Our games remind me of Klopp Pool in the beginning. Lots of freedom and creativity in attack. Our players got more relaxed and unshakled under Lamps. Lesser players giving their part. Defensively realy bad. Generaly this pre season results are just crazy. Bayern spuds 7:8, real atletico 3:7...is no one training defenses anymore as long CBs can do long pass and control the ball?

Id say its pointless to compare CBs from 20, 30 years ago with today football. You can prep way more with all the videos and data to take advantage of the height/speed/shape of oppoments defences.

I think those were superior CBs with jump, reading, marking qualities that made them world class defenders even if they werent tallest. If Ampadu develops those, sure he will be a beast CB, but if he doesnt, then his height will be exploited. And honestly I dont see his potential in the rank of those above. If he himself prefers to be DM, then we can all forget that he will be a beast CB. Puyol or Terry dreamed to be the best CB, it sets the determination even higher regardless if they werent super tall. It was simply even more challenge for them to develop other aspects more.

CHO is just a kid and doesnt warrant that wage unlike the legends above. He deserves around 80k tops. If its 100k thats A LOT for 18yo without any real contribution. If its 180k then the club is just plain stupid. That selling price is amazing. We almost covered the fee we paid for. Marina is excellent at selling. Matic, Ramires, Oscar, Mata, Costa, Morata,...have all brought quite big checks back to the club. Unfortunely she isnt as great with buys.
