If the rumoured fee is true, £18m is exactly what we should be paying for a 2nd choice striker, he won't play a lot and is young. Message to the supporters, 18m is not a lot of money! Don't expect Messi-like performances if he does come.

Anyone else think Lukaku is the type of player who bottles it when he tries too hard? He's the type that thinks about the headlines before they're written.

Integrate him slowly into the team especially because Cesar has been very good. Everton are a good side, not to be underestimated, but I just think we have a too much quality to attack areas they are weak in.

I still wonder what people here expect? Everyone wants more attacking football but they don't want to sacrifice defensive shape to get it. You can't have one without sacrificing the other... Simple laws of the universe here. And to be honest I still don't think we're all that exposed. We were caught on the break a couple times but Matic, JT, Cahill and Azpi should be enough to cover for situations that will arise. Matic got caught out on the ball once and I bet that will never happen again, he's better than that.

5 tackles, 1 post, key pass for the opener, running all game. Not really sure what people want from him? I thought he finished his second game for us and was actually better! But I also thought he was good in the opener... He makes it possible for others to do more while still carrying a threat going forward. For £19.35m that is INCREDIBLE value, he brings so much to the team.

I think we're gonna have our tails up for this one. I know Everton will want to play football and I really don't think they have the legs in midfield to cope with our quick passing. Can't see Jagielka or Distin dealing with Costa either... I expect a lot of fouls in and around the box and for Everton to slow up the play to compensate for lack of solutions. Need to score in the first half and if we do I can see us winning comfortably. Coleman and Baines will get forward so I'd like to see us stay compact after going up and then bringing on Schurrle and Ramires to stretch them once they're fatigued. Schurrle was great in the first game but awful against Leicester, I'd start Willian in this one simply because he has more industry in his game. He has a trick and can cause Baines some problems. Oscar and Schurrle don't offer the sort of one on one trickery I think will be needed to take this game... I would still start Oscar because I like the partnership/understanding Oscar/Fab/Matic are developing and this is too big a fixture to start chopping and changing. Courtois Ivanovic - Cahill - Terry - Azpi Matic - Cesc Oscar Willian Costa Hazard Diamond up top Oscar at the base with Matic and Cesc deeper and "holding". Willian comes in for Schurrle and we have more technical ability in wide areas to try and beat Baines and Coleman or at least pin them back a bit. If Matic bosses the midfield we should win. I'm calling 3-1...

Is it just me or has he greatly improved his touch and technique? His first touch seems to be much more under control.
