  1. Nothing wrong in questioning it. He has under-used youngsters before. At Chelsea, it could be argued that he had no quality youngsters but There were many young players in Inter who did not get a chance under him. Arnautovic, Bonucci. Same with Real - Canales, Sahin.. the list is longer. Probably Varane is the only youngster he has used extensively
  2. As a player, I'd take him without thinking twice really. Fantastic player. Can play alone up-front or slot in with the amigos giving Lukaku game-time up-front. Should be a move of last resort though
  3. i agree. Portuguese clubs don't get that much TV money. I heard they have to sell every year to stay afloat.
  4. If Tancredi and di Marzio are not pulling stuff out of their arse and this is in fact true, I can only think that Chelsea did not want to meet the buy-out clause. Hopefully this isn't like 2011 when we missed Modric and signed Meireles. Still enough time to thrash out a deal for a good striker
  5. I say hang him up as bait to all the rich teams around Europe. Try and take any deal upwards of 10mil
  6. What's more disturbing are reports of it being a heart ailment. Don't really care about the PSV deal if that's true. Just hope it's nothing serious
  7. Good to have him back. Sign Kalou and Malouda Steve and you'll have a world-class front-line
  8. If he does leave, I'll remember him for this
  9. I wouldn't worry much. This kind of high-profile player exchange deals rarely go through. Too many variables
  10. Good stuff Artur; 10-12 mil is a bargain in today's market
  11. I hope this isn't the last CM we sign.
  12. Always going to be easy with the connection we have with Vitesse.
  13. ^ I agree. There was a point under Robbie when our AM's were not putting their defensive shift in but since Benitez took over, we have basically defended with a flat midfield 4 with the wingers, usually Hazard and Oscar/Moses tucked back to close down opponents on the wing.
  14. ^ In your settings, you can change the Member Title edit: there maybe a post limit you have to reach first. Not sure
  15. great to have him back full-time. would love to see the club do the same with Gudjohnsen when he's hung up his boots
  16. ^ This season he will be automatic starter but next year, when Courtois will have completed a 3rd year on loan, it will be interesting what the club do.
  17. de bruyne and lukaku staying improves our attack by itself
  18. Rooney. I'm one of those who doesn't like to see the club spend obscene amts of money every window. Last year it was required. We had finished 6th. This year, I hope we limit the spending to 50mil. Rooney - 25m, Schurrle -18m, van Ginkel/de Rossi - 8-10m
  19. yeah. Any game where there's very low risk of getting overrun in midfield - start Frank. but in the bigger games against Everton, Liverpool etc, where we get frustrated, I'd love to see him thrown on as an attacking CAM. a half-chance in and around the area and he'll put it in more often than not
  20. Best thing to do with Frank - Make him an Impact Sub. Someone to throw on when we need a goal
  21. He's a good passer of the ball. Most of the focus is on his aggressiveness but he's a good all-round midfielder. Can't deny that he hasn't had the best year at Roma but I think he's still good and this will be Makelele-esque
  22. If we do sign Rooney, there is one big advantage over Cavani as it will allow Lukaku more game-time (Rooney can play deeper as well)
  23. In all fairness, once the buyout clause expires, nobody will pay 50mil for him. Maybe 30-35mil
  24. Terry's getting old. Ivanovic rotates with Azpi at RB. So really Luiz is the only proper quality CB in the squad. I would be thinking of someone like Kurt Zouma. Ideally, we should be thinking about this next year Someone like Zouma, who can be loaned and then come in when Terry leaves
