad well drilled on what to expect having played them and not lost to them either. We lose Brana and may be without Hazard; they may be without Turan and Costa. Its gonna be a very close tie no matter how you slice it so all we can hope for is our experience in the competition and the spirit of the club take us through!

No player is bigger than the badge. If in fact Hazard wants to go play for that shitty little team that got murked in the Champs League q-finals by his current team then by all means go.

Lost in all of this is the fact that Hazard is 23! Not in the best moment of his career by a long shot... Also, please stop comparing him to Ronaldo and Messi! Those two are generational talents who are amongst the top 10 ever to play the game. Hazard falls into the slot of players that compare with Ribery, Del Piero, Xavi, Iniesta, Stoichkov, Gullit to name a few. He is a candidate for the Ballon D'or but not generational talent. Allow him the time and space to write his own history without killing it by making silly comparisons that don't make sense.

What he does possess is that killer instinct though. put your life on the line to score... and he's only 25. If you want a hard shot you should be championing Hulk.

In a dream world where all things are equal I'd still give the edge to Costa because he's proven against top competition and is just entering his prime years. Cavani is proven, yes, but he's also two years into the years where you need to prove it.

To each his own I guess. Cavani hasn't really done it against the best for my money and beyond that he'll be much more expensive. What you guys fail to realize is that with a proven track record comes a higher price tag. I'd rather have Costa for the reasons I've mentioned AND because he'll cost almost half as much as Cavani. Diego and Lukaku next year with Eto'o.

To be honest I'm focussed solely on the Champions League since we are three games away from being crowned champs, but since we have Salah and Matic it makes our Prem run easier to manage. Cech Brana - Cahill - Terry - Cole Matic - Luiz Salah - Willian - Schurrle Ba I start Ashley Cole at LB because he will need match fitness since he'll be playing in the semis in a few weeks. I think Ba is pretty self-explanatory and Matic/Luiz for solidity.

If I had my choice between Cavani and Costa right now its Costa... He is more of a killer. Cavani has only really excelled in second rate leagues and hasn't even played his preferred position for most of it.

I didn't forecast a Ba 87th winner but I did believe we would win! Never had any doubt we would do it, we ALWAYS do it.

Just can't see any reason behind Jose resting both he and Hazard on the weekend to not bring them back for this one. Willian will play but I think he's destined to be on the flank... I agree though if I had it my way Willian would be in ahead of Oscar, his technique is more refined(age?) and he's a lot faster with the ball to feet. Of course Matic is a miss but we knew that forever now. Mikel hasn't played anything more than a bit part role, I can't see him getting into the starting XI he'll likely come in to sure things up if we go up.

Trust me I know full well this will never happen. For the record though the way Oscar was deployed last game(sitting on Motta) is similar to how I would deploy him here... Ramires has been so poor all of 2014 but this is exactly the type of game we would need him in, its a shame he's out because the way I see it we need a midfield with pace. Lampard and Mikel are both better in games where the pace is slower and unfortunately I don't think either of them will be well suited for the type of game that will be played tomorrow. The only place we have a slight surplus in numbers is in AM and for my money Oscar can sit deeper. Willian will also track back and provide good pressure in the middle of the pitch. Its not flawless but I would just like to see us go for it, shock them early then shut it down late. If you were gonna ask me what I expect to see its this. Cech Ivanovic - Terry - Cahill - Azpili Lampard - Luiz Willian - Oscar - Hazard Eto'o If Cole wasn't so out of form I would even experiment with him or Cesar in for Lamps.

I know he got help but I thought Jallet had a brilliant game against Hazard last time.

Is it just me or do we just need to worry about scoring first and defending after? This is my lineup. Cech Brana - Cahill - Terry - Azpili Luiz - Oscar Schurrle - Willian - Hazard Eto'o Go to a more defensive shape after we get the goals we need. Bring on Lamps and Mikel for Oscar and Schurrle. Bring on Cole for Hazard. We don't concede at the bridge its become a fortress again, we do need to score goals though and the way I see it we need to attack them from the start. It really quite simple, if Hazard makes up his mind to attack full speed we will generate a lot of chances, if he is ponderous and doesn't make fast, direct decisions we will lose. He is the key to our season he needs to take this game by the scruff of the neck and just GO! I don't care if Eto'o isn't 100% fit in terms of the psychology of the team he needs to start. I'd feel a lot more confident knowing Eto'o at 80% is on the pitch than I would Torres at 100%.

Salah just edges Willian for me. Both scored belters! but I thought because Salah also won a PK he edged it. complete control today never threatened onto a bigger challenge Tuesday! For my money Oscar is gonna have to big huge on Tuesday or I'd sooner rather Willian in the 10... He works extremely hard and has better technique too. The problem with our midfield on Wednesday was we were so used to having a beast like Matic that when he's not there now we get exposed... Still think Luiz and Lamps will get the call, we need them both at their best.

Man of the match. I thought he had better technique than he displayed today. Still a player to watch as the months unfold, great first start.
