He's not blameless but this is misplaced. Agree - wasting time on Sarr, Kennedy, Bats especially over Vale, Gilmour was pointless. But some perspective on the recruitment. Tuchel is not a recruiter and he was pushed into the role because of the circumstances - sale at the end of the season and no time to get a director in place. If we go fishing for quality players - Hakimi last season, Sterling, Raphinha, K2 De Ligt - we have to accept Chelsea is not the big draw it once was for most players. Among Tuchel's targets, only Kimpembe (he has coached him before) and Ake (didn't bid aggressively anyway) were the ones that were questionable. Dembele we were interested in but he signed for Barca even with a wage drop (would have been another pointless chase) and Kounde, I am not convinced is a huge mistake on Tuchel's part.
