  1. with Shaw yes. but with Sterling it was the price.
  2. Chelsea stayed clear of Shaw and Sterling due to the price. Why is this any different?
  3. Laporta lost the Presidential election at Barcelona. So they are out of the picture now?
  4. I understand why everyone likes the player. I like him too but I don't think the defenders market has inflated to the point where 30m for Stones is a good deal.
  5. Even Chelsea can. And have done so. Look at the current back four. They don't cost 30m put together
  6. I am digging this signing. Witsel- Matic- Fabregas in the big games Although I (and I imagine most others on the forum) are judging him based on his Belgium games and his Benfica days. I hope he hasn't dropped off from those levels Sadly no.
  7. Implying you'll always get good defensive players on the cheap. No defender is worth splashing 30m on.
  8. No defender is worth 30m. You always get good defenders on the cheap. Ivanovic Cahill Kompany Azpilicueta. Defenders in general are undervalued
  9. Doesn't matter what Luis wants. If there isn't a good alternative, then keep him, even against his wishes.
  10. The Sun, Telegraph etc are all speculating about Chelsea. I don't think any of the rumors on their sites are true. We are in mid-July and plenty of viable options are no longer available - Schneiderlin, Costa, Turan and now Vidal. I really hope the club has something up it's sleeve. Don't want to see the club panic in August and splash the cash on somebody not worth it.
  11. The rumour is still in the Sun, Telegraph stage. Sky Sources are yet to understand
  12. Sky sources understand that Liverpool and Manchester City are in advanced talks over the transfer of Raheem Sterling. I'm guessing Jose is put off by the price again. Like Shaw last year
  13. Underwhelming if true. I am hoping for a better attacking player. Sterling, Isco, Griezmann...
  14. Fenerbahce is a strange move. It's a great coup for them. I think United will retain Chicharito and sign another striker. They always have a good strike force
  15. Great decision by LvG to let RvP and Falcao go
  16. Yeah but the risk was still there in all those years. Injuries are not exact science. Like last season for example Cech made around 15(?) appearances . And a team like Chelsea plays a lot of crucial games - like vs Arsenal last season, Courtois got a concussion. If a top home-grown keeper like Begovic wants to sign for Chelsea, I would gladly take him.
  17. Would rather pay 8m for a safe pair of hands after years of watching Hilario, Turnbull etc
  18. They have bought two forwards and are looking to get Callejon as well by the looks of it. It's not Arda Turan's position that is in danger. If they do sign Callejon, I'm pretty sure that means Griezmann is leaving
  19. Griezmann was the one playing as striker
  20. http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/158290/atletico-madrid-negotiating-e15m-transfer-for-napolis-jose-callejon/ Vietto, Martinez and now Callejon. Right then, Griezmann is definitely leaving
  21. or Jose just didn't fancy him. No regrets letting him go but if Man City do sign him in this window, I think he could prove himself in England
  22. Sky Sports FootballVerified account‏@SkyFootball Barcelona will target Paul Pogba if Joan Laporta wins presidency
  23. Couldn't handle the rigours of the prem? More like he wasn't given the chance
