I don't know about you guys, despite his subpar performances in recent seasons, he gave us so many great moments. Would be a bit sad to see him out so quietly without much fanfare or recognition.

Jeez, people. Have we really reached the stage of wishing prolonged injuries on our own players?! Sometimes we really do reach RAWK-standards around here...

I really miss Ash. How long since we've had a proper full-back like him at his prime? An absolute monster at attacking and just as good if not better defensively.

Guarantee you won't regret watching that video. I miss him so bad
People claim his peak was under Mourinho in his first spell but personally as an all around player it was under Scolari/Hiddink/Carlo. Absolute joy to watch from 08-10

That statement should read falcao WAS clearly better than remy. in the same vein as van persie was better than benteke/kane. You are only as good as your last game.
Remy is younger, fitter, more reliable goal scorer over the past two seasons plus he's premier league proven and his ability to impact the game as a second choice striker isn't in question while Falaco on the other hand is struggling to regain previous form or return to top physical and mental condition (that injury really took its toll on him) . he spent majority of last season on his arse, doing his best Torres imitation (man utd can attest).
At this point in time, Remy is a safer and surer bet to succeed at Chelsea and the premier league (He already has). There's no single logical reason why anyone would pick Falcao over remy, which is what this is rapidly turning into, other than reputation which counts for little on the pitch.

This whole 'bottler' label is really confirmation bias at its finest. That's not to say that Cesc hasn't been playing poorly, clearly he has. But it seems like right from the start some people have been waiting and watching him closely for the slightest sign that confirms their suspicions. Looking at the team's performances in big games or in the 2nd half of the season, Cesc hasn't been any worse than the other players but yet no one else gets labelled "a choker". Why? Because folks here already have a preconceived idea about Cesc and selectively see things that affirm the label of him being a bottler.
He's being treated unfairly by some on here and I think people really get it into their heads that the team in general is playing poorly. To start singling out players is absurd. Cesc, Oscar, Costa, even Matic. The team overall has been poor and it doesn't come down to just one player.

Scholes
"As for Diego Costa, I see it differently to the rest," he wrote in his London Evening Standard column.
"I thought his actions were at the lower end of the scale of dangerous and that he was under extreme provocation from Martin Skrtel, who has wound him up before this season.
"My view of it was that Costa gets kicked a lot and actually his patience is to be admired in many, if not all, situations."

Christ, how can anyone argue with the charge or say it wasn't intentional.
Ridiculous.

Thirteen seasons of service, three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, Chelsea's first ever Champions League, Chelsea's top goalscorer of all time and apparently this guy is not a legend any more. I'm done.

This thread has turned embarrassing, if City win the League it's not cause of Lamps but rather it's down to us bottling it.
Fact is I will remember Frank for what he has done at the club and mind you he has done more than any midfielder in England. If a 36 year old brings City the title - it says more things about us than it does about Frank Lampard. I understand fans are fickle and put players on pedestals for some reason but in the end I hope you guys get over it when Lamps retires.

'Chelsea' is just a concept though, not the current board. Lampard should be smart enough to understand that his status here (which he embraced) doesn't allow him to act like the average joe.

The only people to emerge from this with any credit are Chelsea supporters. The way we applauded him in Manchester was wonderful, I hope he gets the same reaction at Stamford Bridge.
As a club we look pathetic because Lampard has, whichever way you try to sugarcoat it, swapped Chelsea for City after rejecting our new contract. However I'm proud that we made the decision to take a step forward because we are now entering a new era with a new number eight and some stunningly good footballers around him. Either way you have to respect Lampard's decision to stay and play in England because he is still rocking it even at 36.

It’s actually worse than I thought..
Drogba wrote ‘Blue Till I die’ on the dressing room white board and left the country, Ashley Cole rejected Liverpool and left the country.
Frank Lampard, the man who was Chelsea personified.. and embraced it!, has taken us for fools. He found a way to ‘save face’ with a pseudo-contract to pull the wool over our eyes, it was a PR move.. not for Chelsea fans but to keep his ‘clean’ ‘professional’ image intact; to not be the guy who moved directly to our only title rivals.

I don't want to fucking read another word here for a couple of months about what this guy needs to do and how he needs to get better. People said he needs to be more direct, he's bloody unplayable and no defender can live with him. People said he doesn't shoot often, he's shooting fucking alright I'd say. Then you wanted him to score away from home ... yeah, you know the score. He's ran his bollocks off today; I think I've lost mine whacking it to him.

Bytek reacted to DYC. in 🇧🇪 Eden Hazard
The whole comparison to Cristiano and Messi needs to stop though. He's not as outrageously talented as Messi, of course he's quite the talent himself, neither does he possess CR's ridiculous goal-sense. Not only did they achieve a lot more at Hazard's age, they went on to improve to a level people didn't think was possible (on a consistent basis). And that doesn't just go for Hazard but any new/hot talent. To be compared to them, you actually have to prove it by playing at that level for years like they have.
Completely disagree with the notion on him not being among Chelsea's best players this season. Are you kidding me? Everybody is allowed to have they're opinion, definitely. But if I say Kroos and Modric have been a lot better than Ronaldo this season, I don't sound right. I mean, be serious.
My memory with these kind of things is not the best, but in 22 starts, Hazard has had like what.. 3, maybe 4 bad games? 8-10 great games and 7-9 good games. He's been fantastic this season. Add a bunch of goals and assists to his game right now, and he's a top 5 player. Aguero is the only player above him in the league this season imo. You could argue for Cesc and Matic, or even Alexis. But Hazard has been the better player for me, Alexis just stands out more because of his underperforming team mates. He's been one of the better performers in the group stages of the CL as well.
Could he score more goals? Sure, and I still expect him to score around 15 goals from open play this season. But 9 goals in 22 starts is anything but a poor return. More assists from Eden? Definitely. This is a area he's been surprisingly ineffective in. A player of his calibre and his style of play should be providing more assists. But even though goals and assists are important, they don't define the quality of the performances. I'm convinced the likes Nedved and Figo would not receive half the praise they used to get by the majority of today.
The great thing about Hazard is how there's still plenty of room for improvement and I'm convinced he'll continue to raise his game. Looking at his time at Chelsea, you can see how he keeps progressing with every passing season. Becoming a superstar at this age is a rarity. Ibrahimovic, Rooney, Suarez, Robben, Ribery, Xavi, Iniesta, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Tevez, Schweinsteiger, Fabregas, Modric... you look at that list of players, which player was at Hazard's level at 23? Fabregas is probably the only one (you could argue for Iniesta and Rooney). That's amazing. And then think about how much they improved after 23. Eden can become some player.
It's time for a big moment though. Like a memorable performance in the quarter/semi finals of the CL. That's the one thing he lacks right now.

Is it? Because Courtois started the last friendly? Courtois was injured and missed the two previous games, with Cech and Aussie played in, so it was clear Thibaut would have the full 90 against Sociedad.
Also, for any goalkeeping nerds like me, these are the new gloves he's sporting:
