Sounds like this will happen but RWB is a very specialised role now. I would want 2 quality options in the squad to avoid something like the LWB situation this year
Makes sense to let him go but if we replace Cesar with a quality RB this summer, it will deter us from looking at Livramento and his 38m release clause that is active from 2023.
Is everyone expecting a shift to 4 at the back? I don't know. I think so much of this squad work well defensively in a 3-4-3 that I think it continues next season as well with Rudi-Silva-Kounde in defence.
I would stick it out with Mount. Clearly has everything else we need in that role except goal threat, which none of the others in the squad have anyway. Mount and Havertz should be two of the front 3 for important games.
Even with Alonso, still think we are up there with City/Liverpool/Bayern for the CL. In one-off games, this team can break out of tight pressing and create chances.
There's no reason to fingerpoint Mount. His presence in the team really helped the pressing. The chances should have been put away but really fine margins + he's coming back from injury
