  1. Chelsea Football Club will play AS Roma on August 10 in Washington DC to end their pre-season tour of the United States. The friendly will be played at the RFK Stadium few days after the inaugural Guinness International Champions Cup, where Chelsea start off by facing another Italian side - Inter Milan. The game kicks off at 8 pm local time and will be screened live on ChelseaTV. This game against Roma comes just 8 days before Chelsea's season-opener at home to Hull City, ending a long pre-season with a total of 7 games spanning 2 continents on opposite ends of the world. Chelsea last played Roma in the 2008-09 Champions League Group Stages where the Blues won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture in Rome. 2. I can help whether it is for something specific or just posting articles on the site yes. it would depend on who's free and such. we're all spread out across the world. when 1 is free, let him/her handle that particular week(s) and others contribute little.
  3. well...atleast he's Home-Grown...
  4. Kevin de Bruyne's passing is as good as Mata's. But he's versatile, so I think de Bruyne will spend more time on the flanks
  5. Jose's words - 'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'
  6. DailyMail further reporting that Barcelona will offer 10m + Messi for Downing
  7. doesn't happen as often as you think. sure there will be swapping and such but if you look at last season, generally, it was Oscar and hazard on the wings and Mata in the middle.
  8. look at the wording - "offer believed to be 10mil + a player, thought to be Mata or Luiz" Too much guessing in one rumour. probably bullshit
  9. Centre Attacking Mid or CM, Last year Oscar and Eden Hazard were played on the wings. There are a lot of people posting here that they will do better at CAM or in central role. Playmaker may not be the term to clearly express what i wanted to say as you can have playmakers at different positions/levels. i meant operating centrally
  10. Chelsea have a problem of plenty when it comes to playmakers. Last season, Juan Mata played the role for the bulk of the season and did a brilliant job of it - 17 goals and 22 assists only enhancing the argument for him. But Chelsea also have Brazil's #10 Oscar and the returning Kevin de Bruyne in the squad, not to mention Eden Hazard. Each of them brings a slightly different skill-set, so who do you think should be Chelsea's playmaker this season? and more importantly Why?
  11. anyone else notice a brilliant bargain former Chelsea player?
  12. transfer should depend merely on other factors. his ability is out of question for me
  13. i think what he meant was we shouldn't get into it (europa) in the first place. Mourinho is a winner. until last year, i don't remember chelsea preparing for the possibility of getting out of CL in the group stages. he's come in and put things back in it's proper place
  14. is the source for this story tancredi palmeri? that's slightly worrying
  15. Jose Mourinho revealed that he talked Frank Lampard into staying at Chelsea - before he returned to Stamford Bridge as manager.
  16. that would be useful against the likes of bayern, barca etc who like to control possession. much like robbie did last year with mikel - meireles - ramires - lampard
  17. it's not always proportional to size. India has a population of 1.2 billion. But best football player in history - Michael Chopra even he's only by descent
  18. I might have slightly changed team name and point-scoring has been revised. atleast Bonus points. do check it out on their site
  19. Overpopulation is not something to brag about though
