Ramires played 4 games generally playing in the centre. Has looked good there too. Why stick him on the wing, all of a sudden, when we had Schurrle on the pitch and de Bruyne on the bench? That was my major gripe with the substitution

Lampard for Schurrle was the wrong choice.. Ramires is not a winger and it showed. He barely made a run down the channel. (Maybe once - The eto'o chance) Mostly stayed central. Even tried to poke in 1-2 of the crosses from the right but i thought, he should have been on the right putting the ball in Only wide threat after the subs was Hazard, when he drifted to the flanks and Ivanovic on the right. Ivanovic tried but he's limited in what he can do

Lampard was a passenger today. Right decision to leave him out. Wrong decision to get him on especially for a wide player like Schurrle. Mikel-Ramires was the right pivot. Mikel, in particular, had a good game

He's a lot quicker than I expected. Ofcourse, he won't win a race against Coleman though- a very quick player himself

Needs a rest. Bertrand is easily capable of filling in, as we saw at the end of last season when Ashley got injured. Time to space out Ashley just like Lampard

This is the thing with squad depth. When the team doesn't win, people will point to X and Y on the bench saying they could have done better. Schurrle was fine. He was great against Bayern and that's why he got to start. Also, he would be up against Baines. Completely justified decision. KdB wouldn't dramatically alter the flow of the game.

There will be days like this. When the finishing is horrific. It's not like the boys failed to create chances because that would be bad.

good counter-attacking. plenty of chances. everyone put in 100% effort. ran everton ragged. but the defence was ill-disciplined. often exposed on the counter and the main reason chelsea lost - the finishing was woeful. Lot of work to do in that aspect but a 1-0 loss to Everton is not a total disaster by any means

Yes Mourinho has work to do but this is not a disaster. Just not our day though.

Torres' contribution in attack is non-existent sometimes. Eto'o is involved everytime the ball is played through the middle. Easily the better striker

I thought we were quite good for 45 mins. Ofcourse it's Everton away. We're not going to control 60% possession and create chance after chance. There were some very good link-ups but the cutting edge is missing upfront
